  • (2023-02-07) DCon Playz: I have ADHD and this extension is a hidden gem when it comes to late night study sessions. Allows me to push through the dopamine craving paralysis and get through my work. Hoorah!!!
  • (2023-02-07) Kyle Richardson: Absolutely the best tts tool, but its very expensive. Its practically unusable without purchasing one of two plans, $139 for 1 year, or $50 a month.
  • (2023-02-06) KaraNot Medusa: it help me read when I mentally don't want to.
  • (2023-02-06) Tariq Hussain: Saves a lot of time. Makes life easy
  • (2023-02-06) Dws designs: The ability to highlight and take notes is a great feature for retaining information. Overall, Speechify is an excellent tool for anyone looking to enhance their reading and listening abilities and is highly recommended.
  • (2023-02-06) ASTORY.TV點閱率排行榜: very good
  • (2023-02-05) Taryn Brownfield: I absolutely love this extension but currently it is skipping the last word or two of sentences, completely randomly. I submitted an issue weeks ago, and have only heard back to get the same useless troubleshooting advice, but the problem persists. I'm rating this 1 star for now in the hopes that this will help get the issue resolved. Currently, this is not useable for me as a screen reader because of this issue.
  • (2023-02-05) Ruji Masiri: saves time
  • (2023-02-04) Andrew Rios: So buggy. Crashes nearly every use. Not compatible with most of the pages I need it for, so I end up using their clunky local document feature, which can't be edited. I end up using a free speech to text tool just as often because this thing refuses to work properly. The voices are actually amazing, outside of that the product is awful. Not worth the frustration let alone the high price.
  • (2023-02-04) nd biller: first off, i don't dislike speechify per se, but i have to agree with mr bot, who mentioned edge does the same for free a few pages in, which i didn't even know before. and overall i'd say speechify is too expensive, has word limitations with premium voices, you notice "incentives" designed to push upgrading on you everywhere, the ui/ux could be improved as well in some aspects... ok, snoop dog or john cleese as a voice is a usp, true dat... but seriously, have you tried making edge read a website to you? i'm honestly re-thinking using chrome as my main browser right now, just because the TTS in edge is working so amazingly right out of the box, no extra installs, no errors, completely natural speech, fluid like nothing i heard before from TTS voices, not even from speechify... come to think of it, aren't you using the same windows voices here as well? because in speechify i still got small skips and breaks, no matter which voice i used, while edge was like someone read the text to me live and in person in comparison. just try it and compare both apps yourself, if you're on windows. highly recommended and really free.
  • (2023-02-04) xavier tio: I love the snoop dog voice its soothing lol

