  • (2024-11-05) S W: I find this extension offered up from financial institutions to be most helpful. I don't always have my CC handy and there are times when PayPal won't work. This extension creates a CC number to take the place of your actual CC number, as well as a fictitious Expire Date. This keeps all your actual information off the Internet and away from merchants who might lose it. A very handy extension and well thought out in execution and user interface. 4 Nov 2024 UPDATE I continue to stand behind and support this app from Capital One. For those who are having issues with the auto-populate feature might I suggest some tips to check. If you have a pop-up and/or malware - ad-removal software (i.e. UBlock Origins, Adaware, AntiTracker) you might want to check them. Also, don't forget the Browser you are using. Many of the main-stream browsers have incorporated ad-blocking and tracker-blocking services. Then there are those websites that do not communicate with add-on extensions such as ENO®. Both of those possible threats to auto-populate, as well as AV suites, are the reason for the (Copy-n-Paste) feature.
  • (2024-11-04) Jim Yoder: This is one of the best shopping features ever. I first posted this a review in December of 2020. I'm updating the review because I have been using the program for online shopping for 4 years and never had a hitch in the process. Loading the extension into chrome makes it easy and seamless.
  • (2024-10-21) b t: There's a bug in this extension that seemingly prevents it from re-validating your account/card link. That's why it "suddenly totally stopped working" for so many of you. To fix this, you'll need to totally uninstall the extension from Chrome, then re-install it. Once reinstalled, you'll have to log in again and enter your CVV code in order to re-link your account to the extension. After that, it should work for you again for at least a few weeks.... then it will fail eventually and you'll once again need to repeat these steps to use it. TL;DR: When it actually works, it works well. But you'll have to keep reinstalling it every few weeks in order for it to actually work, and this is very annoying.
  • (2024-10-13) Jiri Mracek: Update 10/13/24 - doesn't work well over VPN connections, I understand it's not an easy task, just be aware. I need to disable VPN for Eno to come up and let me login. Other than that, still an awesome feature of Capital One. 2/25/21 - Years ago Bank of America had a very similar feature and then they dropped it, who knows why. Not with them anymore, been with CapitalOne for many years now and I love what they do, I love how they proactively protect themselves and their clients from fraud. I love this, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I really, really try to not give out my real number to anyone now, they get the virtual one. Added bonus (I think) - if the virtual number gets compromised, the bank has better means of finding the leak.
  • (2024-09-30) Carl Newton: have been using this app for a couple months now for online purchases. Thus far no issues with it. Most times it pops up when you get to the payment page.. One time I had to start the app but for the most part it works great. I really like the one time use number they provide. I think it will go a long ways in helping prevent online fraud and cards numbers getting stolen. UPDATE: June 2023.. now the app SUCKS.. does not load, can not get the log in to work.. deleted off my computer. FIX IT or do away with it.. whatever you did FAILED. UPDATE: Sept 2024.. finally got with CS person that actually helped figure out what was going on and got it fixed.. Now it works on desktop/laptop just fine.. really like the virtual cards as it help with security. going on 5 yrs now no fraud.. also did credit freeze.. google clark howard credit freeze... highly recommend..
  • (2024-09-06) Craig Weiss: Update - Sept 5th 2024 Went from great to awful. It always says you need to login and it opens another window. But when you complete the login for authentication, it never works with the virtual app. You can try it on all different types of browsers, same issue. Worthless.
  • (2024-08-23) Lisa Strube-Kilgore: It's good, not great. My biggest complaint is the sheer number of hoops you have to go through to view the CVV for any virtual card you make - and if you're using a virtual card more than once, you're going to have to retrieve that number about 90% of the time. Log in, then double verify with an OTP code, then re-search for your virtual card, then click that yes, you really want to view it - it's just silly. It really adds difficulty to using virtual cards, though I guess we all stick with it for safety.
  • (2024-07-30) Misshowell2u: Great feature. Love that my actual credit card number is not out on all the sites I shop and I can lock it at will. Wish my Discover card and other credit card had this feature.
