- I have been a long term StayFocusd user however recently discovered that either it is compromised or they are selling our browsing data. StayFocusd is injecting a tracker: chrome-extension://<StayFocusd ID>/assets/youtube-hulu-vast-ads.js. Specifically, it appears as they are using PanelMeasurement, an ad measurement SDK that pays extension developers to embed their tracking in exchange for revenue. However, they do not disclose that they are selling data - in fact, they specifically mention that they do not share data. They are not to be trusted! Remove StayFocusd and use an alternative that is not using you for profit.

- I don't think I've ever written a review for a chrome extension, but this is literally so perfect, has all the exact functionalities I was looking for

- It is really good, I have the challenge mode on and I have a very short attention span so I don't bother trying to change my limited time longer. I also really like how the nuclear mode can't be reversed, so I can't get off task. Helped me actually complete tasks without distractions.

- There is a big design flaw when selecting to permit only Allowed Sites; you should hardcode the ability to still allow to access the Dashboard. I did not add the dashboard URL to my allowed sites so now I need to probably delete the extension, reinstall and manually add all the urls that I added when trying to configure my list.

- Really work, now it's on me how I control my temtations

- Very useful, and easy to understand, I like the nuclear option the best because it prevents you from changing the allowed time, also using the require challenge mode is very good because it limits quick cheats.

- This worked well for me for many years, but I think I've gotten too good at beating the system. The loophole whereby I click a site and immediately jump to a different window allows near unlimited scrolling. I'm starting to look to other extensions which seem to stop the page from loading earlier.

- I like the interface, especially the 'nuclear button' and the idea that the only way to disable it is to type in a long paragraph about a procrastinator without any error. It really forces you to self reflect upon your actions.

- love the extension. extremely useful, and user friendly.

- it is very strict, unlike other extensions that always say "add a minute" "five more minutes" so this is very good for staying focused.

- Glad to say I've uninstalled this extension after a few years. Started bugging out at random times and blocking pages that aren't even blacklisted. One of the buggiest extensions I've ever had the displeasure of using.

- twitter closed itself in front of my eyes and a smile immediately crept across my face because i realized this had caught me wasting my day getting mad at twitter when i should be getting mad at counterstrike, even when i couldnt tell i was wasting my time in the moment

- its usually great and works well but recently its been resetting and i lose all my blocked websites etc. i'm not sure why this is happening but it immediately makes me less productive cause it takes a bit of time for me to set everything back up. before this it was great and super effective though

- I've used this extension for years, mostly for the nuclear mode, used to work great. But lately every freaking update resets the whole extension and doesn't let me add any new blocked website for a while. I find myself spending an hour everytime trying to understand the issue. Would be fine if it wasn't a productivity boosting extension, now you're just preventing me from doing my work. Fix the damn issue FFS, just do it for your loyal customers !

- exactly, word by word, what i was looking for.

- I've used this extension for 8 years, and it worked great.... Until the updates and bug fixes seemingly stopped, and the extension started going rogue. The extension started blocking websites that were allowed/not blocked, and started blocking sites seemingly at random even though I completely disabled the extension in it's internal settings. I have 1 hour set to my allowed time, and it would completely ignore that allowed time and skip straight to blocking constantly. The irony is that it became more convenient NOT to use the extension than to use it since it constantly got in the way of my work. From October all the way to now, it's been an absolute buggy mess, and everything has been going down since the partnership with StayFree and the developer started to develop this for monetary gain. All those bug reports in the Discord from users for months, and nothing has been done about it at all. This extension had my faith and patience to be fixed, but it's absurd how these simple bugs haven't been patched with the amount of reports and time they had. Goodbye for now, or maybe even forever. I'll use it again when everything is fixed.

- effort has been put into, love it and it exactly finishes its purpose to keep the user productive

- So grateful for this extension and that it's free. One of the best features is the custom message in which you have to type out the message of your choice before you can edit your blocked apps. (I wrote a super long one, so I basically won't be able to access those websites/apps again.) I love the wholesome little pop ups that you get when doing certain actions. There is one when you set your time to 0 for your website groups, there is 2 more on the custom message feature as well that make you have to type everything over again. One occurs when you misspell your custom message and the other occurs when you copy and paste(which is a lifesaver).

- thank you! helping me get my degree

- Used to be a great extension but the ads for "Luna adblock" ruined it. Are you going to stop displaying ads or not?
- Anonymous
- The best extension for blocking websites the thing about this is it is very strict , that was the strictness I was looking for and the message typing feature is so amazing this makes it difficult change setting

- StayFocusd does its main job well and is useful for productivity. However, I was disappointed to see promotional pop-ups for Luna Adblock/VPN appearing directly on YouTube, even though I never installed Luna VPN or agreed to such ads. The overlay appears briefly and can be confusing, making it look like a system-level app or VPN activity. For a productivity extension, this kind of advertising feels intrusive and unnecessary. The extension would be much better if promotions were clearly optional or completely removed. Transparency matters, especially when users are trying to focus.

- I declined to allow for data collection and now it doesnt work anymore

- App used to be decent albeit slightly buggy (e.g., it occasionally wouldn't start the timer when it was supposed to), but has become pretty much unusable since I updated to Tahoe about a week ago. It now often forgets all of the sites that were supposed to blocked, and also sometimes blocks all of my restricted sites way too prematurely and broadly (e.g., have a few sites that each have their own 30min restriction, but all become blocked after spending ~5 minutes on a single one of the sites). Bummer!

- exactly what I was searching for
