Our speech synthesis TTS technology is trusted by millions of happy users who listen in various languages and accents in the most natural-sounding speech. Our users have listened to 6.5 billion words.
== Speechify text to speech features ==

➤ Listen at any speed
Read up to 4.5x faster — 900 words per minute. Our high-quality AI voices can read 4.5x faster than the average reading speed so that you can learn even more in less time. While it isn’t easy to listen to 900 words per minute, we won’t stop you from achieving your full potential.
➤ Listen on desktop or mobile devices.
Anything you’ve saved to your Speechify library instantly syncs across devices so that you can listen to anything, anywhere, anytime. Saved artifacts are synced to the cloud and accessible across all your devices. Make sure to install our mobile app on your Android or iOS devices.

➤ Human-like voices
Our voices sound more fluid and human-like than any other AI reader, so you can understand and remember more.
➤ Screenshot image to audio
Found an image with text on it? Take a pic and have Speechify read it out loud to you. You can easily take a screenshot and sync it to your cloud with one click.
➤ Floating widget
The floating widget is always accessible when you need it. Move it around, dock it, or completely hide it.
➤ Other features
• Active highlighting to help you easily read along.
• Inline player seamlessly integrates into all your websites for easy and quick access.
• One subscription and easily sync across all your devices.
== How Speechify works ==

• Speechify scans your active tab in your browser and, in real time, converts the content to a most human-sounding voice.
• Works beautifully with Gmail, Google docs, Word docs, PDFs, Twitter, Wikipedia entries, blogs, news publications, and every web page you visit. It’s perfect for school, work, e-learning, learning a second language, and casual reading.
• You can take a picture of any text and import it into the app to read aloud.
With over 130+ voices to choose from across various languages, you can find the perfect one you love. Some voices are very recognizable. Mr. President, for instance, or even the officially licensed Gwyneth Paltrow voice, is one of our users’ favorites.

Features are good and it is very usable. Improvising the speaking efficiency is required. For example, the speaker rushes the punctuations quickly especially. There are not enough pauses when moving to the next line. Need a longer pause when encountering comma, colon, bullet points. Please add these features to have appropriate pauses it will be helpful.

This is genuinely one of the most impactful tools I use in my professional life. Whenever I need to read something for work (typically in PDF format), I upload it to Speechify’s drive and have a custom voice read it aloud. As someone who finds it challenging to stay focused while reading, especially dense material, having a voice guide me through articles or websites while highlighting each sentence is incredibly helpful. Their “Summary” feature is also excellent for getting a high-level overview of a PDF before diving into a full review. It enhances my ability to retain information as I listen and follow along with the highlighted text. Although my company covers the cost of this tool, I’d gladly pay for it myself. It’s become increasingly valuable as I read more industry-relevant content to stay informed and prepared for conversations with clients and colleagues.

Functions properly without excessive advertisements and doesn’t impact my regular browsing experience. I’d like to see additional voice options in the free version and the option to hear pronunciation during playback.

Product performs well and I like to read along with hearing the words. It helps my retention.

I love that it has various speeds, and it has helped with my ADD while in graduate school. There have been a few times when it hasn't worked correctly, and if you guys could fix that, it would be great. Other than that, it has really helped me chew through the mountain of studying I have every week. One minor suggestion, could you add a Scottish voice?

I have always struggled with reading and spelling. I got to the point where I hate reading even though I love to learn and improve my knowledge. This is only my second day since setting up Speechify and I love it. This is an amazing tool and I'm excited to have found it.

I love reading but have struggled with reading my whole life. I don't know how I got through my first degree. Now, I listen to all my textbooks. I upload fanfics on there since there aren't any audiobook versions for them. I love it. The best thing is how it helped me with writing the first draft of my book. I love writing, but reading back my work was difficult, given my learning disability. So I used speechify to review and edit the entire manuscript. It was a god sent. I used to feel like I was a dumb person for how much I struggled with reading. But now I know I am smart, I just need to do things differently than other people.

