• (2025-05-27) For some reason whenever this extension is connected on Vivaldi on Mac, it redirects all my Google searches to Yahoo through some site called finditonlinenow. Whether the extension or app is connected, it happens. As soon as either is disabled, it stops happening. Very odd and wondering now if the extension has been compromised.
• (2025-05-26) Windscribe is one of the few companies I have encountered that absolutely refuses to issue a refund if you miss the trial expiry date, even if you haven't used their service for even a second. They are aware of this through their logs. This behavior strikes me as dishonest and indicative of a lack of customer care. I will never use their service again in the future.
• (2025-05-20) Was working great for years but now it messes up my browsing experience even when it's turned OFF. Can't click login buttons or recaptchas. Very strange to affect my browsing features when turned off. Look into this ASAP. As soon as I disable it, everything works again.
• (2025-05-19) Absolutely useless service. Downloaded the extension for Chrome. But I couldn't launch it. First it asked to register an account. Then it asked to update to the paid PRO version.
• (2025-05-18) Windscribe used to be a legitimate company in Canada. Not only are they now selling swag to make a few extra bucks off of you, they charge in US dollars for all their services now. This makes them one of the most expensive VPN's in the world to use. They think people will spend $9 US a month for this when you get a real VPN like Nord for only $4.39 CAD per month or Proton VPN for $3.79 CAD per month. It is too bad that this once great company has fallen so far, so fast.
• (2025-03-22) Well, the windscribe vpn itself seems good, but this extension kinda messed with my web browser. The web fonts in google docs stopped working, and i ended up getting completely blocked by every meta service (..both of these things i've ended up tracing back to this extension). That time i chose to go through "Troll Antarctica" station caused quite a bit of trouble across the web for me 🙀 (i never really understood why windscribe needs a browser extension, when you have the standalone service... so anyway, it's turned off for now)

• (2025-02-18) Windscribe Extension is detected by YouTube and some other websites as an Ad-Blocker, and of course websites won't open. I had to disable it to browse those sites Edit: there is an exclusion option (Allowlist) Edit2: Extension causes errors in facebook chat even when not connected.

• (2024-12-30) Will not allow access to iPlayer. Installation was a waste or time. These VPNs all claim that you can use iPlayer, but none of the ones free or you pay for give you access. BBC is not stupid. They look down the tunnel and see its a VPN and block you.
• (2024-12-26) It took me some time to come to the conclusion that this extension is pretty much useless. It doesn't really conceal your location; it just creates a false sense of security. When I choose New York or Miami, some websites think I'm in a completely different country. I also discovered that when visiting a site that reveals your actual location, my complete real address, including building number and street, was displayed. Perhaps I am not utilizing Windscribe correctly, or maybe I need to pay to access its full benefits which I will NEVER do.
• (2024-12-19) YEEES!!! Yeah Extra! Exemplary!! Extraordinary!!! Standard for Security: Access, and Control Built from FOSS (Free Open Source Software): uBlock Origin Lite (Retains all the functionality) Head to settings (Hamburger menu), choose 'Blocker' menu, at the bottom should see the Ublock Origin button, voila!~ If not work in Russia, blame Russia; If not work in China, blame China; If Captcha not work, blame the said sevices about the CAPTCHA's- You can always talk to Russia, China, and said services to unblock your access, but don't rely on a military regime dicatorship-orwellian society as such as those services to do so. Captchas have been broken for some time, it isn't Windscribes issue, nor their duty, or job to make them work, you can simply turn off the VPN, sort the CAPTCHA, and turn it back on. You can always switch servers, to find one that doesn't trigger the CAPTCHA's because that is a thing too. Bros got rabbits 'pon wabbits up his trick-sleeve-and-Top-Hat. CAPTCHA Solution: You purchase a 'residential IP' from Windscribe, which does in fact bypass most-if-not-all CAPTCHA's and even more way to obscure/bypass networks that would dictate your access to their services/servers as well.

I'm an app harlot, afraid of commitment and just in it to have a good time. But, Windscribe is more than a sidepiece, and they've made an honest man of me. Unbelievably, I even paid. We've been together for 5 whole years - by far, my longest relationshApp. As long as they keep puttin' out (new features), stay in the kitchen where they belong, and don't get too lippy, I look forward to a lifetime of copyright violations, and interrelationship power dynamics always being in my favor.
• (2024-11-14) This app is GREAT! My social circle is over half friends in UK. I can watch shows from stations in the UK, 8/10x using a friends' Post Code, w/o a problem! Got an email today that windscribe is on the ball and updated the extension. We're not going to lose anything. The latest version I have is 4.0.2 If you use Chrome browser, click the puzzle looking piece on the top right and UPDATE EXTENSIONS.
