I spent a lot of time reading the materials and the only thing this extension did was to break my current play/pause button to work on youtube. What I needed: When youtube is not in focus, I would like to click << key to go 5s << and I would like to click >> key to go 5s >>. But I haven't found a single extension that can do that. When I have youtube focused I press << key to go 5s << and I would like to click > key to go 5s >>. But when it is not in focus, there is no option at all

• (2021-03-18) Orkhan Allahverdi: Normally Mac Media keys should work with YouTube (It does with YouTube music). But only play/pause works for me out of the box. Next and Forward only work 2 times out of 100 tries. This Extension worked like a charm! Thank you! Keep it up! Everybody that uses chrome extensions and such free tools should consider making donations so that there is an incentive for the developer to keep updating those useful tools!

• (2021-03-08) Gabriel Calin: Reinstalled it after a year. It was working before. Not anymore. Nothing actually works for me. I enabled Plex, I added my Plex hostname as an alias, I reloaded the options page, no alias was saved. Still, somehow, when I start a song on Plex, it detects the site as Plex TV, not sure if it's right or not, but I can't do anything with the song: pause, play next, play previous, nothing works. Hope they correct it soon.

• (2020-09-28) Victor Villacis: I was having some issues with YouTube as it was not recognizing it. In chrome browser I went into Chrome://flags -> Ctrl+f "media keys" -> Enabled it. This is because chromes new update allows you to control YouTube with the media keys. Only problem is I had 20 windows open so on play it plays all of them. So I just set it back to default and disabled it in StreamKeys and now I can use it for my music player like YouTube music.

• (2020-01-27) Pascal Rigo: I'm loving this extension and I've been using it for some time now. Great addition to your Chrome! BUT the extension requires "access to the browser history"... I'm not convinced this is purely for functional purposes. I don't think it is for the "previous track" feature, looks more like a privacy intrusion to me. Also. for Mac users I've had to remove/redo the hotkeys binding recently, I don't know why but some hotkeys stopped working on my mac. maybe not related to the extension itself. Issue is now fixed.

  I finally got a single youtube tab to respond to the media keys on my Microsoft 600 usb keyboard on my desktop pc running chrome and windows 10, but when I launch another tab with youtube, it shows up but no matter how I set the priority the media key only controls the first one - and it took a half hour to get even that one to work. And when I click support it gives me the "back to safety" warning. I mean - is this just some virus?

  I have Chrome/Windows 10/Microsoft wired keyboard 600 with media keys. My goal is us the play/pause media key to stop and start a youtube video while Microsoft Excel is the active application so I can play the Youtube video in the background as I work and pause it without having to switch from Excel to Chrome and back. With Streamkeys installed, the Mute media key works, but the Play/Pause media key does nothing, even if YouTube is the active application. If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated

  Either this stopped working for me or I have some contradicting setting set up somehow, but when I use play/pause all tabs toggle, so if it was playing it's now paused, and if it was paused it's now playing. I mainly use the extension for YouTube. Just to test it with another player going at the same time, I tried opening up an iHeart tab and the play/pause toggled the YouTube videos but the iHeart tab did nothing-continued playing. All site priorities are set to the default 1.

  Hi, Thanks for making this extension, it works great. I have two questions though. 1) Are there by any chance any plans for adding the ability to jump backward and forward in a video? In YouTube there is functionality for that (left and right arrow key when you play the video), however it is not available via global shortcuts. 2) I have noticed that if I have Streamkeys installed in multiple Chrome profiles, then it stops working. Usually I have to disable it in the profile where I'm not using it. I know it is not a typical use-case, but it would still be nice not have this problem. Thank you.

  I was changing the shortcuts and now none of the shortcuts work after trying to change the default shortcuts once. I tried uninstallating and then reinstalling but sadly none of the shortcuts work--even the default shortcuts. I wish I didn't try changing the shortcuts. I was trying to get a more optimal keyboard reach.

  Does not work with netflix anymore! This is sad :) Tried swapping around priorities (work as intended, when netflix should have priority, nothing happens), reinstalling stream keys, disabling any tabs with stream open and closing them. This problem does exist for some weeks now, I am wondering why I cannot see other people having the same problem. I have not changed or added any other extensions in the time since this stopped working.

  While I know that Chrome now has native media key support, my computer does NOT have any media keys so I continue to need this extension. Recently, this extension stopped working for Spotify Web Player which is my sole music player. It does not recognize when a song is playing and none of the controls in the extension work both keyboard shortcuts or from the extension popout. This is so disappointing for me as I love the global hotkey functionality especially the ability to "Like" songs. Please please please release an updated version with a fix, I will love you forever! haha

  on the whole works great especially for dual monitor users with the global hotkeys. only hotkey i cant get to work forwhatever reason is the global mute hotkey. also a nice change if you select the option to only send commands to the most recent player the "stop all players" hotkey currently only sends it to the most recent player as well instead of all players like the name suggests

  Hi, I used to use streamkeys (awesome app, btw) with saavn. Then they changed their name to JioSaavn. I used to update the alias to JioSaavn and then it would work. Now it looks like you changed some part of it to show JioSaavn (though alphabetically, it's still where Saavn was). Unfortunately now, NONE OF THE KEYS WORK. So basically, streamkeys is no longer working with JioSaavn at all. Thanks in advance for your help!

  So I've noticed that when desktop applications are bound to use volume keys at the global level (nothing to do with this extension, just in general), the media player's app volume is controlled exclusively, but not the actual system volume or anything else (whereas if it isn't set at a global level, it adjusts BOTH the app and system volume). If this function was able to be added to this app it would be perfect. Currently media keys within chrome are working fine for most web players by default, but there is no way to adjust volume on the fly without going into the tab it's playing and utilize its volume bar. Totally understandable if this simply isn't possible, but the functionality certainly can exist at the Windows system level and would be GREATLY appreciated!

  I've given it 5 stars because the app has worked for so long but recently has stopped working, it no longer pauses Twitch which is so helpful while gaming and watching a stream. Please look in to this devs, it may be the new Chrome update that has now got this feature built in.

  Stopped working in windows 10 recently. I noticed I couldn't do anything in spotify or pause a youtube stream in the background. Using Windows 10 1903 and Corsair K70 with iCue 3.18.77. Was working as intended, not sure when things broke.

  streamkeys.com is nearly unusable because the TLS certificate expired, and the HTTP site automatically redirects HTTP-> HTTPS. You can click past the warning but Chrome makes that hard to find.

  Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the extension, manually setting the media keys multiple times, turning off chrome's recent media keys override, it's just failing. I just checked and it doesn't even seem to be working with youtube anymore...

  The "Stop All Players" functionality no longer works me. I've tried switching between "In Chrome" and "Global", as well as changing the associated hotkey. No luck--nothing happens even after restarting Chrome. I'm running Windows 10 and the latest version of StreamKeys.
