uBlacklist
Blocks sites you specify from appearing in Google search results
This extension prevents the sites you specify from appearing in Google search results.
You can add rules on search result pages, or on sites to be blocked by clicking the toolbar icon. Rules can be specified either by match patterns (e.g. *://*.example.com/*) or by regular expressions (e.g. /example\.(net|org)/).
You can use this extension in several search engines other than Google. The list of supported search engines is available at:
https://github.com/iorate/ublacklist#supported-search-engines
You can synchronize rulesets across devices via cloud storage. At the moment, Google Drive and Dropbox are supported.
You can also subscribe to public rulesets. Some subscriptions are listed on the website:

Does what it's supposed to do
I have blocked Reddit and Quora but they are still appearing under "Discussion and Forums" snippets. How annoying those websites are....
8/25/25 - Icon no longer showing up in my search results page to block individual results... uninstalled
Doesn't work. On Chrome, using Ecosia (which is claimed to be supported). Blocked a domain. Domain still appearing in search results. What am I missing? Nothing. Doesn't work.
It worked well up until the 08/05/25 update. I used this on a work computer and this broke google image searches, google sheets, google docs, google drive and in some intermittent cases my gmail. Had to remove the extension because it outright destroyed productivity and ruined several demo calls. only 1 website was blocked from showing in google searches and the URL had no affiliation with Google sites.
simple, fast, works with brave, chrome and firefox. tnx!
Worthless when used on the Brave browser. It doesn't block ANYTHING.
Great extension — simple, powerful, and effective! uBlacklist is a life-saver. It helps clean up Google search results by hiding spammy, low-quality, or annoying websites. The UI is simple, and adding sites to the blacklist takes just seconds. It supports public subscription lists too, which is a big plus. One small suggestion: it would be awesome to have better sync options across devices, especially mobile support or integration with cloud services. Overall, huge thanks to the developer! This extension has made my search experience much cleaner and more efficient.
Very useful extension that works better then a lot of simillar ones.
It's broke and it seems the devs won't fix?
Works but doesn't block blacklisted sites from widgets
Does NOT work at all with Google 2025-07-14
Extension doesn't work. The block links are missing. It worked for a year, and now it doesn't. I tried disabling and enabling, but that didnt work. I reset the setting from within the extension settings page, but that didn't work.
10 negative reviews in a row COMBO, you devs suck
It stopped working entirely. I only got it to block Reddit results from my DDG searches.... and now the searches are full of Reddit results again and even refreshing the search doesn't get rid of them.
Hi, make it possible to block sites via Google Lense! Due to the fact that sites remain unblocked after blocking.
The new button display method of the 9.0.0 version update is really terrible. Every time you move the mouse, your eyes feel dizzy.
Doesn't work, regardless if I am on Chrome or Edge
what happen? block this site no longer shows. ghostbuster shows on first result then hover on following results only. Much better before
version 9.0.0 it's terrible. Please, restore "uBlacklist has blocked ** site" on google search page. In the meantime i've restored manually previous version 8.12.0.
update sucks.
update ruined it, 0/10
dosent work on google/opera gx
I've been looking for a long time for an extension that works on edge that will let me exclude websites from googles search results. While many extensions claim they do this, none have worked until I tried this one. This actually works on edge using google. I'd recommend this to anyone!
This should be built into the browser by default!!! I can't recommend it enough!
Perfect! I was so tired of reddit and quora results filling up my search screens. In a matter of minutes, I no longer see them. Thank you!
Worked fine for years but recently, i see the link "block this site" and when i click on it, it goes to that site. I have to manually enter the URL in the extension settings!
Works great for me on Chrome. Been using it for over a year now. Blocks out all the fake news. There's more depth to this than people realize. You can go into options for all types of configurations and dialogue allowances, including to allow/not allow "block this site". Too bad it's not supported for google chrome on android...
This currently DOES NOT WORK on Google searches. The "block this site" does not show up.
Pretty good, but it doesn't work on startpage, maybe you should look at that?
Did exactly what I needed with no fuzz.
Not working at all?
Do its job and very well. But this addon could be improved by more active updates.
one of the best addons for chrome
Not functioning at all
Nice extension, but it doesn't block social media videos. Regular social media links get blocked, but not videos. Also, it would be nice to not have to type "*://" in front of every domain, like maybe the extension could assume all protocols by default unless specified otherwise.
This works so awesome! I wish I would have thought of looking for this before today. I have been wanting to block all mainstream media on both sides from my search results and this is the only true way to remove them. Love it! Thank You devs! It saves me so much time when trying to scan the news.
I really want this plugin to be a bit better. It's so close, but it needs a bit more work to be really good. GOOD: Works very well on DuckDuckGo. I blocked Amazon and did a search for "table". DDG had 4 results without the plugin, and 0 with the plugin. BAD: Doesn't make a dent in Google because of Google's product section listings. I blocked Amazon.com and searched for "table". Without the plugin, there were 12 results. With the plugin, there were still 10. All of the amazon results were in the "Popular products", "More products" etc sections. BAD: There is no "Block this site" link on Google's product section listings. BAD: I am not seeing a "Block this site" link on DuckDuckGo search results. BAD: It is important to be able to quickly turn the extension on and off if you want to temporarily see blocked sites. The only way I found was to open the plugin settings and remove all of your filters, then search, then put them all back. This is extremely inconvenient. There should be a switch in the pinned plugin panel that allows you to suspend the plugin, then turn it right back on. In the end, it was more effective (but also more annoying) to use Google's built in filter -site:amazon.com to block all amazon search results.
Works on the main search page, but News isn't filtered and it's my main use.
ahora funciona godines
It is an excellent chrome extension!!!
I've been hoping to find something like this for a while. Thank you!
Great tool for blocking the fandom wiki
This plugin is a must if you want even remotely relevant results on Google. Bye bye pinterest, microsoft community, all news media etc.
The only thing that would make it better is if it allowed you to also block similar image results, when you click on images on google.
So good. never have to see GeeksForGeeks again.
nice
uBlacklist is a must-have Chrome extension that lets you block unwanted websites from Google search results. It is a key tool for filtering out fake news sites like Hindustan Times, which often push biased or pro-terrorist propaganda. Finally, a cleaner, more reliable search experience!
good to use
You have to manually add a domain to the extension options page. I remember an extension where I can just right click a link and choose "remove from search results". That's how it should work. I also noticed that the devs don't ever respond to reviews, or comments on Github. What is wrong with you?"
