Description from store A chrome extension that presents your tabs vertically. News: - Tab preview support is here! - Dark theme support is here! Features include: - Dark theme. - Display tabs vertically in a sidebar on web pages. - Tabs are displayed with the same style as Google Chrome. - Drag and drop to reorder tabs. - Mute tabs. - Search and filter tabs in the sidebar. - Toggle the sidebar by clicking on the extension icon. - Toggle the sidebar using the keyboard shortcut: Cmd + E (Ctrl + E on PC)(Using keyboard shortcuts are recommended once you formed the corresponding muscle memory) - The sidebar is resizable. - Auto show/hide sidebar. - The sidebar can be placed on either the left or the right side of the window. New! More features to come! Such as tree styled tabs! Stay tuned! Some known problems: - Vertical Tabs only works on regular html pages (which is 99% of the time). However, it doesn't work on your Newtab page, chrome web store pages, or PDF pages. Unfortunately that's the way it works in chrome, and there's no known way to get around it currently. - It works by injecting an iframe into a webpage. Therefore, zooming in/out on the page will cause the vertical tabs to become large/small. There's no way to get around this. - Please refresh the page after a version update. For example, when you find that the toggling functionality gave up working, it's most probably I updated the version, and refreshing the web pages (using Cmd + R / Ctrl + R) should fix it. Thank you! Built with React, Webpack, and love by @lxieyang.

  • (2022-01-19) Szlag Trafił: Why isn't the pane scrolled so that it could show the tab title that is active? Why isn't the scroll position maintained between the times when Vertical Tabs show up (in the auto-hide mode). Also, slimmer pane, as it was mentioned in the first review would be very desirable. Actually I had an extension that worked like this (but not out of the box, I had to hack it; but it was possible in Firefox, in Chrome it's not, I assume): there was a slimmer margin set and a wider margin set and in the auto-hide/show mode the pane was switching between these margins. So usually the pane was slimmer but I could make it wider. That was great because I could work with tabs anyway, and I could make the pane wider when need arised.
  • (2022-01-18) Cương: some time it take too much ram, 2GB for 1 extentions is too much
  • (2022-01-18) Tadas Armonavičius: It would be great if the extension wouldn't bug out all the time. 1. Ctrl + E doesn't work as Chrome is using it for "Search Google" and there are no options in the extension to change the shortcut or disable Google's default one. 2. If You try to open the side tab by left-clicking the extension when You're on the New Tab, not only does it not work (which is not a big deal and I understand why) but it won't work anymore once You close the New Tab or open one of your already opened tabs. Only relaunching Chrome fixes this. If these issues are fixed, I'd bump the review +1 star each. EDIT: I should've used it a little more before writing a review, the extension doesn't work on New Tab and Chrome Web Store. When I switch to other sites, it works perfectly fine. So +1 as promised. Still wish there were options for different shortcut.
  • (2022-01-14) Gabriele Trovato: Does not resize the browser layout, with the result that for websites like Gmail, some buttons on the right become unreachable. The result is that you have to disable and reenable the tabs all the time.
  • (2022-01-11) Khan Jones: Doesn't work. Can't convince it to come out on any tab that wasn't the initial tab that popped up after I installed it. Yes I read the various shortcuts recommended. Maybe this is optimized for Apple
  • (2021-12-15) David Klement: The extension is useless in browsers that support tab groups (e.g Brave). If you want tab groups AND vertival tabs, use Edge (it's awesome, it just doesn't have that level of protection on Android as Brave has).
  • (2021-12-09) Qays Poonawala: With the limitations of the browser, this is great!
  • (2021-12-07) Thomas He: Works reasonably well, I tried to hide the original tabs at the top of the browser (since they are no longer needed), but that option doesn't seem available.
  • (2021-12-05) Rock Wilson: Ctrl+E(Short Cut) Doesn't work, Because Chrome's Open [Search bar] shortcut is the same, I hope I can change the shortcut. And sometime the vertical tab won't appear event I click the extension open.
  • (2021-12-04) Nikki V: I've been looking for a vertical tab extension for a while- finally found one... its just very minimal and it seems like it never gets any updates. I was hoping to like it, but I'll probably be uninstalling it. As theirs no option to make the font larger or anything such as zooming the text... so I cant see it. Making it useless for me.
  • (2021-12-02) Melanie Sage: I just needed something to list out the text for all of my tabs. This will make it a lot easier to see which (if any) particular one of the 300 tabs I have open has any relevance to what I'm doing. For this simple use case it looks like it works perfectly. Here's to hoping I close those other tabs... Thank you!
  • (2021-12-01) Zi Jie Lim: not really working well but great try.. i wish it can minimize like edge to the side and extend to the right if cursor is around at the tabs.. i like the idea of having hotkeys to "call" the vertical tabs but still having both hotkeys and mouse would be better..
  • (2021-11-24) Pio Soesetio: Sometimes works, sometimes it just doesn't want to appear. With many tabs open, it takes a while for the vertical tabs UI to load. EATS UP CRAZY AMOUNT OF RAM. With around 20 tabs opened, the google chrome task manager shows that this extension itself uses 6 GB of RAM. Doesn't makes sense. Definitely not worth eating up my RAM only for vertical tabs.
