Description from store This extension allows to find and delete duplicate bookmarks, empty folders, merge folders with the same name (within the same path), find no longer working and expired bookmarks and remove them easily. Permissions explained: 1. Read and change your bookmarks(required on install) - required for core functions to work 2. Read and change all your data on the websites you visit(optional, not asked until you use Broken URLs checker) – to check if bookmarked page loads and doesn't return any error. If your screen becomes RED, saying that site is deceptive while scanning for broken links you can have 2 options: 1. Remove this site from your bookmarks: (error screen shows which site causes error, just open bookmarks manager and search for this site) 2. Disable this "feature" in chrome (go to Settings -> Advanced -> Under "Privacy and security," turn off "Protect you and your device from dangerous sites"), Changelog (most recent versions first) 0.2 - The extension has been migrated to Manifest version 3. (2025-05-21) Martin Gascoigne: Does absolutely nothing that it says it does. Absolute waste of time and space. Avoid. I manually deleted all the 100s of duplicates I had after installing this. Didn't stop them coming back.

(2025-02-24) Starman Denver: It's a great idea and it found a lot of duplicates for me, but allowed no obvious way to delete them other than one by one. I had 750 duplicates, largely due to an importation error. Finding them is a good thing, but it would be much more useful if there was a less tedious way of selecting and deleting the dups. Perhaps I am missing something, but if so, it is certainly not obvious. (Please correct me if I have missed something.) I think I will just export to HTML and try to clean it up with an HTML editor.

(2025-01-29) Caton Calderon: whats the point of using this if chrome's broken browser duplicate bookmarked like 500 each of 3 different URL's. and your extension has no select all function, you expect me to sit here and click every box for like 1600 URL's. no why dont u have a select all funcion and then i will unselect the ones that i want to keep. please update.

Worked flawlessly after I cleaned up almost 500 duplicates (from 1000 in the list in total). It can also remove dead or inactive websites (URLs) and is highly effective in this as well. Definitely worth your time to download this!

(2024-10-18) Brian West: Works but basic. Counts the number of duplicate groups but not the number of duplicate bookmarks. "Remove Empty Folders" and "Merge Duplicate Folders" don't give a chance to pre-approve and don't say what they did other than a count. Must manually select the duplicates to delete. Need to be able to say "select all duplicates in this folder tree" and things like that, which are standard in file de-duplication programs.

(2024-09-27) Jay Donahue: DISCOVERED A TIME-SAVING TRICK! On the "Find duplicate bookmarks" tab, this time instead of clicking every other checkbox, I clicked on one of the open eye icons it magically selected that bookmark as well as put checks in the previous (or following) 30 or so bookmarks. Then I just clicked remove all selected and they were gone! This may have something do with clicking the "Select in same folder" button, because I was only getting batches of dupes selected rather than, in my opinion, a more useful "Select all older bookmarks" or "Select all newer bookmarks" - but, even so I was able to bang out 300 bookmarks in a few minutes by clicking an eyeball and then clicking the "Remove all selected" button. it was only a few batches for me and I was done in quickly! You kinda have to go with the mindset of "I just want the dupes gone" in order to zip through this. I plan on now moving stuff around in bookmark manager as needed. To me that's better than going through each one by one and thinking about which dupe is in the better folder....300 times. Great trick I'm glad I stumbled upon!! :) Hope it helps you as well!

(2024-07-06) Penumbralt: Other extensions seem to think every bookmark under the same domain are duplicates, this is the only one I've found that only marks exact URL matches as duplicates. Works great and efficiently.

(2024-06-10) Adrian D: Can only select all duplicates on a per folder basis. If you have many folders you need to scroll through the whole list and find each folder to select it. That's too much work so I uninstalled it instead and wrote this review.

(2024-04-27) Pat Nesbitt: Seems to work well however I am confused why I can't find a 'select all duplicate' button. It found lots of duplicates but there doesn't seem to be an automatic way of selecting and removing all the duplicates.
(2024-04-21) Rob Murray: Great extension! It worked perfectly. I even double-check the various types of results and they were always accurate. Watch for certain types of results, tho. 404 errors are fine to remove but other errors that are unknown might be because you aren't logged in to a site and its prompting for user/password. It doesn't hurt to open the link to double-check.
(2024-04-20) Jennifer Sloan: BACK UP YOUR BOOKMARKS FIRST! Better safe than sorry. The app warns you of this which I really appreciate it. This app is fabulous. Somehow my bookmarks got duplicated, I was able to very easily weed out the duplicates and delete the empty folders. I had over 3,000 bookmarks somehow (many were duplicates) and I was able to de-duplicate everything in about 10 minutes. I had it run a check to delete broken URL's and easily cleared a bunch of old stuff out. This app is amazing!
(2024-04-17) Darren Johnson: April 2024 - identified 386 duplicates Because of a import of bookmarks, However, it seems I would need to select every other entry, so I used a different extension. After the 386 were deleted, this found all now empty folders, and cleaned those up Nicely. Thank You

(2024-04-01) Peach Fuzz: After the scan, the extension found more than 4000 duplicate bookmarks. But there's no way to "select all". What the hell was the developer thinking? Am I suppose to select one by one?
(2024-04-01) Chris Randle (Chris): Tried Bookmark Commander, Bookmark Manager, and this. They all have UI issues. In addition to things like just removing all empty folders without telling me what they are, it also shows duplicate folders but it will return like the same bookmark that I have 10 times (from my days when I would TAG bookmarks in Digg, and then Chrome duplicated them) but I have to tick INSIDE EACH CHECKBOX to select all 10. This would be OK if I was doing it regularly but this is a problem for me. Tedious and poorly designed UI.

(2024-03-08) Crispin Handly: Completely useless for me, as I have over 4,000 duplicates I need to remove, and as others have said, there's no option to delete only duplicates while leaving the originals alone. So you need to manually click on each one to remove it, which will take forever. If you only have a few bookmarks or less than 100 or so, then clicking each one to delete one-by-one is doable with this, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars and not one, even though I couldn't use it for what I needed it for.
