This reading ruler will aid you on reading texts on the internet
It will place a semi-transparent line on your screen, just hit the combination ctrl + r on windows and mac (not the command button but the control button) to activate the ruler, hit the same configuration to remove the ruler

Redo of the extension, all the features introduced on V3.1 were causing a lot of bug, surprisingly there are still people using and finding this extension, so I decided to simplify it and make it work on all websites. I hope this update fixes all major issues reported on the feedback page.
Here a list of changes:
- You are not able to set a shortcut anymore, for now these are set by default.
- Windows: ALT + SHIFT + 3
- Mac: Command + SHIFT + U
- Color and opacity are still options that you can change
- Add save button to apply changes done to the ruler color and opacity
- Fix issue with ruler not working on multiple websites
- Simplified core mechanism to allow extension to always work

- (2022-12-24) Emily Hendrickson: Best and simplest Reading Ruler I've found. Simple Reading Ruler. Easy to use. Very versatile. Love that it changes size according to text. You can use Hex, RGB, HSL, or even a ink dropper for color picking. It does have a problem with remembering the color I want the ruler to have, but I just set it again occasionally. Sometimes I have trouble using it on certain websites, but over all it is very worthwhile.

- (2021-01-25) Cate Smart: It is the only ruler that works for my online textbooks, and I like how it changes size depending on the text. The color is not too bright but is still easily noticeable, and it doesn't affect the mouse function.

Hi, I've been using the Reading Ruler extension to study (it's been very useful), but suddenly it's not working and I can't figure out how to get it back. I've tried restarting Chrome, removing the extension and adding it again, pressing the shortcut given when I click on the extension, changing the shortcut and trying the new combination etc. But nothing works. I noticed someone else said theirs stopped working after an update? That may be the case for me, but I don't remember for sure. I just noticed that it wasn't working a few minutes ago. (My computer did crash due to a power outage today, but I'm not 100% sure whether or not the extension was working before that happened.) - (2021-07-13, v:3.0) lich ch: isn't working after the recent update
Hi, first of all, I'd like to thank you for this excellent extension. I love it and it used to work well (except for the problem of turning it off, but I kept it on all the time anyway). But now I have difficulty to turn it on after the update. I have tried many way to launch it to no avail. Is there anything I missed or I should know? Hi Great extension, thanks. Problem for me is I don't want it active 90% of the time. I can't find a way to turn it off by default, so i can activate it where needed? It's active on every new website/tab that opens, which gets kinda frustrating
