• (2023-10-29) Ville Walveranta: This plugin is *really useful as far as saving one's eyes is considered. But, I found the plugin somehow interferes with GitHub API access. I've been plagued with GitHub API hanging especially with cross-site auth requests for some time, and I finally decided to see if some plugin was causing it. It came down to this extension. Enabled: cross-site auth to GitHub hangs, disabled: it works. So, while I keep the plugin installed for some late-night editing, when I will for now keep it mostly disabled as I use GitHub quite a lot.

I highly recommend using this together with another chrome extension called "Dark Reader" and using its allowlist to have a custom dark theme for several websites. And then use "Sites Dimmer - sharp brightness reduction" to reduce the brightness of any other website automatically, and you might have to exclude the ones which you've configured in "Dark Reader". Now you can use HDR in chrome w/o disturbing bright colors.

I am a web developer and needed to see the real colors in a website I was working on, so I wanted to dim the colors instead of inverting them, like Dark mode extensions do (although I still use them). So if you really need or want to enjoy a website in its original color and protect your eyes, I highly recommend this extension.

• (2020-10-07) Aansherina: Deleted my previous review as the things I have problems with were resolved. I really liked the "Invert Colors" features, especially the change of link color to a soft orange (At least in YT), My only problem with this is the thing where you can find the play and other buttons which has a bit of a awkward ombre, and takes up about a quarter. You won't notice it's a video filled with colors like "The Better Boarding Method Airlines Won't Use" by CGP Grey, where It is barely noticable past the bar, You'll only notice that the bar that holds the play and the such buttons are a little lighter though if you watched a video that has black borders, you'll notice it, not really a dealbreaker, but kind of awkward-looking. The first video I watched was "Fiction Blue / Hatsune Miku" by "Ayase / Yoasobi" where I clearly noticed it but you'll see it more clearly by watching a video with a black screen, In honesty I would have not even notice if it weren't for the black borders of the said video. Also really liked the fact that the dimmer is still there even if It's not useful for me and liked the fact that it changes automatically.
• (2020-09-16) Aansherina: For some reason, the first time I tried it out instead of dimming it, it did the opposite, so I uninstalled it and went back to this page but then found out I *had* to download this again to review it, so I did and I downloaded it, then I tested it out again after writing a semi-complete review and found out it was actually now doing it's job, but it's kind of an ehh, I think it would be great if we can change the colors, since I wasn't really too fond of the dark grey (It wasn't dark enough for me) and the search bar and bookmarked isn't affected so there's this disharmony and it exaggerate the greyness to it, overall, I think we should have more options, since grey isn't dark enough, atleast for me. and somehow get it to affect the bookmarked and search bar Edit : Had to download this again, since I forgot to "turn it off" even though i had uninstalled it :/
