Description from store

reword is a tool that helps prevent online bullying behaviour, identifying insulting statements in real time and highlighting them with a red line.
Like a spellchecker, the red line of reword is an intuitive and non-intrusive way to make people reconsider what they write. It doesn’t censor, but prompts them to make a better choice.
Don’t be mean, and the red line will never appear.
Our goal is to have reword exist wherever people talk to each other - online and on their devices - to keep people from making mistakes that they’ll regret.

Unfortunately it did not work. I installed this and was able to continue cyberbullying my friends and loved ones with the same impunity I enjoyed before. No red lines appearing anywhere other than under my many spelling mistakes. Not good.

It is a good start but if someone wants to say something nasty, this is not going to stop them, actually if someone is a bully they will not install this in the first place. However I can see where you are going with this. Although it is not perfect, vrey buggy and faulty but the idea behind of it is good. What i though it does is: let's say i am on my FB feed, it scans through all the texts in the page and crosses the ones it identifies as bullying so we can report it. The more bully's account are reported the lesser they exist on social media or it may discourage them to bully next time. Just my two cents.

Does not work

Even if this tool didn't sound super Orwellian it's still extremely inaccurate crossing out things like "Cat's are bad at fetch"

You forgot to credit George Orwell for the blueprints

Don't agree with it, but tried it anyway. It got old when it started to say that things i was saying were insults when they obviously were normal words like "okay". Bad idea that doesn't even work.

All I have to say is that lack of a space beats this app you can say anything offensive by not spacing between two words e.g. Ihate you opposed to I hate you, the former not picked up the later was. Case in point. P.S. to see that this has been around since March and it is defeated by the space bar.

The entire thing is incredibly faulty. Full review here: http://bit.ly/2bttlOa

you'd probably have more success with this thing if you just stripped out the speech recognition engine and made it a word replacer that just replaces all insults with *TRIGGER WARNING*

Clever!

This fantastic tool stopped my friend calling my mother homosexual. This is the greatest thing to happen to me since at least 2003. I want to thank the developers and even their pets for what they have done. 10/10 would reword again

Jon McMahon 2016-04-13

Reword stopped me from making mistakes that I would regret. It prompted me not to call my friends mother homosexual. 10/10 would reword again

Lacks Privacy - no way to stop location tracking. By default you are opted-in to data sharing. Also doesn't work on social media pop-ups.

I am a strong believer in exercising caution in what I write. While I find that this extension does work in almost every text area on the web, I am sad to say that I must uninstall it. While I own a Christian charity and write, primarily, to a Christian audience, I find that this extension flags any mention of church, Christianity, Christ and many other "religious" words. A large part of anti-discrimination is religious tolerance, and it feels like this extension discriminates against exactly that.

Reword seems to only work with Social Media sites. I was hoping it would work like the Google Chrome spell checker and check anything typed in the Chrome browser. In particular I would want it to work with Gmail and Google docs. Our school blocks Social Media so it is of no value to us. (Edit 4-7-16) I recently noticed it was working in Gmail. However it pops up without redlining words at times.

Tracks Location & Secure data.. Buyer Beware!!! I installed this on my daughters computer. But turns out that this extension tracks my daughters physical location and even can read all the secure data including passwords. That is scary!

És perfecte! Una millora que podeu fer, és fer-lo disponible en altres llengües. It's perfect! An improvement that you can do, is to make it available in other languages.
