• (2019-02-25) Chris Perkins: This extension seems to be totally broken. When you click a Quip Link it still opens in the browser and never goes to the desktop app. Not sure why it has not been either removed or fixed given all the comments saying the same as this one.

• (2018-10-24) Ian Smith: Doesn't work. Quip links in 3rd party apps or even in quip do not open the desktop client. Quip links addon was freshly installed and the desktop client is fully up to date.

Is there a way to automatically close the Chrome tab that gets created in the process? when working with a large set of links and documents through the day, too many blank Chrome tabs get opened :-)
