It is common for streaming, shopping, and WordPress sites to open unwanted pop-ups or redirect users to ad pages. This free, open-source Chrome extension blocks all types of popups and popunders before they are issued. It pauses window opening requests for user attention. Unlike other popup and ad blocker extensions, this one blocks requests on the original page rather than closing the target pages.
You will get badge count and optional page notification when a popup is blocked. A badge counter over the notification increments if more than one identical request is issued. For previously visited sites, the extension automatically allows or denies requests. It identifies the action based on your previous decision.

What does happen if I have this extension and a website tries to open a popup?
The extension blocks this request and displays a notification on the top right side of the page. Enjoy the browse distraction-free browsing. You can:
1. Deny the request
2. Allow the request
3. Open the request in a background tab
4. Redirect the current page to the requested source
Do I still need an AdBlock extension?
This extension does not block any network request or ads like adblock extensions. It is a single-purpose extension to protect you against popups and popunders. For a better browsing experience, use this extension along with uBlock Origin. Consider it as a complementary extension to reduce distractions and disturbances.
Does this extension support keyword shortcuts?
Yes, visit "chrome://extensions/shortcuts" to configure your custom shortcuts for opening the UI or denying the last action.
Can I ask the extension not to show page notifications when a popup is blocked?
You can open the toolbar interface and mute all notifications or notifications for a single page.

Notes:
1. This extension used to be called "Popup Blocker (ultimate)".
2. By placing your mouse over a notification, the counter stops counting so that the user can review the popup request.
3. By placing your mouse over a notification, you can get the full URL in the tooltip (when the full URL is not visible).
4. You can ignore page notifications for a site by adding the hostname to the whitelist (renamed to exception list).
5. This extension does not block overlay pop-ups like cookie messages.
6. It works offline. There are no server-side activities whatsoever

Meh! its great at blocking the pop ups but that said it generates its own notifications that are more debilitating to your open page. they do block your interactivity with the chrome page open in front of you. i could really live without being notified that its done what it was supposed to do. alas the constant crashing of pages ive had to remove it again. it has great potential but right now its oxymoronic in its applications, it does what it says it stops,
Would Recommend! I've had it for a few years now, it helps greatly with sketchy links. Most sites have tedious pop-ups, this extension helps keep everything in one place.
This is a must have to browse the current internet.

definitely helps, especially when accessing websites with lots of ads, it shows the notification with options you can deny or allow it to redirect you, or you can ignore it and it will deny by itself.

Outstanding is all I can say. I've been reading manhwa's comics, novels, or manga's in different websites who have a habit of redirecting you to harmful websites every click. This one worked wonders and they even give you a notification, plus the name of the website trying to open or redirect you, then give you options to block or deny. I am loving every second of this. Super good extension. If you don't want the notifications, just turn it off in the settings. Don't be an idiot like Atticus Black and give it one star without even learning the extension.

This is easily one of THE best extension on the webstore, does EXACTLY what it says and it's super lightweight, almost minimalistic, yet it's straight to the point pop-up blocker with any function or option you could imagine. 10/10.

This extension blocks pop-ups by CREATING A POP-UP. EVERY TIME. I'm trying to block pop-ups and you give me more pop-ups? Does it also rain upwards where the developers live?

It works well again. I'm glad, as I missed this one. Just keep choosing deny and eventually the notices of blocking that pop up domain will stop. I've always like this extension, it seems to learn? Tested a few popup blockers but this one was the only one which worked for me!!
Does its job extremely well. I haven't yet fully figured out the best settings for my optimal browsing, but once I do it'll be absolutely perfect. Great job by the developer
