- (2025-09-05) I'd give this app 3 and a half or likely four. I wish the play head for the audio was specific to the sentence and not paragraph or whatever setting its setup to. Otherwise its a very solid tool with many engaging readers. I would probably give it a 4 of 5.

- (2025-09-04) Using Speechify has completely changed the way I learn and manage my time. Since I’m more of an auditory learner than a visual one, Speechify has been a game-changer for me. I often use it alongside ChatGPT to listen to explanations of long and boring PDFs instead of reading them myself. The ability to play, pause, and multitask while listening makes studying so much easier and more efficient. It keeps me engaged, saves a lot of time, and makes the entire learning process far more enjoyable.
- (2025-09-04) Speechify automatically gives itself permission to view your Payment Handlers, Camera, Microphone, Location, Hand Tracking, etc etc. There are 2 Speechify slots in Permissions (the extension and the website), so you have to go to both and manually BLOCK all of these settings. To get there, you must right click the extension on the toolbar and select View Web Permissions: change all your permissions then click the Back arrow (scroll up and you will see it slightly left of the center), select Speechify.com and change all of your permissions again to block. This will BLOCK the Speechify extension and website from automatically setting permissions for itself to "Allow". Also, on the Speechify extension page (right click the toolbar and select manage extension), change it to "On click". Where it says: "Site access Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit:" Change it from "On all sites" to "On click". This way, all you do is click on the extension in the toolbar when you want to use it, instead of it always being on... You can also get to the Permissions page from the Manage Extension page. Just below where you select "On click", you can click on Site Settings and that will bring you to the permissions page. I recommend turning everything off, as it does not need permission for anything else other than the 3 that cannot be changed and 'Sound' (Sound is set to Automatic (default) )'. EVERYTHING ELSE SHOULD BE BLOCKED as it is SPYWARE... (this is why I gave it 1 star)
- (2025-09-04) Speechify is a life-saver. Having ADHD makes reading a little difficult and speechify is the perfect tool to help digest a lot of information in a short period. I used it extensively while working on my master's and I'm not sure how I got through any of my reading prior to using it. The interface and adaptability to different platforms is huge. I also love that I can use it for e-books and pdfs. That is, with speechify, I can essentially convert almost anything to audiobook format. This allows me to engage with more material more often.

I know that it isn't truly possible due to coding and security measures put in place. I hope that one day speechify will work on all websites.
