Description from store
Cluster is a window and tab manager extension for Chrome that helps you manage multiple open tabs and windows while using minimal system resources. Cluster also comes with the tools for quick navigation to open windows and tabs, and a tab project manager to easily save and restore windows and tabs sessions as working projects.
Restored windows launches each tab in a suspended state to minimize the load time when opening lots of tabs at once.
Features include undo removed tab or window, sorting windows tabs for better overview, showing the real tab URL when using the Great Suspender, launch the manager using keyboard shortcut, option to save or restore sessions from the manager or drop-down menu, search and filter for tabs by title or URL, easily move tabs between windows, suspend all windows tabs, and more.
Cluster is built to be fast, simple and uses minimal system resources to not get in its own way. A great tool for taking control of your browser sessions, keep things organized and free up memory.
Sync your saved windows across multiple machines, requires a one time fee license that helps support Cluster development and cost associated with third party services.

- (2025-04-25) Serge Goujon: UPDATE: THANKS TO Chrome DEVS, If you had Cluster before it was removed, you can still use it at your own risk. Go to extensions, find Cluster in "Safety Check" part, push ellipsis, "Keep this extension", then turn it on, confirming you know the risks. And it's working!!!! One of the best extensions out there! Does almost everything I have ever wished for tabs management. But it lacks one of the features which can improve usability big time: NAMING WINDOWS! Google has implemented window naming pretty long ago, so I don't understand why does Cluster's developer is avoiding making the same for Cluster... As a surfer with 400+ open tabs at the same time (even more sometimes), I'm telling you it would be way beyond convenient to manage tabs between named windows, apart from Window 1, Window 2, Window 15. Please?!
- (2025-04-06) Riaz Ali: I love Cluster so much I'm going to attempt using Google's Gemini 2.5 to add tab group headings within Cluster's tab lists, wish me luck. I don't know if this helps, but after reading about other people's recent issues, I can say that while using Slimjet browser, Cluster hasn't encountered any issues, lost tabs or having had any other extensions being turned off. Slimjet is a Chromium-based browser, so it's identical to Chrome in most ways, except it has additional features & options. Something I like the most is being able to 'Auto hide on top' the Bookmark Bar, which makes it so it's hidden until you move your mouse under the address bar, so this always gives you more browser page screen space.
- (2025-04-04) John Gage: Added 4/4/25. This is an extension I use every day that facilitates my work 100%. I emphatically recommend it! This is so much better than anything Google has to offer. It makes working with Chrome 1000% easier and more valuable. If you use this extension, you will realize immediately that it changes your life.

- (2025-03-31) Chris Vrem: Awesome extension! I've used it for years, and now Google kills it without warning. To any and all Google employees: Your Learn More / Help section doesn't tell me which "best practices" the extension no longer follows. And that's a misnomer, because the extension didn't change anything. The "best practices" changed, without any warning to users. So now a great extension is dead, and Google won't truly tell me why. Google has engineers that make great software. Yet they can't give users a notification that "best practices" are changing? That the data users had the extension collect may be lost forever? That a tool we've relied upon for years may die? Really? With all their knowledge and skills, they can't give us a simple notification???
- (2025-03-29) Nep Llamo: Best I've used so far. Very easy to merge separate windows in to one. Can be opened as a separate tab, not a popup; that way you can organize a thousand tabs.
- (2025-03-27) Panayiotis Panayiotou: Best tab manager I've ever used. So sad to see it go :/ Willing to pay for this
- (2025-03-20) Carlos Agell Gimeno: Using it until recently. I would like to check whether there is a plan to get it back to compliance. Missing it, alternatives miss key features Cluster excels at.
