ABOUT
Download AdBlock’s free ad blocker to block ads everywhere on the web. AdBlock also protects your browser from malware and stops advertisers from accessing your browsing history and personal information.

AdBlock for Chrome works automatically. Just click "Add to Chrome," then visit your favorite website and see the ads disappear! Choose to continue seeing unobtrusive ads, whitelist your favorite sites, or block all ads by default.

AdBlock participates in the Acceptable Ads program, so unobtrusive ads are not blocked by default in order to support websites. We believe users should control what they see on the web, so you can easily opt out in AdBlock’s settings.

==============================
NOTES

* The notice you see about having access to your history and website data is automatically generated because AdBlock runs on every tab. But it does NOT actually monitor your browsing history or require your personal information to work properly.

The functionality is good, but there's too much personal stuff involved. The recommend is give it up.

lol im not paying for features this used to have

I'm deleting it and it still gets back 🤬🤬🤬🤬

It blocked lots of ads for me and saved 46 minutes of endless ad torture in the past 9 days!

Why am I now seeing advertisements for AdBlock in AdBlock? The tools is good, I have used it for many years now, and it has worked silently behind the scenes doing it's job -- even if there are interruptions in YouTube. However, if I really want to skip adblocking for free without interruptions, there are plenty of other options already doing this as a basic service within the platform -- let's see what happens in 2 days when the "free trial" ends. If it gets worse, might be time to swap to one of those browsers.

I didn't install an adblocker to see ads for your adblocker. No compromises.
Anonymous
you need to pay for it now not really worth it i donated when it was free but asking for money is kinda lame. ill just switch to brave
Anonymous
loves to pop up and ask you to pay for stuff

Adblock (getadblock.com) changed its revenue scheme, which means poorer ad-blocking performance to drive users to a subscription.
Anonymous
doesnt block all ads doesnt block all means no point in having it some ads gertting through means ads get through which means his is pointless, if you cant just download it and it works why use this one there are hundreds of actual good ad blockers
Anonymous
I downloaded this extension and it worked immediately for Chromium.

i love this adblock i love it more when its free

I used AdBlock for one reason above all else: blocking YouTube ads. It worked perfectly for years, and now you've decided to lock that feature behind a paywall. That's a terrible decision. If I'm going to pay a subscription just to watch YouTube without ads, I'd rather pay for YouTube Premium than pay for AdBlock Premium. At least then I'm supporting the platform directly instead of paying an extension for a feature that used to be free. This change completely defeats the reason I installed AdBlock in the first place. Uninstalling it is an easier choice than paying for a feature you've taken away.

Doesn't work anymore!

Slows down Chrome!

lwk was boutta call it fake, but I read the reviews and fixed every problem it had for me (mainly just that it wasn't working). Though, I actually thought of restarting Chrome and it worked (at least the ad block bit). I tested it on the most ad-heavy site I know, and there was no ads*.

MY FRIEND LITERALLY JUMPED OFF A CLIFF BECAUSE THIS DIDNT WORK NOW I AM FREIDNLESS :(

Calling this an ad blocker is laughable. I get that projects need funding to continue operating but consistently nagging me to subscribe monthly is probably even worse than the ads that it's MEANT to block. And when I say meant it's because 99% of the time it doesn't even do that. I'm trying to do something but after each click it starts giving me another ad and as soon as I close the last one and click on the button it does the same thing. I very rarely write reviews because I hate speaking out but when something like this is considered the BEST on chrome then I feel like it needs to be said

I have used this plugin for years. Years upon years. And I always found it very helpful. I have even paid throughout the years to support the app. I use this app to stop other sites and apps from taking over my computer and forcing me to navigate through their hoops to get to where I need. It's always been great. But now you're regularly hijacking my browser to tell me why I should support you. And it overtakes everything. Middle of a meeting, working with a client, writing something important and BOOM - my browser forces me into a new window telling me all the reasons I should pay to support them. Guess what? I used to support it without the obnoxious hijacking. I used to love this app but now it feels a little like paying a neighborhood 'enforcer' money to keep my business safe from the same gangs they run.

