• (2024-10-13) TORLEY: SpeedUp doesn't work anymore with Chrome due to Manifest V3, enjoyed it a lot when it did. Hope it'll eventually be updated, but in the meantime, what's a worthwhile replacement for it?

I guess if I had to request one change it would be that I think it would be helpful if the slider at top moved to match any selection you might make below. It would make fine tuning the speed selection a little more intuitive. For instance, if you choose 2.25x at the bottom, it would be nice if the slider at top moved to the 2.25x position, so if you need to make it slightly faster or slightly slower with the slider, it would require less fiddling on the user's part. UPDATE: YOUTUBE SHORTS NOW ALWAYS CRASH WHEN YOU ARE HALFWAY THROUGH PLAYING THEM.

A feature someone else mentioned a long time ago that I've also thought would greatly improve this is the ability to block it from changing the speed on certain websites/pages sometimes I'll be watching a livestream at the same time as watching a sped up video for a homework assignment and then the livestream bugs out because its being played fast.

Example: I view my security camera from Nest but it's speeding it up because I'm watching something on another site at 2x. Same with Tweetdeck, speeding up GIFs and such. If I could simply block it from accessing certain domains, it'd be 100x better.

Why listen to both at once? 1) I don't; while the extension is set at 2x, it'd just prevent the music videos from starting out at 2x speed; or 2) if I did, the music'd be quiet background noise for a more "boring" speaker.
