Description from store A chrome extension that presents your tabs vertically. News: - Tab preview support is here! - Dark theme support is here! Features include: - Dark theme. - Display tabs vertically in a sidebar on web pages. - Tabs are displayed with the same style as Google Chrome. - Drag and drop to reorder tabs. - Mute tabs. - Search and filter tabs in the sidebar. - Toggle the sidebar by clicking on the extension icon. - Toggle the sidebar using the keyboard shortcut: Cmd + E (Ctrl + E on PC)(Using keyboard shortcuts are recommended once you formed the corresponding muscle memory) - The sidebar is resizable. - Auto show/hide sidebar. - The sidebar can be placed on either the left or the right side of the window. New! More features to come! Such as tree styled tabs! Stay tuned! Some known problems: - Vertical Tabs only works on regular html pages (which is 99% of the time). However, it doesn't work on your Newtab page, chrome web store pages, or PDF pages. Unfortunately that's the way it works in chrome, and there's no known way to get around it currently. - It works by injecting an iframe into a webpage. Therefore, zooming in/out on the page will cause the vertical tabs to become large/small. There's no way to get around this. - Please refresh the page after a version update. For example, when you find that the toggling functionality gave up working, it's most probably I updated the version, and refreshing the web pages (using Cmd + R / Ctrl + R) should fix it. Thank you! Built with React, Webpack, and love by @lxieyang.

  • (2023-11-03) H L: Seemed to be exactly what I needed, noted it was old. Was a little buggy at the start, worked fine at first, then I minimized it and it seemed to disappear forever. I had to fiddle with the settings, change the hotkey to something else, then back to ctrl-E and it started working perfectly again. But the dealbreaker is it screws with functionality of some pop up windows and field submissions. Since I need those for my job, this extension has to go. Sigh, why google's incapable of adding vertical tabs to their own browser I'll never understand.
  • (2023-10-10) A S: Doesn't work. works once then disappears. hotkey doesn't work. and when i click the icon and get the eyes. it still doesn't work. how are you support to display the vertical tabs anyways
  • (2023-10-06) CC: Just doesn't work. And no easy way to find support or recommended fixes.
  • (2023-10-05) TJ Starkweather: Love it. Works a lot like the firefox one. Only thing I would love to see is nesting for tabs that were created from a parent tab. i.e., if i was to open a hyperlink from one tab, the new tab would be slightly indented to show it is grouped under the parent.
  • (2023-10-01) St. Vincent de Paul: It doesn't work.
  • (2023-09-16) My Love: Please fix dark theme bug, i must setting each tab for dark theme to work.
  • (2023-09-16) Bin Sektor: Didn't do what I expected. I guess its good for productivity with the extra detail visible per side tab but... The original chrome tabs still remain on the top, so there is no gain in vertical workspace as was suggested in an external review I saw. Given that so many screens are now wide, yet websites insist on drop down menus that fall off the bottom of the screen, I had expected that vertical tabs would remove the top tabs & give greater depth but... No.
  • (2023-06-30) Who I Am: Hotkeys doesn't work!
  • (2023-06-24) T GGT: Just didn't work
  • (2023-06-22) Digital Marketing Press Inc: This extension jacks my CPU by 50% (Mac M2 Pro). It appears as a [Your Browser Name] Helper (Renderer). Like everyone else mentioned, this is exactly the extension I need but it degrades performance and I'm concerned that it might be running other unrelated processes... So, for the time being. Bye bye.
  • (2023-06-05) Brett Mickle: Any tabs that are in a group just don't show up in vertical tabs. My primary use case for vertical tabs was to group tabs and be able to expand/shrink groups as needed with better visibility into titles. Not as useful as I'd hoped.
  • (2023-05-11) Nick Kat: pas de panel a chaque fois qu'on change d'onglet
  • (2023-05-03) Tomas Melin: Is there a way of hiding the original tabs at the top of the chrome window?
  • (2023-04-27) 王雷: It is greate, but how can I change the hot key(Ctrl+E has registered)?
  • (2023-04-24) Allen Lv: 好用
  • (2023-03-01) Caleb Yatchak: If this worked the way it should, it would be perfect. The concept is exactly what I'm looking for. But webpages load weird with it open, and opening and closing it is such a pain why even bother.
