Turn Figma frames into a Google Slides presentation
Convert Figma frames into a Google Slides presentation, automatically.
- How does it work?
After installing the extension, open a Figma file, and look for a play button on the toolbar. Click on it, and follow the steps in the pop up that will appear to complete the first-time setup.
To create a new presentation, click on the play button, create a new Google Slides presentation, and copy and paste the link in the input within the pop up. Keep in mind that the extension will replace any existing slides, and that they will be ordered from top to bottom in your Figma hierarchy. Make sure your frames are in the first page of the Figma file to convert.
Depending on the size of your Figma file (and the number of frames to be converted), it may take several minutes to complete.
- How was the extension made?
I wrote an insightful article in Medium about how I built this extension which you can read here: https://medium.com/women-make/building-a-chrome-extension-to-convert-from-figma-to-google-slides-b98de6603c43
The source code of the entire extension (as well as a minified version of it in PHP) is available in GitHub: https://github.com/alyssaxuu/figma-to-google-slides

- (2021-03-30) Steven Chu: March 2021 review: I searched for a good 15 minutes and that play button does not show in the toolbar- so didn't work. Sad face
- (2021-02-10) Yanis Azze: Nice idea, such a shame it doesn't work, because it doesn't connect to Google API.
- (2020-12-30) Rafael Padoin: Já fiz um teste básico aqui e já gostei muito do plugin. Parabéns Alyssa X pela criação de grande ajuda. Você respondendo os comentários me passa segurança em relação ao plugin.
- (2020-11-26) Ferran Gimeno: Once you understand how it works, it's easy and handy. Thanks Alyssa for this extension. If there was a features wishlist, I would say to keep the text as live text once exported into Google Slides - even if it defaults to Arial. That would be ace! I understand it exports everything at once as a single image tho. Great extension for particular situations.
- (2020-11-08) Mio Sugano: Hi, this extension is very cool. Thank you for making this. But it doesn't work. I managed to find play button on the Figma tool bar lol, and I filled something I need, I thought I'll finally convert it! However, this message appeared; "Oops, there has been an issue with the Google API. Check that the URL is correct, and try again." I made Google slide public and I entered sharing URL of it. I also tried to enter other slide URL. Google account I signed in at this extension and owner of that slide are same. I encounter that message no matter how many I delete this extension and try to run it again. Why do I fail to run this plugin? Is there anything I can do?
- (2020-10-12) Антон Ветров: Не работает
- (2020-10-11) coii chen: Still cannot find the play button beside the comments after I installed the extension.
- (2020-09-29) Alexander Cai: It's a great extension and gets the job done! If I could suggest one feature, it would be making links work in the slides presentation as well.
- (2020-09-14) Godling: seems not working anymore
- (2020-06-23) Mitul Shah: Works great, love it. Just look me awhile to find the Play button. I mistook it for the Prototype button.
- (2020-03-28) hope chen: Hey, i love it and I've already figured it out how it works, this plugin is really helpful to me since I cannot easily do the presentation deck in google slides, or keynote, or powerpoint = = (it's for my boss :( .... ) Now I am so happy i can easily work it in figma and export and editable google slides!
- (2019-12-02) Avadh B.S. Dwivedi: Let me tell you, it works and its not broken at least when I used it, Dec, 19. The "Play" button that that you need to click on to get it rolling is located in the top left corner. It's the last button in the group of buttons on the top left of the Figma tool bar. @Sanjay when you have hundreds of slides, even exporting pngs and popping them in Google Slides is a huge save. Thanks Alyssa for taking time and making this.
- (2019-10-17) Alina Shaposhnikova: Unfortunately it doesn't work, can not log in with google account and see the play button
- (2019-10-11) Anvesh Dunna: I like that it works. But the images created during the conversion are of low image quality. Also maybe it's because of the upscaling from 1280x720 to 1920x1080.
- (2019-09-24) Sophie Tricot: I could not find out how it works. It put the design in to google slide but we can't edit it in google slide.. so what's the point ? Not sure i get it..
- (2019-09-22) Sanjay Makasana: Don't download this plug and connect your google account and figma account, This simply export whole page in png and place in google slide better you should do your self it will take less than minute. if things are not editable then it's useless.
- (2019-08-19) Charles Soll: Does not work for me.
- (2019-08-15) Denis Čumak: doesn't work as of today
- (2019-06-22) Mitali Bhasin: It's functional but so low on usability. The play button is barely discoverable. Also, in the permissions it says the plugin can "See, edit, create and delete all of your Google Drive files". Not sure if I'd want to trust this.
- (2019-05-15) Vibhas Jain: Still cant see the play button
- (2019-04-10) Peter VanDusartz IV: Works good once you notice the little "play" button on the main Figma toolbar.
- (2019-03-15) Claire Arnaud: I could not find out how it works.
