Don't Watch Later

CRX id

Description from extension meta

A simple Google Chrome extension to disable autoplay for videos from your YouTube watch later playlist.

Description from store A simple Google Chrome extension to disable autoplay for videos from your YouTube Watch Later playlist. I usually open videos in a new tab from my Watch Later playlist, which automatically has the `list=WL` querystring parameter. I also don't usually watch videos in the order I added them to my Watch Later playlist. Instead of trying to hack YouTube's massive amounts of JavaScript, this plugin does exactly what I need. This extension doesn't track any of your data usage, and is open sourced at https://github.com/shakeelmohamed/dont-watch-later

  • (2020-09-07) Lisa Lavandula: Does exactly what I wanted it to, which is playing a video from my Watch Later, instead of loading the whole list, enabling YouTube to run a lot faster for me.
  • (2019-01-27) James Braden: Not quite what I was looking for. I use playlist to group videos, but don't want it to go to the next one once I finish a video. I was hoping this extension would simply prevent from loading the next video in the playlist, but sadly it just takes redirects you to the basic non-playlist URL.
  • (2016-02-19) Bill Price: When you click on a video in your Watch Later playlist, this extension makes the video load as a single independent video, not as a "playlist" video, and thus prevents the next video in your Watch Later list from autoplaying. Perfect!

I really liked it but it stopped working after youtube update Thank you!

Very useful, but it'd be nice if there was a faster way to switch it off. Sometimes you actually do want to watch a playlist.
