IE Tab exactly emulates Internet Explorer, and enables you to load your web pages with different versions of IE (IE7 - IE11)
FULLY SUPPORTED IN WINDOWS 11 AND AFTER INTERNET EXPLORER IS REMOVED IN FEBRUARY 2023.
Please note that IE Tab for Windows does require the use of a separate executable, ietabhelper.exe. You can read more about that in the FAQ below.

1. Why do I have to install ietabhelper.exe?
IE Tab uses the Internet Explorer rendering engine. This rendering engine can't be directly accessed from a Chrome extension, so we need a helper process to communicate between the Chrome extension and the rendering engine.
2. Did IE Tab always require this extra program?
No. Chrome used to support a technology called NPAPI (the Netscape Plugin API) which allowed extensions to access local computer resources. IE Tab used to use that functionality to access the Internet Explorer rendering engine. But Chrome removed NPAPI support, so we were forced to implement a new solution, and that solution requires a separate helper executable. From a technical standpoint, the only real change is that our code moved from an NPAPI .DLL file to a helper .EXE file.
3. Is the IE Tab Helper application safe?
Absolutely! IE Tab has always used native code, and we have always treated the security of our 2+ million users very seriously. So you can rest assured that this helper executable is secure and trustworthy.

Но теперь спаскудился тот же хром по полной программе. По сути как только Explorer насильно зкрыли установкой adge на комп которого уже удалить невозможно - вообще нет доступа к архивам. Хром же после этого сразу IE сделал платным. Кроме очередной комерции здесь просто ничего нет. В отношении пожаловаттся здесь конечно и толку мало. Тот же хром просто не будет публиковать во всеобщественную реальную обстановку пока не начнут платить. После начала требования платить за приложения что то ощущения что далее и за ящики начнут требовать оплату.

Now they want a yearly subscription and the usage just doesn't justify that for anyone who uses this extension. I wouldn't mind paying a one time low fee for a permante license tied to my google account for every system i install it on, but not a yearly one. Can no longer recommend this extention until they remove the yearly subscription.

- (2023-10-05) Sean Flesch: Since Cisco couldn't be bothered to have their systems work with any browser other than IE, this add-on works wonders. At this point, I'm removing it because Cisco has finally (mostly) gotten with the program. I wouldn't hesitate to install again if I needed it.

I ll just use edge in IE compatibility mode. that's not such a big issue, I have 150 tabs opened on chrome along some on edge and opera. I ll just use edge with those java tabs , period!

It would be great if there was an option in the tab context menu to reopen that tab but in IE. When I want to open a page in IE, it is generally because I am having issues with the page in Chrome and want to see if it is browser related.
