Selection Colors
Change the font color and background color of selected text.
The standard dark blue highlight and white text is horrible and hard to read. With this extension, you can easily change the selection effects to be more readable and beautiful. Use Selection Colors to make your browsing experience even better.
Custom Selection Color:
Pick any color and transparency, refresh each tab, and select text
Instructions:
1. Open the options for this extension
2. Pick a color (recommended: default settings & only change the background hue)
3. Refresh each web page
4. Select text to see the new colors

Works like a charm after reloading the page! You can customize the colo(u)rs of the highlight and even of the text, which I find epic, there is even a little preview in the settings window! I'd love to see a text box for pasting hex-codes so you don't have to dial in the sliders if you don't want to! Oh, I'd also love to see a "rounded corners" feature but I don't know if that's possible! One thing: it doesn’t seem to work on Google. Discord, YouTube, and even Reddit work fine, but Google just doesn't - no idea why. Might be out of your control, so I’m not blaming you for it.
Instructions should say to re-start chrome after install. Does a perfect job! It didn't work until I closed chrome and restarted it then it worked very well.

did NOT WORK AT ALL? Very Mad ! ! as I need light orange or bluish pg. bkground to see and larger but dynamic text/font to read anything! good opinions on pg, helped abit as I also need/use night -dark themes to keep white brightness from causing me terrible PAIN + ADD TO MIGRAINS from MVA... please help as I can No longer fix my comp. to change All whites into soft colours mentioned? vLC did work with back in cour Now upgrades, I can't get HOW? On some sites (like discord) when it doesn't work, you can't select any text at all. Unfortunately I don't see chrome giving me an option to disable extensions on some specific sites, I can only enable it on specific sites. If wish there would be an option to just disable it from specific sites like for example you can do with AdBlock.

It is amazing! Perfect for me. It has good amount of controls to get the exact highlight color that you want. It's simple to use, so I like it. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because it doesn't work in all the websites (though it works in most). By now Wix is the only website in which the 'Selection Colors' wasn't working. Thank you so much for this extension!

I had a lot of trouble viewing highlights on my Chromebook, this resolved it perfectly.

Ublock doesn't play nice with this - as in disables it and requires some tinkering to get on the whitelist. Otherwise this extension works wonderfully and is exactly what I was looking for. Namely as a companion extension to Dark Reader, since its dynamic setting at the moment doesn't always really work very well at keeping text selection visible... it basically makes it next to impossible to see the the blue highlight over the text. Anyway, I've now set up a swanky orange highlight color with turquoise font coloring, which works wonderfully on dark backgrounds.