- (2025-03-15) bane banely: ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! It stopped working and i lost ALL my saved sessions. They were SO SO important (which is the reason why i saved them). Now Gone! thanks alot. EDIT: (3/25/25) I am quite adept at programming/software dev and found and viewed the source code for this extension in order to find and save the data (all my saved tabs/sessions) that simply disappeared one day and have come to the unfortunate conclusion that it's simply impossible to do. With other extensions that have "lost" my data, i ended up finding that data and extracting it. But it looks like Cluster used non-local storage options and without correct api key/firebase credentials etc if you've lost your tabs; there is NO WAY to get them back. Im sorry. Screw you Cluster
- (2025-03-14) CoderQueen: Best Tab Manager extension. Sucks google blackballed them
- (2025-03-13) Anmol Kumar: I'm very selective about writing a review, and I WANT TO review this extension! This has been THE BEST tab manager I've ever used (and I've used a LOT of 'em). It's absolutely infuriating that Google is targeting such a small company to promote its own tab manager product. As one can see from other reviews, many users are frustrated by the sudden removal of this extension, but I don't know how many understand that it isn't the extension developer's fault; it's actually Google making the end users pay the price. I really wish more people understood why this extension, which has received praise for years, suddenly became labelled as "not following best practices." I have been using this extension for at least 7 or 8 years now, and during this time, I have done a LOT OF RESEARCH to find something equivalent (because they didn't support Safari), but I've come up empty—ALWAYS! For those who read this, please know that even though it isn’t supported anymore for new installations, existing users can continue to use it by simply turning it back on (just as I did because I was SO DISAPPOINTED to find out it had been "removed").
- (2025-01-22) Cynthia Ferree: Still works for me on the old version of Chrome. Just upgraded to the new Chrome on my Macbook Air and the extension was turned off because "it is no longer supported". What?! All that work down the drain. My advice is to archive your windows by exporting the saved ones, and if you're like me and have way too many windows open, save the page as an html file and then convert it. You'll get links to all your pages, with headings. Hopefully it will come back on Chrome someday.
- (2024-12-26) Wis: Stopped working, no longer works, I lost my "Saved Windows", the tab no longer loads and I can not export the data for my saved windows.
- (2024-12-20) Nizarudin Tech: All of sudden the "Saved Windows" keeps loading for like 1 minute then poof. All is gone
- (2024-12-08) Brian G.: I was a paid user for a long time, but the domain seems to be expired or non-functional (clusterwm.com) and emails for support bounce back. This plugin was great for a long time, but I believe it has been abandoned. Beware that sometimes the plugin deletes a tab group during a rename. Also sometimes it doesn't synchronize across systems, or when it does, it overwrites groups that were saved there without checking it first. I gave 2 stars because of how long I used it and how much I enjoyed it over the years. If the current maintainer contacts me, we can discuss these issues and I will consider changing my rating.

- (2024-10-02) Yiannis Dermitzakis: Pretty good organizer on its own. I really like the sorting and duplicate-removal functionalities. However, it's missing support for tab groups which makes it really cumbersome to use. Any change in the tab order will break the groups. Please consider adding support for this central Chrome feature
- (2024-09-29) Matt: Very good and effective. Save memory. I have often over 150 tabs, this is perfect for my ADHD brain.
- (2024-09-29) Sue Marie (honda4fun): I have been using it for months and liked it. I was very handy when the Edge browser would close an open window and I could retrieve it. Something changed today and I was unable to do that so I decided to try their "save window" feature. When I re-opened a saved window, every tab says it's suspended, meaning I have to refresh each page. One star rating because I got a message when I got to this page that it won't be supported much longer.
- (2024-09-26) Allen Alberti: pretty damn good
- (2024-09-14) Jeff N: This is perfect except one thing: is there no way to save all open windows at once? If there is, I can't figure it out.
- (2024-09-10) Amir Uval: the best tab organizer for me! And I tried quite a few. I hope google won't remove it from the store
- (2024-08-26) Emily Carter: Who is looking for an alternative, I'm moving to TabXpert, it's MV3 compatible and has import from this extension.
- (2024-08-21) Shadi Mahasneh: was a great tool up to that time until I lost all my tabs, contact email can't be reached, and I just found out the extension is marked as unsafe in the extensions list, do not use it
- (2024-08-21) Dean: You can save Windows with tabs under them, but there does not seem to be a way to open multiple saved windows at once.
