• (2025-06-14) tmont17: I've enjoyed this extension so far. With the new update, however, there have been bugs with the new beta "remember last tab" feature. I have it off but it keeps trying to play the audio from my last tab. So whenever I pause youtube a twitch tab audio will begin playing even with the "remember last tab" feature turned off. Otherwise it's a great extension!
• (2025-05-09) Ashley Hogan: I love that I don't have to mess with anything. The tab unmutes or mutes when you click in and out of it. Love how simple that is! It's something you didn't know you needed :) Edit 5.9.25 -- Almost a year later and I'm still loving this extension so much. I had added a volume control extension and it did not work well with this extension, so I tried to see if there were any other ones that it would work with. I couldn't find any that were as amazing as this one so I just ended up removing the sound extension. Seriously this extension is perfect. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING. You just download the extension and THATS IT. If, like me, you have multiple tabs open watching videos (for me its twitch), you literally just go to the tab you want to watch and the other tab automatically mutes. You dont have to click on the extension each time you switch tabs. What more could you ask for??

• (2025-03-15) Taylor Steele (Taystee): Sorry to say, but the first sign, for me of a "bad app", is an application that immediately askes for (notedly a good review) but a review immediately, and so my question for ALL of you (corporations included) how can any one expect to get and therefore supply real reliable honest views about "said companies product" when dealing with a company who's first question to it's newest user (5 mins after sign up) is "How about giving us a great review?!" Based on... what? How politely you begged for the review? Because company's that ask immediately they don't want honesty; however, If they were, asking for an honest review I mean, they would give new user a chance to use the app first, wouldn't they!? 5 stars all the way! #weak

• (2024-06-21) Nathaniel Mina: 5+ Stars! This "smart mute" extension is pure magic! I never knew how much I needed this until I had it. I'm the type of person who always has 50+ tabs open, and it used to drive me crazy trying to find the one playing music or a video so I could mute it and focus. The global media controls in Chrome helped, but this extension takes it to the next level. It's so seamless and intuitive – now I can mute tabs with a single click without even having to think about it. If you're like me and constantly battling tab overload, this extension is an absolute must-have!

For future features, I would add something like: When you unmute a video, for example on Twitter/X, and then you manually mute the video, the tab with sound unmute again. This is specially good when you have a tab pinned with a radio/music background, and then you have to see a video/audio on your socials.

• (2024-05-30) Dommage Duval: EDIT*** Version 6.0.6 seem to work like a charm!!! *** Firstly thanks for your great work, I've subscribed to a recurrent donation each month, you deserve it.11 I'm on 6.0.3, I'll try to give you the most information about my issue, I use 3 screen and keep running stream to monitor them and other reasons. When audio is playing in a tab, and I open another tab on another instance and get to a website that have audio, sound play for a second, then get muted and the last tab I was on get unmuted. This one is sketchy, it happens when I uncheck the "Enable Smart Mute" in the option, When I have audio playing on 3 twitch stream, if I manually mute them all and minimize the window. When I maximize the windows all audio tab from twitch get unmuted.

• (2024-05-29) Michael: Unfortunately, everything stopped working recently and I've updated to the latest version 6.0.3. I added some websites to the blacklist by their domain but after I refresh the page, I expect the sound to be muted but it still plays. The domain I added was YouTube but any website has this issue. I have some pinned tabs, some grouped tabs and many normal tabs if that helps. Also, I blacklisted the website in which I am actively on. Update 29 May 2024: It's back to normal again. Thank you so much!
