• (2025-06-28) Tina-P: Like some other reviewers have mentioned, it is great when it works. I just ordered an item from eBay yesterday and the AAdvantage eShopping extension popped up and I clicked the activate button AND, after I made the eBay purchase, I saw another AAdvantage eShopping extension pop-up congratulating me and telling me I earned miles. But I logged on to my AAdvantage eShopping account this morning although it shows that I did visit eBay yesterday, it does not show my eBay purchase in "Recent Transactions". Perhaps it won't show up until eBay ships it so I will wait a few more days. I really wish I had taken a screenshot of the pop-up message telling me I earned miles. I thought about doing that but thought, no surely I would get properly credited since that congratulatory pop-up message came up after I made the purchase. ALSO - why would I suddenly get a request to give this review of AAdvantage eShopping unless I actually recently used it? That is how I got to this review page - I got a prompt this morning requesting me to review my recent shopping experience. I get so frustrated with this whole process.

The AAdvantage eShopping extension pops up to automatically let me know about opportunities to earn miles, which is handy when I don't think to look up and see if the site I'm shopping on is a partner. I also love that it shows 'deals' where you can earn extra points. I've started buying my beauty items at one of the AA partners rather than the "A" company, so I'm building up miles that way. Plus TBH the pricing is often better on the manufacturer's website, and you know you're getting the actual product, not a counterfeit.

• (2025-05-29) Patrick Harris: I have accrued nearly 100K of AA miles using this app alone and I use it EVERY chance I get on day-to-day items I am buying anyway. I will buy from one site over another even at a higher price if I can get more points. But I see some vendors (ie: Sams Club) reducing their points/$spend and this reduction is changing my spending patterns. (ie: 0.5miles/$ will not sway who I buy from)

• (2025-05-26) Karen “Karend” Dseib: When it works and when they are credited its great, however, i have had to reach out on several occasions to get my award points when shopping with the button and i have made sure that the offer was activated only to be told after several months of waiting and providing order # and $ of spend AA says they are sorry they cant confirm. Very disappointed and frustrated with having to go back several months after doing a blue apron subscription and doing my part they are failing to reward my 4300 pts! This should't be this complicated. Also they have never rewarded me with installing the button on my browser as they said they would either! Cmon AA please do better!!!

My main suggestion is I wish there was a way to access the pop-up after I click on the "activate later" button. Maybe there is a way and I don't know about it? For instance with Rakuten the button closes but I can click on it at anytime both to activate is and to see what percentage I;m getting.

• (2025-03-31) Page Nix: Works well but does perform slowly and some things are unclear such as: do I have to use my AAdvantage credit card to get the bonus points for the purchase? Are these bonus points on top of the ones I would already receive using the AAdvantage credit card?

• (2025-03-26) Calvin: I love receiving miles for shopping. The button is very easy to use and takes no time to install. Receiving the miles after purchases is also pretty fast. I wish that the dining was more efficient as you have to wait a while to receive your miles. Will have to wait for the 1k bonus miles for making my first purchase but I am hopeful that it will come in ~30 days as you have to keep the button installed for at least that time to receive your bonus miles.

• (2025-03-02) Nina Winters: Absolutely love this button. Extra miles and points are accumulating in my account without it costing me a single cent. I was amazed to see the points you could take home by everyday shopping at all your usual retailers. Simply doing a Sam's Club shop today got me x6 points on a shop that I would have made anyway and as others have said, you don't even have to go via the AAdvantage page, the extension pops up to tell you whenever you land on a page that will give you points. This button truly rocks!
• (2025-02-22) Beverly Taylor: Excellent for racking up additional Miles and Loyalty Points if you shop online even intermittently. The interface makes it easy to search or browse and find which sites are running a better miles per dollar multiplier without having to log into the main AAdvantage eShopping website. The extension also successfully notifies me when I'm on an eTailer that can earn me miles, even if I didn't route to the site through the AAdvantage eShopping portal or extension at all which is exceptionally nice. I'm notably absent minded, and this auto-check function has definitely saved me missing out on loads of miles. I do have one complaint (the reason it's only a 4-Star review): when I acknowledge the Mileage Offer to activate the reward for my site session/transaction it can be painfully slow to confirm activation or even freeze up requiring a page refresh or two and additional acknowledgement attempts. This is far from fatal. The longest lag I dealt with had two refreshes and took about three or four minutes, and I still got the miles. The lag/freeze (especially when it requires a refresh or two) just gives me major anxiety that my transaction won't be logged and future visions of waiting on hold for customer support start flashing through my eyes with scary violins playing... Yes, I'm a Millennial. True to my breed, I find contacting customer support an existential horror, and I have the patience of a seven year old hopped up on Mountain Dew the instant an automated system picks up or hold music plays. This is to say, I wish it loaded faster and didn't have fits and starts, but ultimately the extension is completely usable and very effective at its job overall - I'm a regular user and highly recommend the extension if you're an AAdvantage member and do any online shopping.

