This extension connects your browser to the JDownloader, which is a Java-based download manager. The extension offers two operation modes:
1. Sends downloading jobs from the right-click context menu
2. Interrupts the built-in download manager and redirects your requests to the JDownloader
The second mode is disabled by default. To enable it, click on the browser action button once. Whenever the interruption mode is not needed, click the browser action button one more time to disable this optional feature.
Since this extension needs to execute native commands to communicate with the JDownloader, a native client is needed. The instruction to install this NodeJS native client is shown on the first use. Also note that this extension only calls the JDownloader, so you need to have this application on your operating system for this extension to work. You can check the code of the native client on https://github.com/belaviyo/native-client/releases. There is a short video tutorial about the installation of the native client and its usage:

- useless extension, copy paste link is faster. Not working on YT. IDM does that in one click.

- Does not respond to HLS or m3u8 streams which IDM and other downloaders, even simple extensions do without any hassle. The interface is intolerably ugggly, the software itself comes bundled with malware. Despite all this they have the audacity to ask for donations when uninstalling! This useless junk shouldn't even exist for the sake of humanity!

- To all of the people complaining about how this is complicated...clearly you have not used JDownloader. The only reason to use this is for JDownloader. If you don't need the functionality of JDownloader, I highly recommend you use something else. If you don't know if you need the functionality of JDownloader, you probably don't. Here is how I use it: I can copy a link URL to a site that contains a list of links to other (paid) download sites with the file (mediafire, rapidupload, etc). I have JDownloader configured with credentials to my debrid service. This service gives me access to ~20 paid download sites (this is configured in JDownloader). When I paste a link, JDownloader will crawl that page, extract any download links on subpages, and only add the urls for the services I have access to. If you think this extension is complicated, you aren't ready for JDownloader. Try something like Downie.

- Works well, but it would be good if you can implement a mimetype wildcard support, suppose I don't want extension to interrupt any image files, I tried using image/* but didn't worked. Thanks in advance

- One of my most used extensions. But there are issues where it opens multiple tabs when I launch Chrome for no reason. It would be nice if would pick resolution in context menu instead of having to go into preferences to change it.

- I installed this yesterday, and today, just after I opened chrome it started bombarding "got empty response" notifications, and opened like 1000 new tabs causing the browser to freeze.

- It's confusing to filter stuff on a page to only what you're trying to download. You also have to install a standalone app on your computer. It also randomly downloads whatever the heck it wants from a page you're looking at. I don't know how to make it download _only_ the stuff I tell it to. It's a very powerful tool but the UI is pretty bad--that plus randomly downloading anything it wants without being prompted is pretty rough.

- This is great for when downloading files from filehosts, automatically starts the download using JDownloader and overrides Chrome's default internal downloading... you can set which filetypes you want JD or Chrome to handle in the options menu
