- (2024-05-16) Elaine LaBonte: Natural reader is great for me. My eyes get tired quickly and I can't focus on the content for more than 10 or 15 minutes without Natural Reader before my mind wanders. I consider NR one of my disability apps. The free voices are ok, but I like the more professional ones.
- (2024-03-12) is sr: NaturalReader hightlights: - love using chrome extension on desktop & laptop, - to read webpages, - to cut and paste into online reader, - easy to use, - good voice choices, - helpful speed option, - focusing attention by highlighting words being read, - can use on many file types, and - first assistive technology text to speech (tts) used last 20 years starting with offline desktop & laptop. <3 - post-note: preferred not to have Android App connected to google or any other...
- (2023-12-22) Matt Carlson: So far it seems to be working well. Sometimes selecting what needs to be read can be cumbersome.
- (2023-12-19) Manolo: Updated review 5 December 2023: (1)When trying to get the extension to read webpages, I have to click on the extension icon in the toolbar twice (2x) to to get the control panel (the play button, etc) as it doesn't appear after the first click. Could something please be done about this? (2) In trying to get pdf files read, I was redirected to naturalreaders.com/online, where it says the following: "Free users can sample the Premium Voices for 20 minutes per day and the Plus Voices for 5 minutes per day. Or use any available Free Voices unlimitedly" When I click on the voice options (English -US), all I can see in the drop-down list of voices, are Plus or Premium voices. There aren't any FREE voices available. So, the statement about the ability to use available free voices is very misleading! Review dated: 9 March 2023: Been using this extension for some time now, but I think the control panel should be smaller so that it isn't a distraction, and that it blocks only as little as possible of webpages/articles being read.
- (2023-12-15) Luke Shapiro: This is a very good extension, but I find it very frustrating that it frequently changes my default voice from Samantha to David, one of the paid options. Then sometimes the sentence and word highlight function will stop working with no explanation, and I have to uninstall and reinstall the extension to regain this functionality. If the developers fix these issues, I will gladly give a five-star review.
- (2023-12-13) Habtamu Abraham: Very cool app plugin, I like it keep it up, has free version with relatively better sound than other I used!!
- (2023-11-27) Kyle Morgan: Sometimes it makes me turn on my phone home screen to keep going. Still a great app and I haven't felt pushed towards getting the paid version. Use it both on phone and chrome.
- (2023-11-20) Casca99: Natural reader is a wonderful extension app well worth the money for what I need. I use my voice for all of my typing and communication needs; Natural reader, is an extension of that. Natural reader insurers that, i have auditory feedback after dictating an email or editing an article, or any other written task being able to hear my document being read back to me makes it easier to find mistakes, and inconsistencies. This extension also comes in very handy for helping me to read large documents, when I no longer feel like staring at a screen. I am a very satisfied user of natural reader, and i will continue to use it for many years to come.
- (2023-11-14) Varuna LiyanaArachchi: This has all options as a TTS application. If you are a lazy reader due to more video watching, this will cover your reading needs.
- (2023-11-13) golam kibria: Excellent application, Its helps and improve my work sped and quality regularly.
- (2023-11-11) Kinjishi no Shiki: Amazing, I am a student and this extension helps me save a lot of time.
- (2023-11-11) Madison Pope: The Ai generated voices are great but even if you buy a subscription, the voices aren't unlimited. you only have so many characters you can use per day, so i couldn't use it for reading my e-textbooks or notes. found that frustrating but the voices sound human.
- (2023-11-10) Tony: Junk! It's very slow to launch and it's too expensive. The 5 minute free trail is a joke. No reason to switch from so so many free Text to Speech options.
- (2023-11-10) Ray Renfro: Natural Reader has opened the door for me to hear many articles I would have never read in the past. This is because I have dyslexia and don't read well. I have several friends without dyslexia that heard me talk about Natural Reader and now use it because they had rather hear an article than read it. All in all Natural Reader has been a big help for me.
- (2023-11-07) Oren Katznelson: Works for me. I compared it against a few other voice readers and I like its integration with the page, how it highlights words and sentences as it reads and how you can easily skip between paragraphs. I like its small footprint on the page. The reading mode is interesting, but I need to try it further to tell if I like it. The controls are also really good compared to others.
- (2023-11-07) Yo this dog is behaving Goofy af: doesn't work at all
- (2023-11-06) Jason Prechtl: Some have the attention span to continue to look at a textbook and know exactly what they are reading. However I am not one of those individuals and after coming across this app it made reading, learning or even writing so much easier and interactive!!
- (2023-11-05) Pietro Santoro: Buggy as hell
- (2023-11-04) Ahmad Danjuma: Don't trouble your eyes when there's an app like this. this app is a must-have for anyone who reads up to 100 pages a month online. I use it to reduce my CVS.
- (2023-11-04) Political politics: No idea why it's rated above average when it seems to refuse to read...
- (2023-11-03) Tanakorn Chantasuban: Good one but way too expensive and no buyout option
- (2023-11-02) Tyler Rider: As a individual who is both dyslexic and in college, I needed an application that would read PDFs reliably and in a fluent manner. I first tried Speechify (another TTS extension) but the reading fluency was poor. Speechify seemed to generate audio that would mimic reading the words one at a time instead of as an idea or even sentence. Upon learning about NaturalReader, I used the free version on the Edge browser and the software generates audio that seems to mimic a person making an audiobook recording versus reading the words one at a time. As a graduate student, I spend six hours a day reading and two hours a day writing on average for course work. NaturalReader enables me to read faster and maintain my comprehension of what I am reading. I also use NaturalReader for revising, editing and proofreading my research papers and emails. I would recommend this extension to individuals with learning disabilities as a tool to assist them in developing their skills in reading and writing.
