Makes note editing take up the full browser window

Image from store Google Keep - Full Screen Edit
Description from store * Allows Google Keep editing to use the full browser window. * Allows toggling full screen on and off by clicking on an icon added on the notes. * Remembers full screen status across sessions * Supports Dark Mode * Works with non-English language settings * 🆕 Options page to customize behavior (width, padding, background) * 🆕 Customizable keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+F or Cmd+Shift+F by default) to toggle full screen on and off * 🆕 Other minor bug fixes & enhancements View Demo Here: https://cmp.onl/tjXo WARNINGS & IMPORTANT NOTES * Use this extension at your own risk. It shouldn't cause problems, but I can't make any guarantees. It's wise to keep critical notes backed up. * This extension only works with the website version of Google Keep (eg. https://keep.google.com/keep/) - it won't work with the "app" version (the one you might install and launch from your app menu -ie. for offline use). * At this time, clicking the extension icon itself does not toggle anything - click the full-screen icon added to the note itself (or use the keyboard shortcut) to toggle full-screen on and off. INSTRUCTIONS * Full-screen is enabled by default when you first install the extension. * Use the full-screen icon at the bottom of the note to toggle full-screen on and off as needed. * Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut, which you can customize at "chrome://extensions/shortcuts" * Your selection will be remembered between notes and sessions. * Open the extension options (from a note menu, Keep menu, extension icon menu or extension page) to customize behavior. • (2023-07-03) Mac Nero Music: I've used this extension on my personal account, so now I'm installing it on my producer account. I use Keeps to write lyrics and music-related notes, so thanks a lot for this!
  • (2023-07-03) Brandon Cameron: It's another one of those extensions where you're thinking to yourself "Why didn't google make this standard in the beginning?" With that being the case, I am VERY thankful for this extension. I use Keeps multiple times a day so being able to see my longer lists onscreen without having to scroll is awesome. I'm glad you made it

  • (2023-06-01) Elman Bakhish: I lost all my data (list of actions), I do not recommend using this to handle important notes. I used this extension in Google Chrome.
  • (2023-05-14) Harry w: I just installed and it works great. I notice this is a toggle for the entire Keep webapp, not for individual notes. So if you open note 1, set it to full screen, then every other note you open will be in full screen. It stays that way until you change the toggle in Note 1 or any other note. No problem for me and not a complaint - it took a moment to figure that out. This doesn't work on the Keep app on your phone or tablet. It only works for Keep in a Chrome browser window. I've used it on my Chromebook and my WIN 10 PC and it works great in both cases. Comments about needing increments like 40/60/80% scale are fine, but surely one can just scale the Chrome window to suit? It's not like other webapps in Chrome (Google News, Calendar, Gmail) offer incremental scaling. Chris, I think you've done an excellent job. BTW one of the main reasons I installed is your privacy policy (The developer has disclosed that it will not collect or use your data)! Thanks for that. Keep up the good work!
  • (2023-04-06) Arek Łuczyk: Great idea but as others have mentioned, it needs custom window scaling (relative to the browser window rather than the whole screen). I know you said last year you'd do it, any news when this feature might be coming?
  • (2023-01-31) Joydurn Yup: does what it says ty
  • (2022-12-27) Nick: Можно было бы сделать небольшие поля по краям, например около 5% от ширины экрана

