Make calls with Google Voice with a click.
Extension Features:
- Makes phone numbers on websites callable via Google Voice by just clicking on them.
- If a phone number doesn't turn into a link, you can select the text with your mouse and right-click to make a call (note: might not work with all numbers).
Info:
- If you don't like the extension turning numbers into Voice icon links, you can turn it off in the extension options.

- (2023-11-26) Jay Cie (Bry): Unfortunately -- and this is not the fault of the extension but Google Voice itself -- no matter how it is accessed, it is not working half the time I attempt to use it. But that does not stop Google from emailing me every 2 months that my GV number is about to expire if I don't use it more. SMH.
- (2023-10-31) Marco Aguiluz: WHERE IS CLICK TO CALL? This is a useless extension, what does it do but open a new tab? Click to call feature does not work, they say "Register" when I click on that button nothing happens. Who designed this and decided that this was a useful extension? IT DOES NOTHING
- (2023-09-24) Michael: What is this worthless trash? I click the toolbar button and it just opens Google Voice in a new tab? Why wouldn't I just use a bookmark?
- (2023-07-21) Justin Mosebach: I'm signed into multiple Google accounts in Chrome and I don't want the Google Voice extension using the default one (which is what it does). But, there's not option to switch accounts within the extension.
- (2023-06-19) Setu Upadhya: this extension is useless. It just re-directs to Google voice. I want to call while staying on the same URL
- (2023-02-19) Ananstracated: Garbage
- (2023-02-02) Kev Mann: What does this extension do??? I still have to open the Google Voice website to use the features of Google Voice. No calls ring in my browser unless Google Voice is an open tab, which defeats the whole point of the extension. This is pretty much the most useless extension in the store.
- (2022-12-15) Ken Foster: Turns every number into a click to call link, which is nice, but every click opens up GV in a new tab, causing Chrome to waste even more memory than usual. Laughably substandard support documentation for the extension and for Google Voice in general. But ultimately we're uninstalling because Google dropped the ball on our number port on the one yard line and we haven't been able to receive calls for a week... and counting... so we have to change to a completely different provider. Pretty sad.
- (2022-09-29) Kid Vegas: by default the extension will be able to access your camara according to the system last access. I understand that this extension might have the capability to make video calls too, in my opinion, they should ask first :) . I blocked the access manually and monitoring it closely to see how do they do ... Great app tho, beside that .
- (2022-08-29) Zachary Yaro: It performs the basic function of adding a Google Voice icon next to phone numbers on web pages, but the toolbar button just opens the Google Voice web app, so if you turn off showing icons next to phone numbers, it is no better than a bookmark. You used to be able to get an extension from Google that would show how many unread texts/voicemails you had on the extension icon as well, and let you preview them in a pop-up; this is a massive downgrade from that.
- (2022-07-25) New Philmen: Theres no click to call feature.
- (2022-07-23) Everynameistaken: What a completely useless extension. All it does is open the Voice web interface in a new tab. Why would I need a browser extension to do precisely what a bookmark already does?
- (2022-06-23) Steve Janke: Doesn't do much now and the extension makes some etherscan.io pages unresponsive
- (2022-06-15) Mike Gentry: love it
- (2022-06-05) Ihor Bodnarchuk: Now it finally recognizes numbers, great! But it crashes etherscan.io website
- (2022-05-24) Jake Speed: this is an extension? No, it's a BUTTON to take you to the website. Uninstalling. I can get there myself.
- (2022-04-08) Jeffrey: Doesn't work anymore
- (2022-03-10) Mike G: Doesn't work as it should
- (2022-02-19) James: Click to call no longer works. Google does a great job of taking good ideas and completely destroying them. Good job morons!
