• (2022-09-02) Chris Fiorentini: Great idea and functionality, but be careful... When viewing Lists with columns for fields with long text, like long URL's, be careful! If the column truncates with www.saleforce.com/this/that/oth.... it WILL update records to that value.

If updating fields I will always create an edit list view showing only the fields I need to update as it can unintentionally wipe out values in fields. I still have now worked out how to do a mass update from excel, it have never worked for me. It won't update if the record type is not included as required by Salesforce unfortunately there is no way of knowing this except after updating and clicking save all the additions disappear.

• (2019-04-25) Parker Penguin: If you are an admin, you really have to get this tool right now. It allows you to edit a whole bunch of records in a spreadsheet or "gridbuddy-like" fashion. While I think this feature should have been built into Salesforce a long time ago, its great to have this functionality for free. I also like the ability to change a whole list of records in one fell swoop. So if your reading this, just stop reading any more and download this now.

Easily copy and paste values from excel into multiple records 3. No need to add the button to everyones list view layout (no way to selectively give buttons to profiles this way)

  Dear Support, When I edit with mass editor a list in classic, the closing dates are edited properly (see below). When I do the same with lightening, the dates are converted to american format.   Hi -- I've got the Mass Editor installed and generally love it. However, one BIG problem I'm having is that when in Views and using the mass editor, the scroll bar on the right doesn't show up. The only way to use it for views that have more than 4-5 lines is to use Tab and Shift-Tab to move forward or backward and have the screen scroll that way. It's doubly painful because the Save button can only be viewed by Shift-Tabbing back up until it is visible and you can accidentally go too far and start "scrolling" again at the bottom of the list. Can someone help fix the scroll bar issue???

  Hi There, I'm using Mass Editor on Salesforce classic using a force.com license and for some reason edits that I make aren't saved! Whether it's editing a text field or different field types. Also for some reason I'm unable to edit pick lists & also I can't scroll further than the view it shows me... If I'm seeing only 12 lines out of a view that contains 100 accounts, then I can't scroll past the 12 accounts it's showing me. Any idea what I can do to change this? Thanks

  When using mass editor from a list view, if there are any long text fields included in the list view on save it will truncate/cut down any text in those fields to the amount of text displayed in mass editor mode. This occurs even if the long text field isn't the one you are making the edit to.