  • (2022-09-26) Cre8ionz: Looks quite good.. Just like and "txt" File on Windows :D
  • (2022-08-26) Jason Hawsey: Exactly what I was looking for
  • (2022-07-23) Dylan Kenneally: Very helpful - I've been wanting Google Keep to have this for a long time - no idea why they don't have it in there already. Thanks Chris!
  • (2022-07-02) Alexander Rendar: Thanks for your work. It's a great idea, and I wish the almighty Google would just let us maximize the note without 3rd party addons. However, I would ask for a custom size here, e.g. 50%, 75%, 100% of the browser window. Ideally, provide a slider to go from 50%to 100% in small increments. On a large monitor the full-screen view is overwhelming and unnecessary, while on a small screen the user may need the 100%.
  • (2022-04-25) Joe Mezzanini: Simple, yet very useful. Makes things so much easier Thanks. Works great.
  • (2022-01-13) Orch 1: THANK YOU. Sometimes it is good but there is no way to turn switch between full screen and normal screen. Which for small notes is still useful. I cant use this like that.. THE ICON IS MISSING NOW, I CANT SEE IT.
  • (2021-12-19) David Charles: I've just installed this. Seems to work great so far, and it is SO much more pleasant editting notes full screen! Thank you!
  • (2021-12-05) J: This extension does what it says it does!
  • (2021-11-28) Yuri: The way this extension fulfills a very specific need I have is unbelievable. I normally use Microsoft Sticky Notes to keep a small post-it in my desktop for the whole day. However, Sticky Notes requires a MS account and the OneNote app in my smartphone in order to sync. It's not always reliable and I don't like the extra effort. But, with this extension, I can just create a Google Keep shortcut that opens in its own window (like if it was a desktop app), pin the shortcut to the taskbar, resize that window to be as small as a MS Sticky Notes, create and click a "main" note and use it as a post-it for exactly as I used to do with Sticky Notes. But now I'm doing that using my Google Account that is waaay more reliable to sync (and I can use Keep instead of OneNote on my smartphone, which I prefer). And the fact that this is open source makes everything better, since I can take a look at the code and be a little more relaxed on the privacy and security side.
  • (2021-09-25) Emily Jiao: This is such a great add on I love it.
  • (2021-09-21) Aliane Abdenour: Useful if you want to use Keep as a teaching tool to show the program and hide your own notes !
  • (2021-09-01) aPpYe: Whew! I noticed this one had disappeared for a little while. So glad it's back! ... So, is it possible to perhaps add an option for enabling/disabling word wrap?
  • (2021-01-19) Jeric Jan Cantil: A godsend! I'm so glad this extension exists. I had to use notes.io before but then I'd lose all my work but now I can use Keep and also have Full Screen. Thank you!
  • (2021-01-18) masaki yamada: simple and useful. love it;
  • (2020-12-09) Jae Leigh: you utter legend, this was legit driving me bananas. thank you so very much!
  • (2020-10-07) Nuel PDG: it works! Now I can make draft using keep with big screen. Thanks dev.
  • (2020-02-19) Sean: Please add an option for 80% / 70% / 60% width with 100% opacity background? Some wider screens make the note too wide.
  • (2020-02-09) Čestmír Dolejšek: At last way for me to organise long shopping list :D Thanks
  • (2020-01-10) WT: Wow, finally, a life changer! :) Having a full screen editor for Google Keep makes it finally usable on desktop.
  • (2020-01-01) Roberto Nogueira: Really useful! Thank you!
  • (2019-12-31) Jonathan Adams: Chris Putnam has written a must-have extension for Google Keep power users. Those who have given less than 5 stars should go back and see how far he has taken this extension. Intuitive functionality that Google should pay him lots of $$$ to incorporate into Keep as part of Keep's native functionality for desktops, or at least make a really big donation to a charity of his choice if that interests him more. Chris, thank you for making one small part of a big world work so much better.
  • (2019-08-27) Sylvio: Whoa, this is GREAT! Thanks, dev! Much appreciated, keep up the amazing work. :) I loved Keep but what kept me from using it is the small card layout. Full-screen makes it much more productive.
  • (2019-08-24) Wayne Anon: great! makes a big improvement to using Keep
  • (2019-05-18) Stefan Pharies: A beautiful solution to one of the biggest annoyances in Google Keep. A thousand thanks for making this!! To those who have trouble making it work: yes it's a little hidden. Once you know where it is, that's how you want it. Watch the demo video, or: 1. Open an existing note. It doesn't (and shouldn't) work on new notes that have never been closed. 2. Look for the little full-screen icon at the bottom of the note window, between Archive and the 3-dot More menu. Click that. 3. Voila! The extension button in the toolbar does nothing, you can hide it.
  • (2019-01-17) Use Google Keep for some really important things in my life, this helps a lot. Thank you for making it.
  • (2018-12-27) Martin Lichtblau: It works and I love the fullscreen notes. Should be an official feature!
  • (2018-12-12) Hrishikesh Garud: Working as expected.
  • (2018-10-26) Uki D. Lucas: It would be nice if it worked. Not a word in extension, or on the GitHub how to make it work. I installed it in Chrome, MacBook Pro, it is featured in extensions (other extensions like Grammarly work in my Google Keep). I checked all possible menus for option to go full screen, but could no way to activate it.
  • (2018-05-10) R.L. Dane: Nice, but you *REALLY* need to be able to turn it on or off by clicking the button, or at least the drop down menu. It would be best to have it activated as a button on each google keep note
Gracias
  • (2017-04-29) Павел Фамильярный: Thank you!!! I dream about it!!
  • (2016-10-07) Chris Penny: Does't seem to be working for me. Is there a particular way you are supposed to use this that I am unaware of? [EDIT] It does work! It's just for editing, you need to create, click done, then open again and it works! :)