- (2022-02-02) Basement Doc: Two issues: 1) it didn't work initially - after installation phone numbers on webpages can't be clicked. It asked to change permissions, but windows 10 doesn't offer option for google voice, only skype and others. uninstalled then reinstalled, restarted chrome, finally it works, but as others note, multiple clicks to call 2) it hogs CPU driving to 100% on two cores - high heat, high battery use: once uninstalled chrome went back to normal. will watch it. Google quality & innovation continue to decline - they need a real competitor. Any alternatives?
- (2022-02-01) Becca Shaw: What's the point? It just opens the Google Voice webpage in another tab. I can do that by going to the website. So many features (push notifications, streamlined UI, etc) could easily be included in an actual desktop app like the one we had for Google Hangouts.
- (2022-01-12) David Coddington: This application used to display the number of new voicemails in the icon. That was the reason I downloaded it. That feature was removed long ago and now the only purpose this extension serves is to let you call numbers on web sites automatically. Not useful to me anymore.

This extension still doesn't work...Can't text (message still say "please try again")...still can't place a call directly without being taken to new website. Nothing changed. :-(
- (2021-12-24) Via Linda Home Services: Thank you for updating, now every phone number on any website has the Google Voice icon which allows it to be called by clicking and taking you to your Google Voice web interface page. It even works in my google calendar!
- (2021-12-23) William G. Hayes: This was once a great extension, but it appears it is no longer supported and it's turned into little more than a quick link to Google Voice. Please bring back the notice of unread messages in GV and the ability to text from the extension itself so I can give it the five stars it once so richly deserved. Edit 12/23/2021 - Still no love. Google Voice on my Android devices works great... Please update this Chrome extension so it works again. It would be an awesome Christmas present.
- (2021-12-19) Jason C: its ok. i can't tell what the other reviewers are talking about with the "old one was better" thing though; i click a number and it just shows a confirmation dialog then makes the call; seems smooth to me. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
- (2021-12-18) Ahmed Metwalli: Hey, I do not get notification on Edge mainly for text messagesโฆ I got notified on my phone, then I go and open the browser. it is acting as if it is a shortcut for the website Is that how it is supposed to be or I have something wrong? Or a setting issue? Version 96.0.1054.57 (Official build) (64-bit) Cheers,
- (2021-12-17) Kurt Brazzil: It used to give me a dropdown showing new voicemails, and a counter that would show if I had a new message but it has been completely neutered. Now it is just a glorified link to the google voice page essentially. Only other feature I can see is the ability to click phone numbers on a website and dial them through voice.
- (2021-12-17) Jordan Elder: Google fails again. I'm an avid voice user but Google has been steadily destroying the service and this extension. I'm pretty sure they sit around and think of ways to make things worse. The only thing this extension does now is make numbers it thinks are aa phone number clickable to dial, although this seems to be more miss than hit. Really terrible update.
- (2021-12-17) It's Me: Am I the only one who still uses this thing? Looks like it was updated yesterday and now it does nothing more than give me info about GoogleVoice? I can get that from the website. it was bad enough you stopped the group text now it can't even open the webpage. I might as well make a bookmark and drop the extension. Also, all things considered it worked okay before yesterday. And I would have given 5 stars... probably more like 4 but definitely not 2 and I am seriously thinking of dropping it to 1.
- (2021-12-16) Coot Master: FINALLY UPDATED it adds a green phone instead of a url to call from websites and Gmail/ contacts also adds a right click w mouse
- (2021-12-16) Josh Jetrod: I'm hoping that this latest update is a mistake, and that they are working on a fix as I type this.
- (2021-12-16) Brian Taylor: This latest update to the extension no longer even has the option to direct you to the Voice website when you click it - it's now quite literally just to make clickable links out of phone numbers on websites. What an absolute joke...
- (2021-12-16) Eric S: Wow! You did it! You took an already useless extension and made it even more useless. At least before I could use the extension to take me to the Google Voice site. Who is working on this project?
- (2021-12-15) Scott B: Latest update is really bad.
