HostAdvice is een gratis tool die gebruikers in staat stelt om — met een enkele klik van de muis — te ontdekken waar websites worden gehost.
Deze uitbreiding zal eenvoudigweg een kleine knop aan uw browser toevoegen. Als u vervolgens op een website bent en nieuwsgierig bent wie het host, klikt u op de knop en u zal alle informatie ontvangen die u nodig hebt.
Dit is een belangrijke tool om verschillende redenen. Als u geïnteresseerd bent in de aankoop van de domeinnaam, kunt u hiermee achterhalen met wie contact op te nemen, zelfs wanneer whois voor een domein de contactgegevens niet weergeeft. U kunt ook contact leggen met het hosting bedrijf als de website uw rechten op enigerlei wijze schendt en u kunt het hosting bedrijf vragen om desbetreffende website uit de lucht te halen. Dit is waarschijnlijk de enige effectieve manier om een site die aanstootgevend is voor een persoon of gemeenschap, enz. aan te spreken op hun gedrag.

- Waste of space sadly, it gets it so wrong as it's basing it on DNS and not IP for the A record. So ALL my sites it incorrectly guesses because the DNS of a lot of UK hosts use incognito DNS, but IP look ups do reveal host which I'd hoped this would use. Removing it and trying something else. Shame.

- Not what I expected. I was hoping to have in-extension data instead of taking to a new website. I checked couple of websites, the data is not correct. It shows NS info as hosting info instead of showing IP address whois data.

- בהתחלה לא ממש הבנתי מה זה עושה, אבל אז התקנתי ובאמת זה נותן לי תשובה לכל אתר היכן הוא מאוחסן. זה איפשר לי ליצור קשר עם מישהו שכתב עלי טעות באינטרנט והוא הסיר אותה (לא היה מייל שלו באתר, רק התוסף הזה איפשר לי דרך חברת האחסון ליצור איתו קשר). ממליצה מאוד, זה גם קטן ויושב יפה בצד בלי להפריע
