Bitwarden ist der einfachste und sicherste Weg all deine Logins und Passwörter zu speichern, während du sie zwischen all deinen Geräten synchronisierst.
Passwort-Diebstahl ist ein echtes Problem. Die Webseiten und Apps, welche du verwendest, werden jeden Tag angegriffen und oftmals werden deine Passwörter dabei gestohlen. Wenn das gleiche Passwort bei mehreren Apps und Websites verwendet wird, können Hacker sich damit ganz einfach auch in deine E-Mails oder deinen Bank-Account einloggen.
Sicherheitsexperten empfehlen daher, dass du für jeden Account, den du erstellst, ein anderes, zufällig generiertes Passwort verwendest. Aber wie sollst du dir all diese Passwörter merken? bitwarden hilft dir dabei, deine Passwörter zu erstellen, speichern und zu verwalten.
Bitwarden speichert all deine Logins in einem verschlüsselten Tresor, der mit allen Geräten synchronisiert wird. Da er komplett verschlüsselt ist, bevor er überhaupt dein Gerät verlässt, hast nur du Zugriff auf deine Daten. Nicht einmal Bitwarden kann deine Daten lesen, selbst, wenn wir es wollten. Deine Daten sind mit einer AES-256-Bit-Verschlüsselung, sowie Salted Hashing und PBKDR2 SHA-256 abgesichert.

- recent update have serious performance impact. chrome become laggy opening 3 tabs at the same time on 7950x. disabling this extension immediately solves the problem. this is unacceptable as the extension should not interact with pages unless input box is activated. bitwarden is really good and I use it daily, please fix this. thanks

- Need to remove and reinstall it stops the freezing of chrome, this single extension really messed up my whole pc when chrome was open, remove and reinstall fixed it, seems a new version is what was needed

- Within the past 9 days startup of chrome was EXTREMELY slow, I could barely click on a tab without it pausing. I disabled all extensions and started turning on one by one, always restarting chrome afterwards. I found that slowness culprit to be this extension which is distressing to me as I use it across many devices. I have Chrome Version 147.0.7727.102 (Official Build) (64-bit) running on Windows 11 64-bit on Dell XPS 13. I have disabled the extension for now. Please fix this. This problem is real and unacceptable.

- Pretty much broken since the newest update. Also, the Passkey integration hasn't properly worked in quite a while, especially the fallback to alternative methods was broken from the get-go.

- Had to disable the extension. Huge lag between keystrokes and everything permanently slows to a crawl with it even just enabled. Absolutely unusable atm.

- I don't know what happened but now when you leave this enabled it brings chrome to a standstill, typing literally takes seconds between keystrokes to register. Unusable. I wasted over an hour thinking it was a browser or other problem and diagnosing which extension was causing it.

- Something is up with 2026.3.0, just a single chrome tab with the extension active is enough to completely freeze chrome. ryzen 5600x, 64gb 3200mhz of ram, RTX 5070. Disabling completely fixes the problem. Hoping they fix as the app is great otherwise.

- Lately the extension has gotten slower and slower, and most recently it get stuck on "loading" status especially after a chrome restart. It is not uncommon that I have to wait for 2 minutes to "unlock".

- For the past ~4 months, the extension has been effectively unusable for me. I consistently encounter either “wrong password” errors or the exception "Cannot read properties of null (reading 'toWrappedAccountCryptographicState')". In addition, the extension repeatedly prompts me to save credentials whenever I fill out a form, but fails to recognize or autofill existing logins. As a result, I have to manually copy my username, password, and TOTP every time I log in, which defeats the purpose of using a password manager. If this isn’t resolved soon, I’ll likely switch to an alternative like Proton Pass.

- The last update generates errors in the console (some issue with bootstrap): being a frontend developer, this is fairly annoying. Also, the "Save login" window now pops up almost every time I submit a form. I just merged a pull request on Github and it popped up, for example.

- Hope you can implement an "order by exact / full domain" feature for the auto-fill extension. This means that if there is an exact match for website.domain.com, it should appear first in the list, then anything else *domain.com followed. This would be very useful when you have multiple login items saved for the same domain.

- Spams developer console with errors when opening forms which are not even login forms in localhost dev environment, even if you set it to not be used on all sites. So not really viable to use this at the moment if you're a web developer.

- Initially, I was quite happy with the extension and the service in general, but recently the extension basically stopped working, which makes using it super annoying. Every time I need to unlock it, the domain name drop down breaks and selection of bitwarden.eu doesn't work anymore, it keeps using bitwarden.com. As the result, I cannot login into my account. The only way is to disable/enable the extension. Edit: Version 2026.2.0 Edit 2: Downgraded to one start as after the extension was reinstalled the problem persists. The bug makes the extension basically unusable.

- Multiple people have reported this bug here along with on Github over the past few weeks. the canned response is: "Hi there, for the team to look further into the issue you are experiencing, please contact support directly at [contact url]." Can you provide any estimate of when this will be resolved? The only workarounds I'm seeing are to disable the features I depend on Bitwarden for which I don't want to do.

- I have been using it for years. I highly recommend it. It all began because, as a normal computer user, keeping track of every password and login became too much. I found myself using the same password over and over again. We all know how bad this is, so I needed something to keep track of these things and come up with strong passwords or let my fancy fly and make up my own, depending on how I feel. So there you go.