Profound gratitude is hereby extended for your magnanimous consideration and invaluable assistance.

useless ahh

Annoying spam created from an adblocker itself is indefensible lmao. Later.

Showed a good preview, then when I clicked 'ok' it just blocked the whole freaken site - except for an ad! No obvious way to undo. No feedback system. Had to uninstall the extension just to resume normal browsing.

Useful!

NOTICEABLY worse lately. Coincidence that the 'free trial' ended? After using it for years? I think not. Very disappointing.

MASSIVE LAG everywhere, causing browser to hang and even delay responses to keystrokes, when extension is disabled, the lag goes away

Paywalling their #1 feature. The issue isn't whether the extension is technically "free." The issue is that YouTube ad blocking, which was previously available, is now being pushed behind a paid subscription while this Kat C. developer keeps responding to reviews by saying, "The extension is free.". You can't be that disingenuous, giving everyone such canned responses, beating around the bush. You're answering a different question than the one users are asking. Yes, the extension still blocks ads on many websites. That's not why many people installed it. We installed it because it blocked YouTube ads. If that feature now requires payment, say so plainly instead of repeatedly pointing out that the basic extension is still free. A free app becoming less useful while its most valuable feature is monetized is a legitimate reason for a 1-star review. Don't even respond, we're not looking for your fake commentary

Force user to pay now, good luck, you think you are google? you think you are youtube? what content do you even provide? and how many other blockers out there are free??? I'd rather paying Google 5 times amount than paying you, you are a f traitor, it should have been open source, and there will be open source blocker rasing, good lucky, greedy f.

It worked perfectly fine both on Youtube and on other sites, plus the ability to deactivate for the specific site proved very useful. But I'm NOT gonna start paying 4$ per month for once free extension.

good ad block

Not sure what happened but, this has not really been working over the past couple weeks. A few ads starting leaking through a little over a week ago but, it feels like I don't even have the ad block anymore. I have totally restarted Chrome and it almost feels like it got worse after I did that.

very good this extension

I pay for Adblock VPN. It never connects when I'm abroad. It doesn't block cookie pop-ups. It does not block ads.
Anonymous
i would have given 5 star because it works as it intended. but recent update shows that it now needs "Read and change all your data on all websites, Display notifications" i am okay with displaying notifications but why do you need to read and be able to change all data on all websites? that is a security concern. if the developers could give some clarification about it then that would be very nice.

GOOD!!!!!!!!!

I got this adblocker in 2023 and originally, I said that it asked me to donate and I said no. Since then, life is still great. I deadas$ blocked ~50,000 ads based off what my browser has shown me the last few years.. It is very effective against youtube ads, random popups, and so much more. Occasionally this has it's own ad pop up once every couple of days or week. But honestly, because it's free, I only have to close out of the tab and go back to doing my thing. I'm rewriting my review so more people see that it's still working perfectly fine despite what everyone else says.😂 Also, to those losers that is disliking every 5 star comment, you suck.

...these are also bad. I blocked adblock's domain on network level, but they still try to shove their bs onto my screen. I *do not* want ads, if it was not clear to them. And now they're trying to talk to me on youtube, shoving their "trials", with no way to turn it off. Very annoying.

I like it, I was scared at first it would cause a virus, but its pretty good.

Hello everyone, This is sanjay , i did not expected how this extension are very excellent to use as the youtube web browser and all another websites. This extension are very helpful to workspace of business and all other things of sources I glad thanks a lot to the chrome web store Thankyou very much

works perfectly

This works well enough, but there are popups that open a new window and force your focus to it, asking for a subscription for "better ad blocking" (i didn't notice any difference when i was given a free trial). I got an ad blocker specifically to STOP popups, not to just have different, arguably more intrusive ones.

i love this app, it help me rest

This ad blocker is probably the BEST out of all
