  • (2025-03-10) Tony Robinson: There is one improvement that I suggested and the author already did one tweak to make a change in that direction (I may be asking for something that no software is able to do: not only take out an offending word, but the phrase or sentence that it is found in, so that brains do not fill in the blank). However, this program does exactly what the programmer claims. Unless you want to spend the time downloading video and text files to edit them manually to replace them with acceptable phrases, a time consuming task that I have done, this is a quick fix to easily watch videos that you would normally pass by. I use this software to erase subtitles of Korean/Japanese/Chinese videos where many of their translators act as though all English speakers use or accept profanity. March 10, 2025. Still using this since 2018. Still great and easy to use!

  • (2025-03-07) Deloncia Dean: For a while it was working great but then I went to watch Abbott Elementary on Hulu and it was no longer blocking out the cuss words. So, I deleted the ext. and downloaded it again but it was still allowing the cuss words. I then checked the site access through manage extensions for Stream Clean settings and Hulu was no longer one of the sites it can work on. However, I did still see Disney Plus, but when I went over to watch Abbott on there it still did not work. Unfortunately, I couldn't watch my show. :(
  • (2025-02-15) AJ: although it blocks the cuss words, it also removes everything they are saying. so it blocks everything!! its like im basically watching the show muted with no captions
  • (2024-12-24) Ryan Martin: Great idea, but it did not work. The subtitles showed the words being asterisked out, but we heard the words anyway. Not sure what to do. Trying to watch Netflix.
  • (2024-11-05) Emily Mendoza: Great for showing videos in my classroom. Does this work on streaming services such as MAX or Peacock?
  • (2024-09-20) guillaume nel: works great on Disney plus and a few other platforms Get it now there is also great support

  • (2024-05-30) Greg: Can you add Discord as well? Also, what do we need to do to get it to work? It is installed and enabled but still not filtering out. Testing on Youtube for now... Thanks.
  • (2024-04-10) Saurik: Thank +++++++ god for this extension. My mother can't stand cussing so that limits viewing to basically PG rated shows. With this now we can watch many more things. It's not 100% perfect because people invent weird cuss words but it's 99.99% effective. Other instances are when there's overlapping speech it doesn't always correctly identify it or when the subtitles are just simply incorrect. It does cut out more than JUST the cuss word, but it's not three sentences. It's several seconds. Better than not watching at all, cheers!
  • (2024-03-17) Patrick Javellana: it workes well, however it cuts out so much more than just the bad word. is someone just quickly says something, it cuts out like 3 more sentences after that. makes it hard to watch stuff. if it just cut out the bad word, or even 2 seconds between the bad word and the goes back to audio, it would be better. other than that though, it works well.
  • (2024-01-04) Liv’s Lettering: It works on everything but Hulu inside of Disney +
  • (2024-01-01) Dejonai Burton: It is not working on crunchyroll
  • (2023-12-11) William Betts: It's not working or me on Netflix on Chrome. I don't know why it's not working. I ahve added all the words and still it plays profanity.
  • (2023-08-07) Hannah Burke: I seem to really be stuggling to get it to work on hulu. Am I doing something wrong? I have it turned on and the show ready to go but nothing changes.
  • (2023-03-24) Greg Reno: Works ok. It does block words, it does miss words too. In some cases it blocks out whole sentences. Someone mentioned changing the seconds to 0 but I do not see that option. Also, if you set it to hide captions it does not work. As someone else mention captions must be shown. I am looking for a replacement for VidAngel. Maybe it is just a thing with the latest version of Chrome. Version 111.0.5563.65 (Official Build) (64-bit) It is great work. I would love for it to be better. It might make a great alternative.

  • (2022-11-20) K G: This is the best, most flexible and easy-to-implement profanity filter we've ever used. Our family uses this extension with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Freevee and more several times a week. We have a laptop hooked up the HDMI on our TV. Now we can stream so much more than we could before. Just an excellent Add On!

  • (2022-09-12) MrJacquers: It was working but doesn't seem reliable. Sometimes it only censors the subtitles and not the audio on Netflix.

  • (2022-05-10) Erik Malkavian: WORKING GREAT. You have to have the Closed Caption displaying but the option to add your own specialized words is fantastic. Also on Youtube Google filters some words and you have to add two underlines in this for those words to be filtered like this __ and then save and those words will filtered. Thank you Author!

  • (2022-04-29) Jasmina Clarke: Amazing app. We have tried so many profanity filters in the past and finally found this gem! It really works. Doesn't crash. Love it. Had a minor technical issue and the developer contacted me back so quickly. Highly recommend.

  • (2021-10-16) Lael Lawless-Goodrich: Great extension but only one problem. The new update of Chrome does not work with it. Have Chrome 92.0 on my Mac and 94.0 on a PC. The extension is not working on 94.0. Still a great product but wanted to give heads up.

  • (2021-10-15) Philip Scott: Works great on Disney+. I was having issues finding an filter extension that worked liked I wanted there. The feature to hide all subtitles and only show them when a word is being filtered is an amazing feature, since I CAN'T STAND watching movies with subtitles on. Love it, and thanks!

  • (2021-06-21) AAA LLL: Putting 3 stars because the idea behind this is amazing but it doesn't seem to work for me at all. Chrome + Amazon Prime video. I have it enabled and configured but it doesn't seem to block anything at all.

  • (2021-06-10) Jeff Allen: Works really well. My only suggestion for improvement is that even when the "mute for x seconds after" is set to zero, it seems to mute a little too long and you sometimes miss context in the scene it the entire sentence is muted. But overall it works great.

  • (2021-05-25) Rachel Bybee: This app seems to work really well for me on YouTube and Amazon Prime! To test that it was working without exposing myself to profanity, I added a regular, innocuous word to the list of filters (e.g. "unicorn") and then watched a show that used the tame word repeatedly. It worked very well on videos with set captions and not just auto-generated captions.

  • (2021-01-27) Donivan: I just downloaded this to use on netflix. but i started a movie and they would say the swear word and then there would be a line after the word. So it didn't take it out. On some words there are * and it covers the word up. But then on the words I really don't want to see, it doesn't work. How do i fix this? Thanks! Claire

  • (2021-01-02) Chance Peterson: Tried watching a movie on Amazon Prime but it wasn't working. I see that you respond promptly to people in an attempt to help by asking them to email you. I'd be happy to do that as well but I don't have your email address...
