Put your mouse over any Chinese words on a webpage and it gives you the pronunciation and definition. Simple as that!
The BEST plugin for students of Chinese now on Chrome!
Browse Chinese websites with this handy set of training wheels. Read articles in Chinese and quickly see the pronunciation and definition of new words as you encounter them. Just point your mouse to the word you want to see and it will popup with your preferred pronunciation format, and the definition.
Full page translation won't help your Chinese get any better, but with this you can lookup and save words instantly without leaving the page or consulting a dictionary. One word at a time you can conquer Chinese reading fluency, we did :)
*NOTE* This is a pre-release version so not all the features that are available in the Firefox version are here, but enough of it is, so we wanted to have this out there for all the people that have been asking for it.
We are working hard on getting all the features ported over, so go ahead and download this now and it will automatically update as we add the features.
We look forward to your feedback!

- (2020-11-03) Olivier S: Ted Chang said in 2015 : "The zhuyin and traditional characters option doesn't work. When you select them in the settings section, it pops right back to simplified and pinyin. Fix this and the tool will be perfect." This issue has not been fixed since then.
- (2020-09-03) Arnaud Bredeloup: best extension for chinese learner
- (2020-07-20) Kenrick Davis: Good app but recently I've found the reviews 'fly in'. It's really horrible!!! Otherwise good
- (2020-06-30) Faith Chow Mun: Its amazing. Wish i could hear audio pronounciation too. Otherwise its perfect
- (2020-03-30) Ryno Calitz: Such an incredibly useful and handy tool, thanks so so much!!!
- (2019-09-11) Teresa Bouffard: Don't even know how I would possible learn Chinese this fast without it.
- (2018-11-29) Brandon Kemp: Very useful, but this version refuses to save my settings. I prefer to see traditional characters first, and eventually I'd like to practice my zhuyin too, but the Chrome version constantly reverts to simplified and the automatic settings. Frustrating and keeps me from getting the most out of it.
- (2018-05-15) Alexander Hart: Definitely one of the best apps out there - hugely useful for anyone learning Chinese and consuming Chinese reading material. My only problem is that I can only use it on Chrome! I hope you guys make one for PC so I can read PDFs, too. AWESOME APP.
- (2018-05-03) Amy Lewis: It is very useful to see the translation quickly. I don't have to use google translate, which can switch meanings and characters, which is super annoying. And it does give me accurate meanings. However, it can take a while to start, and you have to refresh the page to activate it. Otherwise it will seem like crap. But I enjoy using it, and it extremely functional and useful for me, especially since I am a student.
- (2018-02-16) Ben Miller: Works very well, unlike 3 other plugins I tried, fast.
- (2018-02-11) Ash Furuta: This is a very useful tool for Chinese learners. However, compared to the version available on FireFox, it lacks the copy function so it is not so useful. I hope the developer would add that function pretty soon. Jiayou!
- (2018-02-02) Levi Tooker: Extremely useful for learning Mandarin from online materials intended for native Chinese speakers. I cannot recommend this enough for anybody studying Mandarin.
- (2017-08-01) Soyeon Cheon: omg i love this app
- (2017-07-08) Daniel: I really like this extension, but the options menu is just broken and has been for at least 2 years based on prior reviews.
- (2017-06-09) Ken Kaneki: An essential tool for any Chinese Leaner Five star
- (2017-05-15) Daniel Chan Khalil: The settings won't save. Every time I try to edit them they just reset to the default values every time. Unfortunately this makes it useless, as I don't use pinyin or simplified.
- (2017-04-04) Wesley Alcoforado: I loved it. Very useful. 谢谢!
- (2017-03-08) Samuel Jackson: Just fantastic. Extremely convenient. Although people say some of the settings don't work, but generally speaking this is the best dictionary available and is well integrated. Give it a try!
- (2017-03-03) Nolan Bensen: This app works great and I'd love to use the Japanese one as well when I hear it's finished, but it cannot earn the 5th star until the settings change options actually work. Ted Chang below pointed out that the phoneticization and simpified/traditional display settings don't change when you change them; in fact none of the settings do. So-called "sepia" and "paper" colors apparently do not exist, nor do any of the other setting options other than the defaults.
- (2017-01-26) Corey Ashford: I use this extension quite often in both Chrome and FF. Works great, though it does mess up keyboard input when it's turned on. However, it provides such a great utility, I still give it five stars.
- (2016-12-27) Aileen Rosario: Esta es una de las herramientas mas utiles que he encontrado en toda la web para los estudiantes de Mandarín. Muchas graciass!!!!
- (2016-10-26) Georgina Camacho: NO FUNCIONA
- (2016-09-15) panrui: Love it! It helps navigating the web and learning new words. Now, since Google thinks I'm writing in German: Ich liebe es! Es hilft, sich im Netz zurechtzufinden und neue Wörter zu lernen.
- (2016-07-27) 六郎山崎: The zhuyin and traditional option doesn't work! But other than that it's good. I would love for that to be fixed if possible :)

- (2016-02-11) mahmoud movassghi: love it.
- (2016-02-05) Anna B: I've loved this forever in Firefox but I finally changed to Chrome. I cant wait for the word list function to be added
- (2015-12-29) Жеремей Сенько: zhuyin option doesn't function! reverts to deafault settings!
- (2015-12-28) Essential for Chinese learners. I can not get Zhuyin pronunciation working though.
- (2015-11-04) Yuri Gervasiev: dosen't always work