  • (2021-11-23) David Campbell: I like the look of it. However: 1. Tab panel does not appear on all tab pages. 2. The squeeze feature does not work on youtube 3. Need more styling options. For me point 1 is the most important, get that fixed and I can start using this extension. 2 would be nice, just make sure that the squeeze feature will work for every web page visited. 3 is a nice to have and would put icing on the cake.
  • (2021-11-18) Anna Lippert: I just disabled this application mainly because the pop-up window could not be repositioned ― forcing to refresh the page in order to remove it. Soon becoming an annoyance. I would add, subsidiarily, that the main usefulness of this application would be to free up the horizontal space of the tabs. Aside from that, the application seems personally to have run smoothly. Which is why, in hopes of improvement, I just deactivated it versus uninstalling it.
  • (2021-11-15) Josh Wilson: pretty handy, would be 5 stars if it could also do bookmarks and if it could arrange tabs by domain
  • (2021-11-09) Vivek Makwana: Only working on few websites
  • (2021-10-22) Wiktor Johansson: Pretty useless considering it wont show up all the time when changing tabs.
  • (2021-10-20) Zar Bin Tar: I have been using for about a year, its ok, not perfect. You cant drag and drop or modify the tabs at all really. The latest update ruined even that much. So now I have a vertical side tab extension that puts the tabs none vertical just like the horizontal way chrome shows them above to begin with. junk now
  • (2021-09-30) Fan Zhang:
  • (2021-09-17) Anita Feng: Nothing like the Microsoft Edge vertical tabs. It's really quite useless. It should hide the horizontal tabs and show on new tabs, which it doesn't. This just means my screen space ends up getting hogged up by both vertical AND horizontal tabs and who wants that?
  • (2021-08-15) yamaken: ''Ctrl + E'' not work on PC.
  • (2021-07-27) Joni-Jo Des Brachun: On some web pages, the Squeeze webpage option does not work when the sidebar opens - the tab bar is positioned over the text of the page - covering some of the content :( I would also like the tabbed panel to be permanently docked instead of appearing every time a tab is opened.
  • (2021-07-11) Sabri: not working
  • (2021-07-08) Jordan Gunn: Negative reviews seem awfully nitpicky. This extension is great and does everything it promises.
  • (2021-07-05) iCoor Athtamis:
  • (2021-06-29) John Chang: the extension has two bugs: 1. it doesn't show on new table page 2. it works wrong when new table page is exists.
  • (2021-06-24) JaMarcus White: Great potential if it worked properly!
  • (2021-06-17) Milton Gonçalves Quilzini: Auto-hide/reveal simply doesn't work at all, unuseable
  • (2021-06-10) Jan Goh: Doesn't support tab groups. No tree-style display. For me, it just takes up more space. The one good thing about it is that it is a persistent side-bar rather than some OTHER floating window to manage.
  • (2021-06-06) Kumar McMillan: This isn't working for me on the first three websites I tried. The content of the webpage gets obscured by the tab panel.
  • (2021-05-19) Ling Mao: So far so good
  • (2021-05-06) Martijn Beenders: What is the shortcut for Vertical Tabs? Documentation/ help ?
  • (2021-05-03) Franz Fuchs: immense struggle with only 150 tabs open, horrible performance
  • (2021-04-28) Maisi Li: great app! few nits: The tabs tree sometime will overlap with the left page a little bit. I cannot edit google doc with this extension open.
  • (2021-04-22) Ken Keeton: Buggy. Half the time it won't open automatically or even if you click on the icon. Doesn't work with all websites like tweetdeck.
  • (2021-03-22) Kenneth Barre: Nice try, but really unusable. Microsoft Edge has a nice, native vertical tab feature that works well. Sadly this Chrome version works poorly. Keyboard shortcut is incorrect. Tabs on left cover portion of the webpage, if the tabs even show up. Too inconsistent to rely on.
  • (2021-03-19) Sarah D. E. Staples: It works when it wants to, no other time. I have tried the commands recommended by blah blah and the developer.
  • (2021-03-14) Mikołaj Antczak: It cuts off part of displayed website.
  • (2021-03-14) its4fjm: Works fine for me...
  • (2021-01-30) Jim M: Great extension!! Unfortunately my use case is to use with Confluence and Jira. It works only one on tab (for whatever reason) for Confluence and not for Jira... But perhaps I can open a dummy tab to see the tabs vertically. Are you going to be able to support Tab Groups? Would be great then if the tab order matches the new tab order by grouping and see the groups themselves in the vertical list. Will be much more useful in finding the tab I'm looking for...
  • (2021-01-28) Todd Andrews: Love this extension! I wish the "search tabs here" would remain visible even while scrolling.
  • (2021-01-05) Óscar: It has a decent design, but performance is really bad. Too often it doesn't even work.
Awesome

  • (2020-01-06, v:1.5.1) Michael Hartley: Toggling the extension, but no tabs appear
My vertical tabs aren't appearing. At first I thought it was becvause the shortcut wasn't working, but when I re-bind that, sure enough, the little googly eyes on the icon toggle on and off, but no vertical tabs can be found. Chrome Version 79.0.3945.79 (Official Build) unknown (64-bit) running on Centos 7.0. Multiple Chrome windows open, with multiple tabs each.