- (2023-11-01) Muhammad Rahman: very bad experience not user friendly
- (2023-10-31) Francisco Arroyo: I was beginning to love it until I get interrupted mid text with a 5min daily limit...
- (2023-10-30) Allison Sigmon: I have ADHD and a really hard time reading everything I'm supposed to for college. NaturalReader helps me a ton, because I can listen and read at the same time to engage more of my senses and keep me focused for longer. The voices are good, the extension is easy to use, and the free version isn't too bad. Highly recommend :)
- (2023-10-29) Thisura Thenuka: Highly recommended. As a university student, I have a lot of reading to do and Natural Reader helps me with most of it. Appreciate you guys providing a free version that works really well. Definitely buy the premium version if you are able to, because it's worth it and the team deserve it.
- (2023-10-28) Susan Slayton: Excellent addition to my browser!
- (2023-10-26) Asad Abidi: Amazing. I prefer listeninig at times and this app comes in handy!
- (2023-10-25) Patrick Howden: Great extension! It even reads Kindle books!
- (2023-10-25) Analyst Dharmesh Bhatt: its very nice and helpful .! Thanks to the creators
- (2023-10-24) Sophiaselia Sannes: this has helped so much with my assignments and have been using for year and love it. I have learning disorder and I love being able to have something that is clear and i am able to understand.
- (2023-10-24) Xinef Afriam: This is one of the best services I have found. As a writer, it is extremely useful in helping me hear my words aloud in different tones, and with the paid subscription, you get voices that are scarily real sounding. There's of course still a little uncanny valley in the production, but for what it is, no real complaints. -- My only notes are more buggish, like sometimes i need to refresh a few times because it loads slowly, but not a big enough deal for how useful this can be.
- (2023-10-24) Peter Rowe: I am dyslexic and have a very slow reading speed this is great for documents and easy to start and stop whilst I take notes.
- (2023-10-22) Priyanka Rathod: good application ...............!! i like to use this.......
- (2023-10-21) Jacqueline Davis: Thank you so much! I had no idea that I was an auditory learner and listening would increase my comprehension! My family and I have used your plug in since at least 2017 if not before! Thank you.
- (2023-10-18) Mark Palmos: Has potential but makes Gmail jerky and it's very hard to simply click on an email and then click to have it read out... sometimes works sometimes not, and there is no icon ON THE EMAIL ITSELF... so you don't know if it has selected the right email. Im uninstalling, trying Read Aloud next.
- (2023-10-16) Anand Kamath: I've been a paid user of Natural Readers on my 3 laptops and 2 phones. I love it. It syncs all the data between the devices. I wish my read rate speed setting would be saved across devices. I find having to set the reading speed on each device (a touch annoying). Also I notice that the user ID logs out too often. So sometimes I am looking to have a large block of text read and it stops half way saying free tier has been reached. Then I have to Log back in, re enter the Text and continue from where I had left off. But still a great app. Allows me to go through content quickly. I wish there was a Share option that would share the recording and readback highlighter with the person that I shared it with. It would be great to share content with my wife or manager so that they could see the experience of text the same way I was reading and listening to it. Thank you,
- (2023-10-15) Skarlett Ross: Paid Version Been using this program on and off since high school. I find it very useful. Some the best text-to-speech I've seen! It's nice that its now a headless plugin and I can now use it on not only desktop windows chrome, but also in my Linux system and the kiwi browser on my phone (though its still a bit buggy as it will crash when I'm tabbed out for too long, but it's not a supported platform so understandable).
- (2023-10-15) Chris Thompson: This saves me an incredible amount of time.
- (2023-10-14) Ofer Reichman: This is a good reader, unlike most others. Not as good as Edge's though.
- (2023-10-14) Dalia Nabhan: Great work!
- (2023-10-14) Bryan “Ironman” Stark: Good voices but not free. You only get 5 minutes a day then you have to buy it. So, not really worth my time, I hardly got a chance to use it in 5 minutes.
- (2023-10-14) Jonathan Azzopardi: I'm really loving this reading software. It's super handy for me aas i can listen to my study materials on the go. Plus, I can listen to my fellow students' creative writing, and even have my own work read out loud without having to depend on anyone. The realistic voices are a big plus, they add a human touch that keeps things flowing smoothly. Definitely a good investment for anyone looking to make their reading and studying easier and for busy people to have evreyithing on the go even whilst driving for eaxmple.
- (2023-10-13) Rebecca Charles: really love how realistic the voices are, it makes me want to learn more when reading and studying. just wish the Volume can be louder, i may have to get an additional speaker but over i love it and i am using the free version.
- (2023-10-13) Marielle Simoes: makes a huge difference for me!
- (2023-10-12) Jennifer Soh: I love this. I paid for the subscription because it's 100% worth it. This company clearly put a lot of thought and effort into developing, maintaining and improving this service and I think it's unrealistic to expect them to offer it for free with this level of quality. If you want a free app, there are sure to be others out there that are less polished than this. That said, I do agree that 5 minutes a day is a bit short, and it would probably be better to consider at least extending it to 30 minutes.
- (2023-10-10) Sharon Cadena: Great tool. I use it everyday. I also appreciate the continuous development in the software.
- (2023-10-10) Mojahidul Islam: very natural. i love it. i have tried many but found natural reader very natural and attractive. five loves from my side.
