WebUSB provides access to devices that may not be designed with an adversarial threat model in mind, protected only by a permissions dialog that does not make the risks clear.
Given the lack of widely-deployed uses of WebUSB, disabling it is a prudent defense-in-depth measure.

- (2019-11-13) Ken Adams: im guessing its intentional that there are no settings because its such a simple extension? If so, I would suggest a post-installation explanation, super simple just explain that there are no configurable settings and not to worry it is working as designed.
