Secure Shell
Terminal emulator and SSH and SFTP client.
Secure Shell is an xterm-compatible terminal emulator and stand-alone ssh client for Chrome. It uses Native-Client to connect directly to ssh servers without the need for external proxies.
A SFTP command line client is included. On ChromeOS, you can create SFTP mounts and access them from the Files app!
An alpha build of Mosh is included now too.
It has been well tested for a couple of years.

I love it, but it plays sounds and creates notifications for every sound played. This is annoying. There is a section "Sounds" in Options. I have cleared the "Alert bell sound (URI)" field and unchecked the "Create desktop notifications for alert bells" checkbox. It does not care and keeps annoying me.
Absolutely love this ssh client. Not bloated at all, does what it needs to do. Outstanding!
I never installed this and it's live on my PC, super dodgy!
secured and easy to set up.
I had trouble trying to set it up for my usual workflow, which is connecting to my cloudtop. I recommend cider connector instead, worked out of the box.
It does what it should. There is a potential for improvements, but it does all the main things and does them without any big issues.
useless.. does not connect. window crashes as soon as it opens.
Excellent!
Easy and simple SSH client for Chrome / Chromebook.
An interesting twist on an age-old problem: for those of us who live on the command line, sometimes we are stuck in front of a web browser without any hope of installing anything — and have an emergency to deal with which can only be fixed via SSH... what to do? Well, I guess that this is the solution now: a WASM-compiled SSH console! It's fast, it's secure, it runs on everything... and has lots of configuration options as well. This is cleverly done, even if still a bit rough at the edges. But I'm sure it can only get better!
Great as long as you don't mind your config being randomly deleted.
It worked typed "ssh <site>" in the commandline, but now it doesn't work, only 3 stars....
Seems to be working again!
Backup restore config not work
If you have come here because the add-on has stopped working, you need to follow these steps. 1) Remove this Extention. 2) Search for "Secure shell" in the Chrome Extension shop. 3) Install the package with the same name as this one but the icon looks like this >_<
This was my preferred SSH client, but it stopped working. :-(
Yet another great Google product that has stopped working.
Version 0.60 stopped working for me. Installed the development version of Secure Shell from chrome web store (same name different icon) and version 0.60.8738.27253 of that is working.
Has stopped working. The OTHER Secure Shell from Google works - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/secure-shell/algkcnfjnajfhgimadimbjhmpaeohhln
Same as everyone. Stopped working after update. Hopefully it gets fixed soon... maybe relying on Alpha wasn't the right move...
no longer works

No longer works for me. Worked fine for years.

Pretty sad that after several months its still no better. Time to move on to something better. Serious disappointment.
Stopped working with this new wasm thing :(

the last update somehow broke it for me, putty works but this extension drops connections after a short time

It was great. A migration broken it. Can the developers at least enable the option to keep the old thing while the new one is unstable?

Was also my default shell. With the update to version 0.59, it won't stay connected anymore.

It was my default terminal, but now since 0.58 update, because of wasm migration, it keeps re-connecting. There is no way to switch back to pnacl till wasm is stable. So the extension is useless now.

Have used it for a couple of years, and been great. However since version 0.54 SFTP mount no longer works which reduces the usefulness of this plugin

Works well. Easier than having to launch a separate app to get to the console.

As of version 0.54, SFTP mount no longer works. For me, that was the best thing about this extension.

When importing an identity, it does not proceed to import it, does anyone have an idea? :(

The file ~/.ssh/known_hosts is empty. But I've got connected hosts. Is it a bug? Also, use the SSH agent for Google Chrome extension.

It's sort of good. I like the fact that you can mount a remote connection for SFTP using the Files app on ChromeOS, HOWEVER whenever I use this to transfer files to the server, instead of overwriting existing files, it makes a copy of each file. It also will not refresh the contents of the remote folder following a transfer. So far as I can tell, the only way to do a file transfer like this is to first delete the remote files and then copy the new ones over.