  • (2023-02-07) U Tmckenz: Close, I have switched to edge because of vertical tabs, but I prefer the chrome browser. Now you are close, but for some reason when I click ctrl T for a new tab it opens another window up top as opposed to a new window on the side. If I am doing something wrong, let me know.
  • (2023-02-04) RK Worker: Good concept but not quick to appear. Also can not make groups.
  • (2023-01-23) FirstName LastName: simply does not work on the majority of websites.
  • (2023-01-21) Lavi ben-shimol: The sidebar has a cool and kind of unique 'look and feel'. Some pages do not work with the extension. Because it doesn't work on all websites, it's pretty useless most of the time (in my case, with the websites I work with). Additional functionality (edit tab name would be awesome!) can also improve the useability. hope it will get better soon. great idea!
  • (2023-01-13) Dorian Wills: Works with a few tweaks, but it's buggy. If you pin the extension to your toolbar, you can use the button to show/hide. If it's getting stuck hidden, try the "fix" under Manage Extensions (as mentioned in another comment.) I found the best combo was pinned to the right (the button is closer), leave it hidden and click button to show/hide, "squeeze" option off, drag the size down to show more webpage. PROBLEMS: some pages like Youtube and Amazon wouldn't "squeeze" and the tabs covered the side bar. On other pages it didn't appear at all (New Tab page and Chrome Web Store) or tabs were occasionally greyed out and unusable (random sites, random times.) If you leave it unhidden and use the "squeeze" setting, every time a site starts to load, the tabs slide into view and move the page over. Very distracting. It also still randomly hides at times. Would be better if it lived in its own frame or pane and never disappeared. The tabs font size is tied to Chrome's zoom setting for each page, so it's inconsistent. Would be MUCH better if it stayed the same. When pinned to the left, a show/hide button on the left side would be helpful. Overall it's a good start, but the extension feels unfinished. Not sure if I'll keep using it.
  • (2023-01-12) Rolf Mack: Doesn't work at all on Chromium on Linux Mint. And the keyboard shortcut clashes with the "Open File Manager" built-in default shortcut. Installed, tried to get it to work for ten minutes, uninstalled.
  • (2023-01-03) Dita Fidrmuc: only on one site works, one time and never again
  • (2022-12-25) René Anclin: Don't bother with it, it works once, when freshly installed and after you minimize it, you will never ever see it again. Waste of time.
  • (2022-12-21) Oscar Chavez: This is the best vertical tabs extension I have found. If it doesn't work for you or once you hide it and it never comes back again just try this after installing it, go to "manage extension", then in "site access" change it to "on click" then "on all sites" again then refresh all websites and give it a try again.
  • (2022-11-25) John Anthony: Once you hide it, it's apparently hidden forever with no way to access it again. At all.
  • (2022-11-19) Paul: its buggy
  • (2022-10-02) Master Blaster: Its better and faster then most other similar addons IMHO. I use it on Opera though.
  • (2022-09-23) Richard T: When hidden, it can't be unhidden again. Also even when set to squash webpages, it still obscures on some pages, eg https://www.altium.com/viewer/
  • (2022-09-12) ZetaBang: It was okay for a moment when I first started, but it did disappear once I either closed the page, even when I tried to reopen it, or when I went to a different tab. It didn't open back up after turning it on and off either. If it could stay open across all tabs like Edge, that'd solve a major issue.
  • (2022-09-07) Vihir Patel: Less that 60 seconds into it showing up on the left, it disappeaed for good. Could never get it to reappear, not even restarting chrome nor reinstalling the extension.
  • (2022-08-24) Stephen S: if it opened automatically when chrome started it would be great and if groups were somehow organised too along with grouping functionality. On second thoughts the animation of the page on each open is pretty off-putting. Still yet to find a tree style tab manager. Side-wise is the only one that has it all but it has its bugs too.
