If it "broke" your USB drive, try formatting your USB drive. Look it up if you don't know how to do that. Apparently, the extension also has an "Erase recovery media" option that can also help. This tool is awesome. Yes, you can use it for recovering Chromebooks. But the cool part is the fact that you can use it to flash just about any ISO from the browser! Without installing a separate program! Even if you're not on ChromeOS! That's awesome imo.

This recovery Utility helps not only save time on my computer yet my students who frequently use there stunning laptops within school hours. Managing my time when starting out as a professor is not easy, nor is it simple for the children to watch me go in a state of limbo or purgatory. Yet my embarrassing problems came to an end when I installed chrome recovery Utility, a life changing event so spectacular one of my students in hysteria yelled, "Mr. Schwartz is a genius he figured out his computer!" If anyone got issues with USB you can fix it. Open disk management and click removable device and fix it. Refer Youtube or Chatgpt for more.

pathetic. can not erase and reformat anything once this app has killed your USB device. google's long term persistence to own hardware is untenable, I hope it leads to a worldwide class action

Would put 0 star if possible. Trying to fix Chromebook that's not working by recovering with a new version. Keeps exiting with the same error code: Unknown error: CHROMEOS_IMAGE_BURNER_ERROR. Please try again. Messed up a perfectly good USB of mine.

Do not use this if you're trying to make a bootable drive, lost a 128 gb 3.0 USB drive while trying to fix my PC. Though the process ran smoothly when I was still clueless as to whether or not my USB drive would work after the formatting process. Just hoping there's a way I can repair my USB drive now, seeing as it cost me 20$ only to have it be bricked by the extension I was trying to use just to make the damn thing able to install Windows 10 (I used the .bin file renaming method.)

I already tried this more than 6 or 7 times, it kept saying the same thing like "Download interrupted, please check your network connection and try again" again and again, what did I do wrong? My internet connection is totally fine.

use rufus (dd mode)if on windows and dd if on Linux but do not use this. if you are ChromeOS just use another pc

Worked first time! Got a 16gb flash drive new put it in it downloaded in a few minutes and it worked! Super happy!

The download does work you just need to wait. Hopefully it works, but if it fails the first time, do it again and it will work. Took two tries but it worked and I was able to get my pc back up! I wouldnt download this recovery file from anywhere else but here. Just be patient and have something else to do.

The Utility gets on 0% for a few minutues, just wait, it will do it eventually, just a bug rather than it not working. Writting the Image to the USB is also slow, took aroud 25mins.

Works fine if you wait for it to prompt for permission to write to the USB. Was stuck on 0% for a minute or two.