- (2024-08-18) Jens Mühle: This is by far the best Tab Manager available for Chrome and the main reason why I have stayed with Chrome for the past years. With Google/Chrome moving to make various extensions obsolete, such as Cluster - Window & Tab Manager, uMatrix, etc., I hope that the developers consider to port their extension to Firefox. There is absolutely NO decent tab manager available for Firefox that comes close anywhere to Cluster WM. I think that Cluster WM for Firefox would be a hit. I would even be happy to pay for a license - if reasonably priced - and I am sure other users would do so as well.
- (2024-08-16) Steve Welham: I have tried almost every tab manager extension including Acid Tabs, Tabli, Onetab, Clutter Free, Tab Session Manager. For my use case none of them come close to the capability and user experience of Cluster Window Manager. Key advantages of this app are 1. Clean, at a glance view of all tabs that, with column view, makes use of horizontal screen real estate instead of just a vertical scroll. 2. Easy multi-select and select-all, with batch tasks such as moving tabs between windows, deleting tabs, detecting duplicate tabs. 3. Bulk merge window option It would be great if it supported tab groups. You can still have tab groups, but the extension does nothing to show them or help manage them, Some other tab managers can do that, however even without that feature I find this easier to user. I really hope the developer can make the necessary updates to support this extension and follow the chrome best practices. I would pay for this extension but the buy license option is broken on the website.
- (2024-08-01) Frank Utne: This extension works well but has a serious flaw. If enabled, it opens tabs to the right of the last tab opened. I don't want that and there is no way to turn that off. I end up disabling the extension most of the time as a result.
- (2024-07-31) Ruth Kaplan: Excellent
- (2024-07-23) Paul Manole: The de-facto WM/Tab manager for me for long time now.
- (2024-07-12) mosky: need rename active window
- (2024-07-10) Tejiri Ewherido: Lost all my tabs and the extenstion stoped working out of nowhere.
- (2024-06-21) magiki imagination: give you the ability to merge more than two saved windows together at the same time, but doesn't tell you it's only going to keep the tabs from two of them, and there's no undo. i hadn't opened those tabs in a while so pretty sure i just lost them for good
- (2024-06-16) Katharine Fig: Fantastic Extension, one of my must-haves
- (2024-05-21) Mitchell Lokey: The extension is decent but I ran into a MAJOR issue. Hotkey assignments need to be optional/customizable! Cmd+M is a hotkey in the extension but also Macs hotkey for minimizing a window. Cmd+, is this extensions "quick sort" hotkey, it's also the hotkey for subscripts in google docs, AND for mac preferences. Will delete this extension if not resolved :( Google docs is more important. And resorting my tabs after accidentally running "quick sort" messes up my organization and I can't undo it! It's not worth the hassle. Edit; was never resolved even a year later. Extension deleted.

- (2024-05-19) ptm: It definitely helps with managing a bunch of tabs, but...this thing it weird. The average battery temperature on my Chromebook is around 84 degrees Fahrenheit. But when using this extension and the 'Pause' feature for multiple tabs/windows, the temperature skyrockets to around 96+ degrees. If I just leave things alone, let Chrome do it's own thing, everything is fine. If I intentionally suspend tabs with the 'Pause' feature, my Chromebook runs hotter, lags more, has difficulty loading pages/programs, and just...everything is slower and worse. Suspending tabs with this extension is somehow more of a resource hog, and could lead to me damaging my Chromebook because of intense heat buildup.
- (2024-05-05) Deathrape2001: GR8 az tab manager AND Session Saver (by 'managing' windows =) but loses a star because have 2 hit 'refresh' 2 update when making N E sort of change, like deleting or adding something. WAAAY Better than 'Tab Session Manager' in a lot of ways, starting with no artificially limiting the interface 2 a ridiculously tiny box that won't let U individually select things E Z =D