  • (2022-08-12) Bree Vwhyman: To the DEV, i am seeing all kind of comments, mostly GOOD but also complaining. as far as it goes for me , your extension is working perfectly in OPERA 89 August 12, 2022. i use about 30 tabs and your extension does not have any problems dealing with FULL SCREEN or AUTO HIDE etc......... Your extension is very nice because it gives the desirbale feature that was always present in FIREFOX since 15 years back............. "mouse enter/leave AUTO HIDE TAB BAR..." In 15 years NO OTHER BROWSER has done AUTO HIDE TAB BAR and that could be due to IP LAW. and FIREFOX owning the idea. Your extension gives AUTO HIDE to any browser upon Mouse ENTER // LEAVE activty. i can see that there are many similar extensions to yours but i wont ttry them until yours fails. many thans Vince. .....your extension solves that on any CHROME BASED browser
  • (2022-07-24) Иван Нёма (IIvanych): Не нашёл как сделать ещё уже.
  • (2022-06-17) Peter Persson: EGDE make this MUCH better with default functionallity.... But i want similar on Chrome, but no ones seems to get it right.....Does not reappears when hidden. I have tried everything suggested in this tread....
  • (2022-03-11) Yuriy Nekrasov: unstable (heavily dependent on page) and poping up after page loads which is not desired behavior for me
  • (2022-03-11) Klaus: Does it job as perfectly as the API will allow: Since there is no "side-bar" API in Chrome, the bar is inserted into the page contents. Any undesirable behavior I came across is caused by this API limitation (e.g. inheriting the Zoom level of the current webpage, inconsistent side-effects of the layout of websites, not working in system tabs). Chrome team, please add a side-bar API :(
  • (2022-03-03) harktu: way far from beauty and functionality of 'tab center redux' for ff. but without dispute the best vertical tab extension for chrome. nice job!
  • (2022-03-01) Mubarak M: Useless, not functioning properly, no ware near to vertical tab feature in Edge. Stopped using chrome since this feature is not available.
  • (2022-02-02) moi lois: its works well only but 30% of the time. Not stable. too bad because it works well when it does
  • (2022-01-27) Bill Chen: Exactly what I needed! Thanks for the developers, though it's not perfect in many ways (Unusable in new tabs, hidden after jumping to new tabs), I believe you have tried all the APIs you can found to make vertical tabs availiable in Chrome. Good job.
  • (2022-01-27) Bangding van de Steeg: 为什么谷歌对侧边标签和书签这么不欢迎?随便浏览一下几十个标签页堆在一条横杠上这还能看得下去吗?谷歌搜这方面的插件很难搜出正确结果啊,我搜了几分钟才找到这里的
  • (2022-01-19) Szlag Trafił: Why isn't the pane scrolled so that it could show the tab title that is active? Why isn't the scroll position maintained between the times when Vertical Tabs show up (in the auto-hide mode). Also, slimmer pane, as it was mentioned in the first review would be very desirable. Actually I had an extension that worked like this (but not out of the box, I had to hack it; but it was possible in Firefox, in Chrome it's not, I assume): there was a slimmer margin set and a wider margin set and in the auto-hide/show mode the pane was switching between these margins. So usually the pane was slimmer but I could make it wider. That was great because I could work with tabs anyway, and I could make the pane wider when need arised.
  • (2022-01-18) Cương: some time it take too much ram, 2GB for 1 extentions is too much
  • (2022-01-18) Tadas Armonavičius: It would be great if the extension wouldn't bug out all the time. 1. Ctrl + E doesn't work as Chrome is using it for "Search Google" and there are no options in the extension to change the shortcut or disable Google's default one. 2. If You try to open the side tab by left-clicking the extension when You're on the New Tab, not only does it not work (which is not a big deal and I understand why) but it won't work anymore once You close the New Tab or open one of your already opened tabs. Only relaunching Chrome fixes this. If these issues are fixed, I'd bump the review +1 star each. EDIT: I should've used it a little more before writing a review, the extension doesn't work on New Tab and Chrome Web Store. When I switch to other sites, it works perfectly fine. So +1 as promised. Still wish there were options for different shortcut.
  • (2022-01-14) Gabriele Trovato: Does not resize the browser layout, with the result that for websites like Gmail, some buttons on the right become unreachable. The result is that you have to disable and reenable the tabs all the time.
  • (2022-01-11) Khan Jones: Doesn't work. Can't convince it to come out on any tab that wasn't the initial tab that popped up after I installed it. Yes I read the various shortcuts recommended. Maybe this is optimized for Apple
