  • (2020-04-10) Adam Woolhether: 4.5 stars This is the only one that does is all near-perfectly, without forcing you to change page/text color manually. Switching is simple, slight lag but SIMPLE. -0.5 stars because it does affect the performance slightly.
  • (2020-04-02) John G: Not quite sure how, but if you use this WITH "Google Docs Dark Theme" it works great! Upgrading my review to 4 stars. Previously, I couldn't work out how to ctrl-F search for words in a doc, as the highlight was dark on dark, not light on dark. I accidentally found out a workaround: ctrl-L to focus chrome search bar, then ctrl-F to search, and the highlights are yellow!
  • (2020-02-26) Flavio Mauri: I like that this seem to flawlessly work on Edge Chromium, whilst other three extensions don't do a good job. This one has readable toolbars and perfect document contrast. Haven't tried advanced functions but basic use -what most people do- should be perfect.
  • (2020-01-02) Patrick M: The least buggy dark mode for google docs out there. Only thing wrong is that the word count tab on dark mode is still in native black font.
  • (2019-11-16) Goldendeed: Only needs the outline fixes as others have said, I think the text and the highlighting is fine, that's not really important when you are just trying to type in the dark. color can always be added later. I don't personally care about that, but any bug fixes should be addressed!
  • (2019-11-11) Jed Grant: Document outline is all white so you can't see. Under "View" the check boxes are black instead of white or gray. Otherwise good.
  • (2019-11-06) curusarn: It's good for some late night writing. Everything looks nice and legible in the main UI. If you go deeper there are problems: selecting highlights with black on black, all text colors are overriden, outline is unusable, comments have invisible labels on buttons. All of this is not really a problem when just writing text though.
  • (2019-10-15) Theis Enø Larsen: The best of the services i tried
  • (2019-09-16) Jedielson da Fonseca: Really good! It actually makes me want to write even more. haha
  • (2019-08-21) Genaro Díaz: Pretty good
  • (2019-08-19) Thomas Warnica: This is actually quite nice. Easy on the eyes, the text isn't done in a weird way like some other extensions. The only problem I'm having is that it doesn't seem to be doing anything for the document outline - or more accurately, it is altering the text on there to white, but it is not blackening the main box as appropriate.
  • (2019-06-13) Gabriel Fernandes: Works well, and looks nice. Only negatives are: All text colors are overriden, meaning your text will be white, no matter what you choose. The select background color is also black, which makes it hard to see what you've selected. Overall it's good and serves well it's purpose.

How do you change the font color, because it doesn't appear to be changing to red for me, which helps me focus? Red on black is the best for concentration.
  • (2020-04-27, v:0.4) Greg Schwartz: Schedule on/off
Love that your extension actually makes the document dark, while also keeping text easy to read! Would really appreciate being able to schedule turning it on and off! Or better yet, use sunset/sunrise times with some adjustable buffer (wait 0..4 hours after sunset to turn on, wait 0..4 hours after sunrise to turn off). Thank you!
  • (2020-02-27, v:0.4) Samuel Sarette: Open Source or Fix
You haven't updated this in almost a year and the comments here have suggestions on things to fix. Either let someone else fix it or come back to us and update it!
  • (2019-08-19, v:0.4) Thomas Warnica: Document Outline is only partially modified
Hi, the extension is working great in Google Docs except that the Document Outline is still a pure white background (but it does change the text accordingly), meaning that effectively it's white-on-white and so unreadable. Is there any chance that this can be updated to fix that?
