I just keep loving Natural reader every passing day. The voices are simply NATURAL!!!!
Actually free and works really well. Best solution by far out of all the alternatives I've seen.
I have been using natural reader for writing books as its sometimes quicker for me to hear it through then to read , and I can read it later , it helps a lot with time wise issues and for when I don't have my reading glasses right at hand.
Very good. Just what I was looking for. Simple text to speech extension for any website.
That’s an excellent app! It really helps me stay focused when reading long articles, especially those written in a language that isn’t my native one.
Natural Reader has been a complete game changer! It is worth the money to purchase the upgrade and have all of the amazing features at your fingertips; I promise, you won't regret it! Anyone with any type of attention or focus issues, learning disabilities, a busy life, or even just a lack of fondness for reading...this app is designed for you. I am 49 years old, taking a Masters program and with a busy life schedule, time is not always on my side, so to find time to sit down and get my readings done, page by page, is not always possible. So, I scan the pages, take a picture, or sometimes I am lucky enough that the document is located online, regardless of how the reading is found, I upload it into the app and voila! I have someone there, with a voice and speed of my choosing. I can't say enough wonderful things about it. I LOVE NATURAL READER! :)
need to pay for voices in other languages, even worse than speechify
Thank you, NaturalReader! After spending a significant amount of money on Speechify—a platform that turned out to be disappointing—I was pleasantly surprised by NaturalReader. It has provided excellent and reliable service at a much more reasonable price. I'm happy and highly recommend it!
excellent by my purpose
there is no free voices, only Plus AI, Pro, and Premium. Can't use.
close to perfect online reader although it does break on a small number of websites.
best free tts imo. it's exactly like the website but easier to access. please never change!
Natural Reader is just the reader I've been looking for!
Thank you for creating and maintening this app NauralReader
I'm having a diffcult time where the app is only reading cliffnotes and not the full article.
Best!
I dont often write reviews... But this one was just annoying, was using it thought it was ok till 5 mins were up, and apparently its a subscription, and i thought ok sure how much, but for about a $100 and something per year? for what also, it makes free voices annoying to find, it took me a while to find where they were, and they sound more robotic :/ i wonder if they even own all those voices..? anyway, not worth it BYE
I find that I do have to follow along because it skips anything in parentheses, which is helpful when listing books and dates. However, this app is helping me significantly with my graduate studies, especially as someone dealing with dyslexia who has a hard time reading. I went through my undergrad without this as an option, but thankfully, my grad school offered me this fantastic tool. It is reading my PDFs and even the pages in my Populi courses, such as my syllabus, without me even having to download it ( I added it as an extension to Chrome). I can change the voice, speed it up, slow it down. All schools should be required to offer this to help their students with different abilities.
It does nothing. I'm in my Google Doc, I highlight text or I place the curser where I want it to start reading, I click the blue N - nothing happens - it just sits there.
This app has been so helpful to me in my college classes. It can read my PDF books out loud to me, and I can also read on my own, highlight, and take notes. I can search my books for keywords to find quotes that I need when I'm writing papers. I'm a big fan!
good waaaayyyyyy better than ram consuming speechify
this is the only free reader that reads almost anything on chrome, in my experience. Super useful
Wow, this is by far the best.
I tried speechify and this one is much more smooth in my opinion. Even the free voices are close enough to human voices that you can understand without following along. Quality extension!
I love this Natural Reader. It does not sound like a drone, it sounds like a person reading. It is great for my bad eye days, for mult-tasking, or just listening. Thank you!
Its ok. I think the developers are too money hungry. They allow you to clone your own voice and then pick it as the reader. Thats good right? NOT !!! You will get less than 5 minutes listening time with it before you're told times up, and there's also a time limit on the free voices as well and its not enough to make me keep the app or extension. There are other choices out there so, no big deal.
My Speechify stopped working in the middle of an article. So I aborted the Speechify platform. Then I saw another text to speech program pop up. I clicked on the go button, and a beautiful voice of a young woman began reading the rest of the article to me, and did a great job. After she finished reading the article, I found out it was Natural Reader that had come to my rescue. Thank you Natural Reader!
I like using this app very much especially when I need to change or use a voice for my phone as a greeting when someone calls instead of my voice because we know that there are scammers stealing our own voice. I'm hoping that natural tech support or IT team can consider putting down the Spanish language of the Hispanics here in the US because you have the voice of a Spaniard but that's in Europe Listening to a person from Puerto Rico but were born here in the United States I use it on my Microsoft language when I need something to be read in Spanish and it's clear in understanding because there are some letters that the spaniards pronounce that for the formal english of ours in the United states do not pronounce their way. Just a thought.🤷♂️
Works great. Thank you for your service.
Allows you to pick a voice you like, and auto-scrolls the content while reading, which is great. I'd love to have a speed setting, and I'd be happy to pay a few bucks for it - and not a fourtune as is the case for some of the competitor plugins.
Wow, wow, just wow! This reader is amazing! The free voices are great and the paid ones even better. Thank you NaturalReader developers!
JUST WISH THE FREE VERSION GAVE MORE MINUTES
Very happy with this AI text to speech tool. NaturalReader is helping me better understand and visualize the book I'm trying to read.
Let me know if you make it work with extensions.
Excellent tool to read web pages and even PDF's! Many thanks.
Amazing voices. They are so much better than any other voices I have tried. So helpful for people with bad eyesight or those of us who don't want to strain our eyes on bright screen. And in 2025 it has got even better with a wider range of voices, more natural and human sounding. The built in reader is fabulous. Good work.
I appreciate Natural Reader. I have Dyslexia and to hear a book being read is super beneficial to me. Thank you. I also, like that I can change the speed for my listening skills.
Why do I have to turn on the sound on every website I have turned off by default to hear the text?
Good voice quality, but frequent errors force multiple clicks and retries. Same issues arise constantly with each new text segment. Still usable.
Great for people with reading troubles. Reads well regular webpages, but straggle a bit to read Pdf documents opened in browser, sometimes skips same paragraphs for unknown reasons. Even I used Natural Reader as separate installed software long time ago, browser integrated variant is way better. My only hope is that additional voices could be a bit cheaper and we can just buy them forever not for 1 year only.
it's great. Really cool than some of the expensive alternatives
its a good platform but the preview is to short and the free voices are all just typical microsoft voice Other wise its great and works well and is easy to pull up!
Very good.
One of the few that actually work
Easy to use, plenty of free options that get the job done.
NaturalReader is one of my favorite apps. I often read PDF documents and up till now I couldn't find a Reader with a 'read out loud' function that was adequate. A good Reader needs: selection of voices, highlight words as it reads, flexibility to start, stop, move to different sections of the document easily, etc. Only Natural Reader does this. I tried all the other 'read out loud' apps and none of them worked properly. Here is why this is important: A good 'Read Out Loud' app allows the reader to both 'hear' and 'see' the words of a document at the same time. This provides two inputs to the brain rather than just one (see). These inputs reinforce each other greatly improving memory and understanding of the material. All reading should be done this way if possible - especially in schools and colleges.
ugly voices
Great extension. Always useful.
awesome extension, but very expensive...
Can't give it a 5 because we don't have the option to download the spoken voice to take on a walk. Also there is some glitches when I try to have it read a document. It reads the first letter of the first word of a sentence and then reads the sentence. Sometimes in the document it reads inside parenthesis too. Also I don't like subscriptions. If they had the option to just buy a month without subscribing I'd prefer that. I would rather buy all the months upfront so I know exactly how much money I will have.
