  • (2023-11-12) Andrew Davis: This extension works perfectly, and is simple to configure. It's great to be able to customize such a common task.
  • (2023-10-31) Ashkan Arabi: very easy to use!!
  • (2023-09-22) Arihant Tripathy: Works on Edge!
  • (2023-08-28) Matt J: The only "open tab to the right" extension that doesn't send you to the end of your tabs like the other ones.
  • (2023-07-19) Antonio Jimenez: Damn, I was looking for this for some time by now. Loving it. Thanks!
  • (2023-06-14) Steve Rand: Works as advertised. Other extensions will not maintain Chrome's new grouping so a new tab would be ungrouped. I now have Ctrl-T set to add a new tab to the right, and it adds it into the current tab's group, just as I wanted.
  • (2023-06-07) David Tapp: It does exactly what I was looking for. I use the right-click context option or I click on the extension icon to open a new tab. I'm very happy with that. I don't know if it's a known bug, but I cannot set a keyboard shortcut for 'open tab on the right'. The editor doesn't appear to allow typing in the text box for that option. I'm on Windows 10.
  • (2023-05-06) Łukasz Luke: Just what i wanted and it works. Well done whoever created this, i appreciate it a lot.
  • (2023-04-14) Florent Roussel: It works when the clicking on a link in a the active tab, but when opening a new tab from a bookmark toolbar for instance, the new tab is still open at the very right.
  • (2023-03-25) Wceorotl: TOP
  • (2023-01-26) Pearia: it's just works
  • (2023-01-22) Igor L. Vicente: I wonder why Chrome doesn't have it yet.
  • (2022-12-26) Shuang Li: Work as expected
  • (2022-12-13) yousung Kim: Aagh!!!! I don't know why Chrome doesn't add this feature. Thank you very much.
  • (2022-11-01) John Osterman: I probably make use of this hundreds of times a day. Extremely useful, particularly if you use tab groups. But even if you don't, it's often very helpful to be able to open new tabs right next to the one you're viewing. I really don't get why this feature isn't integrated into Chromium.
  • (2022-10-07) Matthew Phipps: Just what I was looking for. Thanks :)
  • (2022-06-13) Chris Lozeau: Perfect. Until Google introduces a shortcut for 'Open tab to the right', this extension delivers that. Thank you!
  • (2022-06-05) Lily Soares: Doesn't access browser history like the more popular one and works exactly as I hoped.
  • (2022-04-20) Jacob McDonald: Feature Request: when using this in a tab group, make the new tab stay within the tab group. Currently the new tab will open outside the tab group. Otherwise it's perfect!
  • (2021-12-26) Piotr Góral: When on last tab in a group, it doesn't add new tab (to the right) to the group:(
  • (2021-12-07) Dmytro Shcherbyna: Awesome!
  • (2021-11-27) operator: Just work. So nice.
  • (2021-11-12) Антон Сорокин: Groups of tabs are really annoying without this
  • (2021-06-10) Samuel Phan: Simple and exactly what I wanted. To open a new tab to the right, the keyboard shortcut is Alt+T (customizable).
  • (2021-01-27) Onkalo Kalohan: excellnt. it's what i really want
  • (2021-01-05) Jay Q: Finally! Incredibly, Chrome doesn't allow setting keyboard shortcuts for menu items (at least not on Mac). I've been wanting to add a shortcut for "New Tab to the Right" for a long time. Thanks so much for this simple but useful productivity enhancer!

Latest issues

  • (2023-03-07, v:1.0.2) Alec Jordan: Broken for me in Chrome 110.0.5481.177
It seems to have stopped working, I notice in the chrome://extensions page Under the "inspect views" section it says "service worker(Inactive), not sure if that has anything to do with the issue or not.
  • (2022-03-28, v:1.0.1) Ben Hawkins: Broken as of Chrome 99.0.4844.83
Seems not to work anymore, possibly due to changes in tab groups. If you create a structure like: - Tab 1 - Tab Group 1 - Tab 2 - Tab 3 Then focus on Tab 1 and invoke the extension to open a tab to the right, Tab 3 gets ejected out of Tab Group 1. This seems to only happen when opening tabs to the right of a tab which is adjacent to the beginning of a tab group. This started happening within the last few days for me.
  • (2021-12-01, v:1.0.1) operator: Duplication of tab
Big thx for current app! It would be nice to add shorcut for duplication of current tab.