  • (2024-07-30) Mark . W: 8/2021; BEST EVER. makes me feel like i can shop on sites that i have had trouble with in the past without screwing up my card auto-pay stuff if that site sells my number. now they are selling a fake number that wont work on any other site.... i REALLY like C1 i wish they would bring back the card photo feature again and allow me to order cards online again. edit-7/2024; something changed, now it tried to pop open a new verify window that doesnt work 99% of the time. that happened for a few months, seems to be better but im also spending a ton less-bidenomics.
  • (2024-07-19) Al F.: PERFECT WAY TO BUY VIA INTERNET. IT MAKES MY PURCHASES MORE SECURE AND WORRY-FREE.
  • (2024-07-15) Cathy Woodson: Updated review: They seem to have fixed the glitch that the system was having. It is working great now. Such a wonderful app!!! So convenient. This is a fabulous feature when it works. The problem is that on a regular basis, like every 5th or 6th use, it forgets I am signed up!!! It makes me re-register and acts like I am new to the service. Very frustrating. I bet I have signed up 10 times over the past 2 years. It also doesn't always recognize a vendor and I have to look through all the virtual cards. This is very time consuming as I have about 40. I wish they were alphabetical. I have talked to customer support and they can't do it.
  • (2024-07-09) Todd Fred: I think it is the best thing since sliced butter. Makes using the card so much easier and secure. I know who leaked the information if it were to be used. I only wish it worked on my IPhone.
  • (2024-07-08) Jim McCormack: I really like this extension. I like the fact that I don't have to put my actual CC number out there and have it exposed to possible hacks or breaches or just some unethical employee. And I love the fact that I can pre set the card to lock on a certain date to prevent future fraud.
  • (2024-07-08) Lola Beyer: Love not having to share my actual credit card number online! I have been scammed a couple of times, and this is a great way to do online transactions. I like that it pops up whenever I need it, without a bunch of extra keystrokes. Thank you, Capital One! ONE YEAR LATER: I've tried, but can't get Capital One Shopping and Virtual Cards to pop up on my IPhone ~ I love this convenience on my PC, but WISH I could get it on my IOS! Let me know if it is possible and I'm just not finding it!
  • (2024-06-16) Gandolfa Stegmann: Relatively easy to use!
  • (2024-06-08) Dan Clowes: I really like using this app, but would like it even better if I could put a dollar limit on the transactions. Thanks!
  • (2024-06-03) Jeremy Hemingway: being able to have a different card number that only works at each specific online store has made my account much more secure. If a number is ever stolen it can't be used anywhere else. Being able to automatically lock cards after a certain date helps a lot when a website tries to sign you up for a subscription without you knowing.
  • (2024-06-01) Rich Gordon: Complicated and tedious
  • (2024-05-27) Jessica Yock: I use this extension with the Vivaldi browser (based on Chrome) on desktop PC both with Windows and Linux. Seeing all the reviews here made in 2024 that mention several problems, I have to say I am surprised that I have not experienced these issues (not saying they don't exist for the others). Some sites don't autofill, sure, but it has always been easy to just copy and paste into the appropriate fields. If I make a purchase from somewhere I have before, it loads the virtual card I have for that site and I can update the auto-lock date if I set one, excellent! No freezing, no failing to load the virtual card numbers. I have used it for recurring payments as well as one time payments. I am not disputing the problems other people have had. That is why I shared the platform and browser I use in case that makes a difference. I have to say this has been my favorite way to safely purchase online because it works EVERYWHERE that takes a credit card.
  • (2024-05-27) Len Poli: I Love your service!!!!!
  • (2024-05-25) artnbarb: great idea. poor execution. frustrating!
  • (2024-05-19) Bill Fitzgerald: too difficult to use
  • (2024-05-19) Debra Johnson: Most of the time when I use it, it works. However sometimes it does not fill the generated number and then the screen freezes so it cannot be manually filled. It's a nice concept. I just with it was more reliable.
  • (2024-05-18) Jack S: doesnt work
  • (2024-05-16) Barbara Feske: I agree with those who comment it's a hit or miss. The concept is good but not always functional.
  • (2024-05-13) Bruce McDilda: Totally hit and miss for the extension to work and recurring payments utilizing the virtual cards are hit and miss for verification. You cannot whitelist recurring payments very frustrating.