  • (2023-01-31) Pablo (Chino) Salas: Practical

  • (2023-01-31) Glen Clark: My entire life have tried to break the habit of reading word by word in my head. I never made it. I managed OK. I was talking to a fellow learner a while back and she said "Then don't try to break that habit. In fact, read out loud, maybe that is your learning style." Speechify saves my vocal chords. Alas there are some e-books it does not work with but it does work with my Kindle so I can use it for my fun reading. I like some of the new voices, especially the John Cleese one. Reminds me of an old professor of mine.
  • (2023-01-31) Carlos Esteban Rivera Triunfo: I'm an author and I love this tool so far. I guess my only complaint would be that if you use it to read off Google Docs when you're using it to edit a document and hear how your writing sounds, the moment you make any change it asks you to refresh the tool, which isn't a problem, except it takes you all the way back to the start of the document, which makes you have to scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN to where you made the change, even if the change might have just been a comma. Why can't the tool refresh, but leave you on the page you're in. Even Windows Read Out Loud does this.
  • (2023-01-30) Carly Eldstrom: I use Speechify for work to help me stay focused when reading lengthy documents. This extension used to work for Google Docs, which is where most of my work is, but has ceased to function (no audio output). I will keep checking in on this as I love the program otherwise!
  • (2023-01-30) Dr. Latish Reed - Leading for Equity: This tool is helping me write a book by listening to what I have written. I love the "Snoop" voice! He helps me visual my project in the mainstream.
  • (2023-01-30) victoria valverde: This tool has severely helped me manage staying focused while reading. Due to my ADHD I find it is very difficult to read to myself but with this tool reading is a breeze. The price is pretty steep at a $139 per year but its so worth it.
  • (2023-01-29) German: работает ток черз рег а потом фиг
  • (2023-01-29) Wesley: Forced sign up, trial text to speech when it's free elsewhere, overall annoying experience. Heres a 1 star free of charge.
  • (2023-01-28) Faye Dumbrigue: Love this extension, helps me get through the longest of readings while still being able to understand the content because of their option to customize reading speed. I'm able to learn and understand at my own pace and I also enjoy the plethora of options for reading voices as it keeps me engaged in the content.
  • (2023-01-28) Dave Culp: I love it...it's been a real game-changer for me! Thanks Speechify!!!
  • (2023-01-28) elberth cabrales: fails often in chrome
  • (2023-01-27) Perspectivas Brillantes: Speechify routinely ignores some words in the pronunciation of selected text. I don't know why, but Speechify randomly skips certain words as though this words does not exist.
  • (2023-01-27) Captain Price: its really good
  • (2023-01-27) Michael Ross: Speechify, I love you. Dwight from the Office just read my research thesis to me and it made me smile. Snoop Dogg, Barrack Obama and a British narrator are also my favourite voices to read me to sleep at night. I could not completed my Doctorate courses with out you. Keep up the great work and can you please add Morgan Freeman or any of Jim Henson's muppets! Could you train your AI with all the audio from the Muppet show? :)

  • (2020-07-06, v:4.0.3) Drew Snelgrove: Selective Web sites
As mentioned by others, the Control graphics look great, but are unusable at bottom on the page. Most of all, the web sites that have been wonderfully read from Speechify for the last 10 months, are no longer able to be read. Help! Drew
  • (2020-07-02, v:4.0.3) Sandeep Thapa: Please give us back the old features
The play button is a distractions. I mainly use option+q to read highlighted text. Now I can not do any of that, I cannot use the shortcut nor can I read the highlighted text. It reads the whole page. The update is just sad. Please, do something.
  • (2020-07-02, v:4.0.3) Jon Bachelor: Not liking the new control on web pages
I believe it came from the update on 2020.07.01 - a new graphic for a speechify control is now displayed in the lower-right of basically all web pages now, and I have been unable to find any sort of preference to turn this off. Please give us an option to turn off this on-page UI element... On some websites, it winds up interfering with their page (here is a screenshot of an example from Outdoorsy: https://share.getcloudapp.com/jkuQOlz1). Even if it did not directly get in the way, I am not a fan of adding new UI elements to a page unless it is absolutely necessary. Just a little toggle to turn it off would be very much appreciated. Thanks for the great work, overall! Jon
  • (2020-07-02, v:4.0.0) Jon Bachelor: July 1, 2020 update not working on Chrome
Just like I see others reporting, the extension just shows the animated 3 dots. I never even get to a login. I can get to a login clicking on the new icon at the lower-right of the web page, but the login page I get to suffers the same eternal 3 animated dots problem as the extension icon in the toolbar.

  • (2019-05-28, v:3.2.7) Waqas Rabbani: Does not show written words
There are few problems with extension; 1. In the pop-up window of the extension, can't see the text along with audio, as it is shown in intro video. I can hear to sound, but there the no corresponding text. 2. When click on extension icon after selecting text, the audio doesn't start. It starts only when I click on extension's icon from right click menu. 3. When audio starts playing, there is no way to stop it. No matter how many times I click on pause button from extension's pop-up menu, it doesn't pause. Please guide me how to fix these issues.
  • (2019-04-30, v:3.2.0) Thalia Rodkin: what extension should I be using
