* Text wird automatisch gesichert, wenn für eine bestimmte Dauer (timeout in Sekunken) nicht verändert wird.
Jede Änderung startet diese Zeitspanne erneut.
* Text wird nicht mehr automatisch gesichert wenn er um mehr Zeichen als vorgegeben () gegenüber der letzten Sicherung verkürzt wird.
Die Sicherung beginnt erneut wenn die Textlänge diese Vorgabe wieder erfüllt.
* Text wird erst ab einer bestimmten Mindestlänge automatisch gesichert.
Damit kann die Sicherung von im Klartext angezeigen Kundennummern und dergleichen verhindert werden.
* Alle Inhalte von bearbeiteten und input Text Feldern werden automatisch im sync storage gespechert, außer für input type password.
Die Texte sind in allen Chrome Installationen verfügbar in denen man angemeldet ist, falls die Synchronisierung aktiviert ist.
The texts are available in all chrome installations you are signed in to when syncing is turned on.
Die Erweiterung funktioniert selbst dann wenn man offline ist.
Geht man wieder online wird die Synchronisierung wieder aufgenommen.

"Autosaved XX characters" is getting add to the end of my pages. Can the extension just operate silently? I'm a web developer, and this could mess up testing. I don't see any way to turn this off. - (2015-07-28, v:14) Mike Salkin: garbled text

In my case, a textarea tag is only inserted into the document after the page has loaded. Autosave Text doesn't auto-save in these cases. (Also: to allow the extension to be found easier, I'd suggest adding the word "form" somewhere in the description, as I searched for "autosave form" initially.)