  • (2024-05-08) Jason Vasilew: This extension works really well. I use virtual cards all the time.
  • (2024-05-07) Austin Gearing: doesn't always pop up and half the time it autofills and breaks a company's credit card entry field so you can't type but it won't recognize the card number as being entered
  • (2024-05-01) Ki Fanning: doesnt work half the time. when it does it is good.
  • (2024-04-22) nlpettersen: Terrible. Not autofilling. Just pops in my actual card number, which is exactly what I don't want!!!!!!!
  • (2024-04-19) Margaret Holanov: useless . gave me an expired card
  • (2024-04-16) Sylvia Chickanosky: Virtual card did not auto fill and when tried to copy, would not work. Need to fix this.
  • (2024-04-02) R Farley: Been using for 3 years or more now but now, it will use an existing virtual number, it wants to create a new card. Now you have 2+ cards for one store! Stupid!
  • (2024-03-27) M K: This is the best credit card benefit ever. I was so tired of having my card compromised and fraud charges. Now not only is the card only good for one merchant, but I deactivate the number after the charge is made so it can't be used until I reactivate it. All my routine bills with monthly charges also have their own number, so if I do have to get a new card for whatever reason, those charges are unaffected.
  • (2024-03-27) William Guess: I see only one shortfall in this system which I address prior to the complimentary portion of the commentary: It would be nice to enter cards prior to purchases--I can see the problems this could create such as billing companies not associated by name with the service or retailing company. So, it is just somewhat slowing. On the other hand, I DEFINITELY LIKE NOT PLACING MY CREDIT CARD ONLINE, AND LIMITING THE NEW CARD TO ONLY SPECIFIC COMPANIES! ENO IS DEFINITELY A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR SECURITY.
  • (2024-03-11) Karen Winbourn: I have used this method before and was very happy with it but the last few times it has not worked. Not sure what I am doing wrong, if anything, but its a nuisance now.
  • (2024-03-11) Terri Pacheco: I love it. Takes the worries out of on-line payments.
  • (2024-03-08) txcharley: After yearly replacements of CCs because my # "somehow" gets compromised, I am LOVING this feature!! I don't worry that someone will re-use the number, because it is no longer valid after I use it. What a GREAT idea - why don't all the cards have this? UPDATE: For some reason, I have to CONSTANTLY renew the ability to USE my temporary cards!! Today, I had to re-sign in (NOT a big deal) AND skip through a TUTORIAL when all I wanted to do was make a purchase with an EXISTING card!!!!!!! It SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD! Make it better!!
  • (2024-03-04) Peter Thomson: does not work for me
  • (2024-02-27) Richard Olsen: This is a great safety issue. Keeps my card private I've been using it for several years now without issue as of 2/27/2014
  • (2024-02-25) MB Kelly: I am batting 50/50 with this app. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. It seems to fall apart when I sign up for repeat monthly payments. I am wondering if this is the source of the problems I am encountering?
  • (2024-02-13) Bob Belbeck: Has never worked. Just pops up and says wrong password. Then, I go through the work to change the password, and the next time it does the same thing. Worthless.
  • (2024-02-13) Hemant Patel: it did not work. I try couple time but never type card umber or make copy number . their are some issues
  • (2024-02-12) Michael Lockhart: It usually doesn't load the virtual numbers, and when the copy button is used a whole new set of numbers are displayed and partially loaded. Confusing.
  • (2024-02-01) Roy Amick: This is really great. I have used it several times and it is nice to not be giving out the real card number to the merchants. It has auto filled one time but did not on several, but it is not that hard to cut and paste. I would say the positive outweighs the negative so far.
  • (2024-02-01) Dabney Lewis: I need the CODE 3 digets and it will not give it to me
  • (2024-01-14) Dennis A.: Yet AGAIN yesterday it Doesn't work at all. Pops up but will not autofill. AGAIN I could not even type in the card #. USELESS!! It worked when I first had it, but not for the last 6 months or more. DISAPPOINTED. VERY FRUSTRATING!
  • (2024-01-02) Dana Laurin: have been unable to use for past 2 days
  • (2024-01-01) John Whittenberger: Doesn't work with some sites like wrangler.com. It does work for most though and it's good.
