• (2024-08-15) Marvin Rainsdon: I upgraded to the paid version last year and have never been able to get the program to search. I never requested a refund. I was surprised when I could find no way to cancel the subscription and was recently charged for another year. The only contact given is the support email. They have never responded to my emails.
• (2024-07-26) Barbara Ferrin: This has been an amazing tool for doing Family History, especially since so much of my work has been done back to the 1500-1600 range. It is not always intuitive to new users and I have not found many instructions. If it had not been shown to me and explained by another user I'm not sure if i would have been as pleased with it. As of now, I hope never to be without it. My last search brought up over 1,000 names that needed work.

• (2024-07-08) Richard S. Wilson: I tried this extension and it found ancestor's it said I needed to do baptisms for and all of them had been previously done. Most of them in 2018 to 2020. It gave me the list and I could not find any way to print a list of them, or a way to add the people to FamilySearch. I copied their FS numbers and looked them up in FamilySearch and found out of the 15 people it found 4 had been deleted and all of them had already had the work done. Worthless program!

I've tried several other tools in the past, but nothing comes close to the ease and convenience of Hopechest. The installation process was quick and straightforward, and within minutes, I was able to begin my search on FamilySearch.org. One of the things I love most about Hopechest is its ability to help me focus my research on specific family lines and descendants. I can easily print out the results and share them with friends or family members who may be working on the same line. The installation process was seamless, and within minutes, I was able to log into FamilySearch and start my search. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it a joy to use. With Hopechest, I can easily search for specific ancestors and their descendants, create folders for each search, and print out the results to bring to the temple. I love that I can also discover which ordinances are needed for male and female ancestors and even search for records with data problems or record hints. This tool has made my family history research more efficient and enjoyable than ever before!
• (2024-04-17) Startup Hakk: HopeChest is amazing! I had it installed in minutes and had the search going and it found names for the temple right away! I had a question and emailed support and they answered right back super duper quickly. I highly recomment it!
• (2024-03-20) Denney Pugmire: I have used it extensively several years ago but am finding the current version is having three problems: 1- hanging up in the middle of a search, 2- not giving a "completed" message at the end of a search so it starts the search again from the top, and 3- no response from support. I have send several screen shots to support but have not received a response. I hope they can resolve the current problems since this is the best source for identifying larger numbers of temple names that I am aware of. Cudos to the developers for continuing to make it available.

It shows that I am enrolled at Pro level, but it will not search. I have sent several emails for support but have not had any response.

When they switched to subscription, they offered me a discount on the annual cost to keep the family license, which I accepted. I work for a software company so I understand the need to get annual reoccurring revenue to stay in business. This software has valuable features that I USED often. I have not had access to the full features since the switch. I have emailed, including forwarding the annual payment receipt from PayPal, but still support has not restored my access and they have not responded to my most recent email asking for a resolution. I would like to keep access to the pro features and am willing to keep paying the annual fee to have it, but it is not honest for them to charge me annually and not provide the services. Once this is resolved, I will be happy to improve my ratings as the solution is valuable to my family history research.

I can't even find a working email for Hope Chest to express my frustrations. [email protected]. this email does not work!! The new version of Hope Chest doesn't work either. The old one was great. I am so disappointed. I tried to label a line that I wanted to search which is very basic. That's what I use Hope Chest for. The window that came up said I couldn't "label" an ancestor to search unless I pay for an upgrade. Is that correct?

Another big issue is the length of down time when the site bombs out and the total lack of communication when it does. The system went down on 15 Dec 2019 and today 31 Dec 2019 it is still down--over two weeks ago! Yes I know the Christmas season is a factor,but when users are paying for this site all the excuses in the world just doesn't cut it.

HC runs smooth without a problem. I'm 70 years old and currently serving a temple mission. I have no financial connection with HC nor do I personally know the people behind HC. HC has incredible features that no other apps can offer. * If you are having problems with HC you should try deleting. Go to Settings, click on Extensions, and click remove. The go back and downloaded again from the Google Chrome Store. Next check the size of RAM in your computer - you need a minimum of 8 gigs. I have 16. Check your internet speed - you need 20 or more. When I want to search it comes up with the premium ad and when I press "just search" the pop-up closes and then nothing happens. I came on here to look at reviews and saw that most people had a hard time contacting the developer so I am not going to try. Just going to delete it, no use having it on my Chrome.

When I click on the icon it will only show my husbands people with his name at the top. I have restarted, signed in and out, changed computers and nothing works. • (2018-12-04) Michael Peila: I used the free version for years and three days ago paid $20 for Hope Chest Plus. The upgrade hasn't kicked in and I am pretty disappointed. Glad I didn't pay for the $99 version. Also, When I click on the developer's site it says it doesn't exist!?! What gives?