- (2021-12-15) Mr. Lance E Sloan: My caution to users is to NOT turn on the "Voice icons" feature of this extension. The GV extension tries to find phone numbers on the pages shown in the browser and add clickable GV icons following each of them. The extension options panel says that it looks for "E.164-format phone numbers". However, in practical use it could be any string of numbers. For example, I received an email in GMail from a colleague to meeting at "2021-12-07 10:00 - 11:00". The GV extension interpreted that as a phone number, putting its icon immediately after "2021-12-07 10". It's annoying to see that there, taking up space, but also the icon is a different height than the text, so it put all of the formatting off.
- (2021-12-15) drew mintz: The chrome extension has stopped functioning correctly today. Totally broken and worthless now.
- (2021-12-15) Mike Ventura: Google Voice is NOT working in my Chrome browser with today's (12/15/21) extension update. Please fix or advise ASAP! Thanks.
- (2021-12-15) Tyler Carter: Functionality pretty much removed
- (2021-12-15) Rick Kukiela: Works somewhat ok, but my main problem with it, as a web developer, it clutters my console with javascript errors on every page load. Can you guys please fix this? Unchecked runtime.lastError: The message port closed before a response was received. staticide-acrylic:1 Error handling response: TypeError: Cannot read property 'loggedOut' of undefined at chrome-extension://kcnhkahnjcbndmmehfkdnkjomaanaooo/contentscript.js:167:137 Appear every page load when your extension is enabled. EDIT: Now out of nowhere the icon in my toolbar is showing gray instead of green and when I click it to just opens a context menu as if I right clicked on it when before it would take me to the the google voice page. I have no idea why this started behaving in this manner or how to fix it and its really annoying me now that it's not working.
- (2021-12-15) John Navas: Used to open a Google Voice tab when clicked, which is the only thing I cared about, but that capability has now been removed (in version 3), making it useless to me. "Google giveth, and Google taketh away." I'm reverting to 2.5.35 with a hack to stop updates.
- (2021-12-15) Lvrry: used to be great. for years. now it doesn't even open texts. I rely on this for work. horrible...
- (2021-12-15) Pierre van Eck: Was really a good extension. Could see the number of messages, write a quick text, call from the it. Now it is just an URL link to the Google Voice site. With the legacy website you could set a ring schedule. Another good and handy tool that Google just decided to screw up. Another company not listening what people want, but force feed them on stuff they think I need. 12/15/2021 Now the whole thing is dead. Cannot access texts, weird stuff happening on webpages. Way to screw it up Google
- (2021-12-15) Grant Dickinson: The devs should take another crack at some working regex to parse phone numbers on pages. Fun times this morning when the extension updated and detected all of the dates in the ticketing system I use for work as clickable phone numbers.
- (2021-12-15) Dan Jenkins: It was great, but the latest update started putting the call icon next to every single IP address, dates, and other random numbers on websites.
- (2021-12-15) Sean Stanton: This extension used to open Google Voice in a new tab when clicked. Now all it seems to do is add a phone icon next to any phone number on a webpage (or any 10 digit number for that matter, such as an order number). I'm not sure what the purpose of this change was.
- (2021-12-15) David Callaway: This extension used to work great. Click on it and it opened Voice. Now it does nothing.
- (2021-12-15) Ashley Anderson: It was great when I had the option to click it, and it opened up the voice.google.com website in a new tab. You removed that option, and now its useless to me. Way to screw up the plugin. Learn to leave it well enough alone!
- (2021-11-22) Currie Dobson: Google voice is awesome. There is no other way to put it.
- (2021-10-17) Paul T Maack: Not useful. I bought the thing thinking I could use links to phone numbers with it, but no. You still have to copy the link and paste it into the little popup window that you have to click on the Google Voice Extension for. Such a giant wasted opportunity. Why in the world can Google not figure out how to integrate their own service with their own browser so you can click on a phone number in THEIR SEARCH RESULTS and just have it call with Google voice? Instead it asks if I want to make the call on my cell phone... Seriously? Uninstalling right after I post this review.
