Have you ever given up finding out a new post to read?
It can be time-wasting to walk through from the top of the timeline.
Facemark allows you to mark old posts so that you can easily pick a fresh post.
It marks automatically while reading through your timeline.
Your read history will be saved only in your browser without any remote API call.

- (2020-02-18) Manuel Silva: Yes it dims, but it can't hide. Anyway it's far more reliable than others I've been testing. I settled on this extension. Fortunately the posts are dimmed and keep dimmed after refresh, better than other extensions that fail this memory and forget to hide after refreshing. Also, it is able to dimm posts, even on the "topstories" mode (https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_nor#topstories) and even in "chronological" sorting mode (https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr)! I would also be interested in further development towards facebook.com/events, for example.