Collectively I like the app; however, I have had issues in the past where it has logged me out for no known reason, it has made me update it multiple times in order to read something to the point where sometimes I either have to copy and paste the thing I'm reading or just read without the audio, and when I take photos of pages in a book it sometimes skips words on the page. Otherwise I find the app very useful.

Speechify turns “I’ll read that later” into “I already finished it.” It makes extra reading effortless and actually fun. I’m learning more without even trying. Love this service! j'me

Genuinely, how did I ever function without Speechify? I would always have to re-read sentences because I wouldn't understand what I had just read, but Speechify has made my school lectures go by SOOO much faster and I understand them so much better.
Anonymous
without this tool, I would be lost. I wish I had this sooner.

Speechify’s floating play button is super handy and keeps me coming back. The variety of voices is impressive, with several sounding very natural. But the reading sometimes gets choppy and skips headers on some websites or certain fonts. It also often misses the first word of new sections, and a few voices sound robotic. Biggest downside for me: in apps like Claude using Artifacts, Speechify can’t read the right-side document. I have to copy and paste into a new window to make it work. Overall, it’s a useful extension, but these bugs can be frustrating. Solid 4/5 stars.

I love Speechify. There are some glitches and I wish the mobile version worked as well as the web. But I know in time those things will be updated. I like the fact there is a play button in my emails on the web version and also the the mini player for the Internet. I do wish it would work on ebooks from sites like Libby or Hoopla. Not all books are offered in audio . And those that do have audio don't always have a voice that is enjoyable to listen to. I would also like to say they are always updating and working to make the program better. If you have comments and suggestions they are very open to listening. If they get enough requests they will add options, so let them know. Our voice counts.

Speechify Turned My Library Into a Superpower I’m the founder of I Ninja LLC & Ninja Credit Consultants LLC, and a guy with thousands of books across every format you can imagine: PDFs, EPUB, MOBI, audiobooks, and hardcovers stacked like Jenga. I love audio, but let’s be real: some narrators sound like they’re being held hostage by a comma. With Speechify, I’ve got my own Pepper Potts reading everything, including PDFs, eBooks, and even ChatGPT replies, clearly and fast. I’ve finished 64+ books (a mix of Audible and hardcovers); now, with Speechify, I’m charging to 100 by the end of 2025. Total game changer. Install it.

An excellent tool to help review documents and wuth the new podcast style create new ways of assimilating and sharing knowledge.

Amazingly useful and I love all the methods to add content to convert TTS, I use it every single day.
Anonymous
Good when it works. However, for some academic papers, it won't recognize text--or it recognizes some text on a page but not all (making it useless for those readings). I wish it were better at reading PDFs.

Great extension! I wish there was a lifetime premium option available. It's also a bit pricey. Quality human-like voices though. I recommend it for college students or if you're tired of robotic voices already. I can't imagine reading 50 books in one semester without Speechify! Hope they offer a student discount, or incentives on inviting friends or peers.

I particularly enjoy using Speechify because it helps me identify grammatical, sentence structure, and storyline errors that I might miss during regular proofreading.

I love Speechify. It has changed everything for me because I can read for much longer and for enjoyment. Highest recommendation.

Love the program. Still some kinks on PDF and various article formats to work out, but overall, it has been a fantastic tool.

It's great. I just have one odd request. Theres an accent that is the most beautiful accent I have ever heard in my life and it is in the Netherlands. It's influenced by french and german and it lilts and its so magical. is there a way it can be done? I kid you not. It is seriously....the most beautiful and when done in a male voice thats gentle and reflective....it could heal the whole world its so beautiful.

Cool, but sometimes, especially in Spanish, it jumps between different language accents. When reading Spanish, some phrases are heard as Brazilian Portuguese (this is not a problem, because they are well received in context). The numbers with decimals are misspelled. Overall, the speed to start reproducing is excellent.
