Image from store Open in MS Edge™
Description from store You can send HTML links to Microsoft's Edge browser with a single click. The extension includes a browser action button that, when activated, sends the URL from the active tab to the Edge browser. Optionally, you can instruct the extension to close the tab once the URL transfer is complete. It's important to note that, like similar extensions, this one requires a native component (macOS, Windows, and Linux) for communication with the external browser. Additionally, the extension enhances your productivity by adding a context menu option for links, allowing you to send them to the Edge browser with a simple right-click. To configure the extension to your needs, head to the options page and specify which hostnames should open in the Edge browser. Since the extension use a native component, it can initiate a new instance if it detects no open Edge windows. This component has a built-in tool to help you locate the Edge executable. The extension provides several context menu items within the browser action button, enabling you to send all tabs within the current window or across all windows to the Edge browser. Also, it has two context menu items for link and text selection. It will extract links from selection area and open links in the Edge browser. --- Legal Disclaimer Please be aware that 'Edge' is a registered trademark of Microsoft Inc. in the United States and other countries. • (2022-07-14) Adelmo Donis: Cumple con lo que dice, aunque hay que descargar y hacer algunos procesos adicionales, pero son sencillos y faciles de seguir. It works fine, but you need to download and make additional processes for make it works, but are simple and easy to follow.
  • (2022-04-16) András Balkányi: Why I like it: - It works with right click on a link so you do not need to open the page first and then press a button. - It can extract the link from the selected text. Just right click and select Extract and Open Text Links in Microsoft Edge.

  • (2021-06-27) Rezwan Haque: Love this extension but some additional scripts to install make me nervous. Also, correct the icon/logo since it is the old Edge logo, doesn't look good. Works great for me. But 3 star for 2 reasons: 1. It requires some scripting and may feel shady, 2. when I click the button to send in the Edge browser, a new Edge window pops up which is annoying. There should have an option to send it either as a background new window/tab or as popped up new window in the foreground. Please update it.
  • (2021-03-21) R Green: Probably dangerous- requires downloading and running a 3rd party batch file- no thanks
  • (2020-07-09) Will McKnight: Great, great, great!!! Works like a champ.
  • (2020-02-17) Lola S: Terrible add-on. Not a fan at all
  • (2020-01-31) Ömer Erdinç Yağmurlu: It isn't worth downloading whole Node.JS for this. If you were to write some native client that was really native, it wouldn't be a problem
  • (2020-01-30) R.A. de Hosson: Works fine, would be nice if the icon of the extension in the taskbar would be adjusted to the new Edge logo after MS has based it on Chromium now.

  • (2019-02-02) V T: doesnt work at all. This extension just opy tab from Google chrome to Google chrome (create second tab)) instead open link in MS Edge
  • (2018-05-01) Joe Stieglitz: The functionality is very great. I prefer to use the "crome" browser because of the gorgeous extensions. Otherwise I love the reading mode in the"edge" browser. Now I can combine the advantages of both browser by one click !!!
  • (2018-03-11) Nicholas Micchelli: Required additional download to work. That Additional Download contained a Trojan Virus.
  • (2018-02-22) Mark Messinger: It works great, when you configure it correctly, to run the Edge browser. Straight out of the box, Open in MS Edge wouldn't actually open Edge. When I found the location of the Edge .exe file, I found I couldn't simply run that .exe file, to get the Edge browser to run. I found I had to download the Launch Edge Browser utility, from http://www.emmet-gray.com/Articles/EdgeLaunch.html and, once that's installed, configure Open in MS Edge to run that utility's executable, instead of running the Edge executable.
  • (2018-02-05) Evan Cherry: Works as advertised, simple setup. Thanks!
  • (2017-12-14) Ownforest Yo: this is quite useful but how to make the link auto change to read mode of edge?
