Local media player as the name suggests allows you to play most of the media files (.mp4,.mp3,.mkv,.webm,.3gp,.avi,.mpeg,.mpg,.ogg,.wmv,.wav,.mov) from local PC drives, without any need to download third party softwares like VLC, Windows Media Player etc. You do this simply from the comfort of your browser window. This is very helpful for computers with low storage space/processing power.
Some video/audio formats other than mentioned above may not work. If your file is not working with our media player than you are requested to convert your desired file into any of the above mention file formats of your choice using numerous free file converters (both offline as well as online).

- Works Just how you would expect it to work, Runs MKV files just fine. I would suggest getting this extension if you are trying to broadcast things to your TV using Chromecast.

- Did not play the sound on my MKV file. VLC played it with sound so I know it wasn't a file error. edit: Tried again with a different file and played sound but no video. I'm streaming the same file with Videostream right now, use that instead.

- Works perfectly. It plays from my MP3 files from my USB stick locally, and it also plays from "My Drive" cloud MP3 files online. No problems and no glitches. Thank you!
