  • (2025-04-10) Holly Babaran: It works to block GIFs, but for some reason it doesn't enable itself by default. After you install it, click on it and select the option to either play animations once, or block them entirely. It also only blocks GIFs, not animated SVG, so it gets 4 stars.

  • (2025-03-01) Karen Collett: Seems to work in most cases, but unfortunately doesn't work on Reddit
  • (2025-02-16) N N: This is the most useful extension ever as of February 2025, Google Chrome on Windows Desktop. Use Disable All, because some animations take minutes to watch! QUESTION. How can I see other extensions from this developer?
  • (2025-01-08) Deja Vu: does not stop svg here https://github.com/sharkdp/fd
  • (2025-01-06) Ian Crew: Really nice, especially regarding folks who tend to post animated GIFs to Google Chat. This allows you to see the animation once, but not over and over and over again!
  • (2024-11-26) Jessica S. (darkocean): Works great, thank you. I can finally peacefully read this review: https://ahuffleofhorror.home.blog/2020/09/26/is-it-worth-it-hellraiser-hellseeker-2002/ Most webmaster nowadays don't have a single clue how to make a good website. Rule #1: Don't have 5000 moving images when the content of your page is meant to be read! Total fail.
  • (2024-10-24) Scott Edlund: Works for animated gifs. Would be nice if I could set per site.
  • (2024-08-10) Christopher Steen: Doesn't work anywhere you actually need it, only works for basic sites, won't block animations on reddit or imgur
  • (2024-06-24) René: does not work on discord.com
  • (2024-06-04) David Booth: No radio buttons shown. Didn't stop NYTimes videos/animations.. If there are supposed to be options somewhere that I can set, to make this work, I didn't find them.
  • (2024-04-05) Cyndil Smith: Did not work to stop the animation I was targeting. The site I wanted to browse has a "search" bar that plays several animations of "suggested searches" on a loop. Because the bar is pinned to the top of the page as you scroll, I could not use the website without the animation pulling my attention. This extension did not fix the issue.
  • (2024-03-22) Jason Hiller: The update now works for me on ChromeOS chrome. An option like "play animation once, click (or alt-click, etc) to replay" would make it better. Also animations not shown on the screen but loaded further down the page will play thru and stop so you won't see them without a reload. <old review> doesn't work. why would it? It's made by Google.
  • (2024-02-22) Ronald Benson: Excellent! Works great in Edge. Why isn't this a built-in option!!
  • (2023-12-08) Quanderhorn: Utterly pointless. Radio buttons can not be clicked: just brings up an unchanging page from giphy

  • (2023-06-10) Jason Huggins: To people saying it doesn't work, this works on image animation. If you are still seeing images that move, then you need NoScript. This does not block scripts. Use this with NoScript and Ad Block Plus and you are good to go!! But again to people saying this does not work, you are seeing scripts and this isn't for that type of image movements.

  • (2021-07-20) Jean: I'd give it zero start if possible. It doesn't work at all. When It's set as "disable all image animation," the images just animate as they pleased.

  • (2021-05-25) Pete Baron: Works perfectly, windows 10, latest chrome. May 2021 - install the extension - close & restart browser (might not be required) - click the 'puzzle' piece to see extensions, click the lightning bolt - select the animation mode - refresh the page with the annoying gifs... they've stopped! NOTE: only stops gifs, not html or flash animations. If you're not sure if it's a gif that is annoying you, right click on the animation and select 'save image as...' If it is a gif the dialog will show "file type: Compuserve GIF (*.gif)"

  • (2021-05-12) Valeera: could you add an option to whitelist certain sites but block animations on every other one?