• (2025-02-11) ROBERT CONNAL: I seem to be addicted to using this app to increase my pool of miles, and I absolutely love the chrome plug in that pops up and indicates the number of miles I could get by shopping on whatever site I happen to be on. The allure is the promise of more miles and I definitely use that bit of info to make shopping decisions and deciding which online retailer I'll use for any particular items. I think its a great service and applet and use it frequently!

• (2024-12-02) Daniel Clemmer: This extension is terrible, and the AAdvantage website hasn't been working almost all year for me. I was told to use the extension and it's not any better. I got loyalty points and miles all the time in 2023, now I have to keep a spreadsheet and nothing is tracking natively. It takes 2+ weeks since the transaction before you can request for missing miles, and then they take 4-6 weeks to research anything it at almost every retailer. It's utter garbage. Not worth your time, don't give them your data.

I'm still waiting on confirmation from an order that will impact a potential bonus of miles. It's very frustrating to have to constantly follow up, and follow up again. It's hard to trust this program.

• (2024-10-16) Barry Nelson: Awful!!! They do not honor going through their service. I have to chase them EVERY time I get a hotel through IHG. Been telling them for 3 years. They don't do anything and just refuse me requests - even though their system shows I visited that site through their portal on the day in question. You cannot question the transaction until 15 days afterwards and then it is too late to confirm you actually performed the transaction through their portal. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
• (2024-10-12) Douglas Pinion: Nice to get the extra miles... BUT, the miles available for each store is misleading. It frequently says "Up to 5 time miles...". When you check, the 5x only applies to one category on the site. Everything else may be 1x or less. Also, as you maneuver around a site, the miles premium sometimes drops off. But overall a nice perk.
• (2024-10-12) JHM: I have been using this button for several years -- since it was introduced. There few been limited improvements over the years. The button works about 20% of the time -- and I always follow the proper steps. The other 80% of the time I need to contact customer service about missing transactions or missing miles. And then, I need to wait weeks or even months until the points are awarded. A few times, the points were never awarded, and the explanation as to why was ridiculous / unacceptable. I go out of my way to make purchases through the portal but it is incredibly frustrating. Diminishing returns at best.

• (2024-09-09) Veronica Johnson: Buyer Beware: While some stores validate points immediately, other stores like Coach Outlet are very slow and don't honor points even when you follow the rules provided. I purchased $900 of merchandise on a 4 point reward and never received any points. AAdvantage sent several notes to me stating that they were waiting for Coach Outlet to validate but it never happened and I never received the points. After 3 months the purchases roll off and AAdvantage drops the case leaving the consumer to never get the points. I called Coach Outlet to learn they have no department to help with such reconcilation and AAdvantage only contact is via email. My last email in July, AAdvantage eshopping stated that they were working to validate the April purchase with Coach Outlet however, no additional information had been received from the store. It really amounts to FALSE Advertising and there is no buyers recourse for getting a correction or update. Some stores are very efficient with the sales and purchase verifications but for those that are not like Coach Outlet, you have to follow up with AAdvantage Eshopping via email and just hope they follow up with the store because if the stores don't respond you will not receive the points earned. Very disappointing!
