Adds a button to the formatting bar to Syntax Highlight a code selection.
It supports more than 100 different languages including HTML, JS, CSS, Bash, C, C++, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.
Autodetect or force the use of specific language. To specify a language type the language name as the first line of the snippet.

Version 1.8.3 Update Notes:
Added the ability to disable the save notification.
To disable:
1. Right click the icon in the top right
2. Click options
3. Un-check "Enable Save Notification"
4. Click Save
5. Refresh gmail tab to allow changes to take effect.

After installing all I get is an icon in the upper right corner of the browser and after clicking it, have to login. Then what? How the heck do use this thing? I can create a snipit and that shows up in the list but how do I put it in the darn email? All the code is highlighted in red font anyway so even if it could be pasted into email, looks terrible.
I wanted to format some SQL but when a comment is in the code it causes the formatting of the remaining SQL to appear in the same comment style...
Please remove the notifications or better yet make them an option in the extension menu

I feel compelled to write a review. I tried 5 or 6 other ones that weren't intuitive and syntax highlighted my entire email. This one worked perfectly. Thanks!

Even if it's not woking right now (solvable), I'm still love it. It's great. @devartis: Error can be fixed easily removing the `onclick` inline event to the button and binding the `click` event with jQ. @users: If for any reason the @devartis do not update the extension soon (and you can't wait), can be manually fixed changing `main.js` file and loading the extension manually. I used to love it, but recently it just stopped working. Clicking the { } button does nothing to the text I've highlighted in GMail
was ok. not being able to specify language meant results would vary. recently stopped working for me altogether.
I think it needs a way to specify the language. I tried using it several times, and the highlighting was never right.

Love it! Does exactly what I want
it used to work well but now it only works from time to time. Sometimes the option is visible, sometimes it's not. Best gmail-extension ever ...if it were reliable
Exactly what I wanted it to do, but it's not always available. You have to reload the page if you want to use it.
Seems to be working as expected... most of the time. Ie. the extension button loads the first time I'm trying to compose something, but the next time doesn't. I have to ctrl-F5 to make it reappear.
Die Erweiterung finde ich recht gelungen und die Code-Formatierung funktioniert perfekt. Leider scheint es ein Problem im Zusammenspiel mit anderen Erweiterung zu geben. Die Erweiterung erscheint einmal in der Formatierungsleiste. Erst nach einem Google Mail Reload ist die Erweiterung wieder für die folgende E‑Mail nutzbar.

one of the few times that a chrome extensions is actually 100% exactly what i was looking for! awesome!
