  • (2024-11-20) Adam Symes: Update on 20/11/24 (Version 4.137.1) - This with the latest version of Chrome (131.0.6778.86) the extension is totally broken. The icon in fill fields doesn't bring up my fill list, it instead opens a non-populated window in the top left which does nothing. The copy/paste function is totally broken. I visit sites where I have TOTP saved, and this fails to fill properly, either filling with with not enough characters or something totally non-related. And finally when clicking the extension icon in the toolbar, it displays login suggestions for sites totally unrelated to the one I'm currently on. Extension Settings are also not being saved, they are reverting back to the default general settings. As part of a company currently paying a lot of money for a subscription, this is totally unacceptable and needs fixing as soon as possible. Latest version (4.120.0) is broken, it's not filling in username and password boxes. The box where you select your login appears at a random location on the page, with nothing in it. Having to copy/paste from the vault which negates the point of a secure password manager. Please fix this ASAP. I thought you were making progress with this extension with the regular updates, but this latest one has ruined it.

  • (2024-10-23) Jeffery Pyle: Update 10-23-24: Broken again. Can only use the vault, when the vault works. Extension doesn't work at all. Updated 8-19-24: STILL CAN'T GET IT RIGHT! It works for a while but then breaks again. The Desktop app, the Extension and the Android app are continually broken after new releases. First, something is broken, then eventually fixed. Then weeks or months later, the same issues return. The extension keeps prompting to add passwords to my vault when a password for that site already exists. The extension frequently can't find the logon. I have to open Lastpass.com, re-login, open my Vault and copy and paste the username and password. I'm just tired of messing with the same things over and over. Somebody at LastPass put the B-Team in charge. I'm in the process of replacing LastPass with something else. No Mas. Quality matters. Obviously not tested properly before released to the public. Old review below: Keeps fuggin up! These same errors detailed in the following just reoccur randomly. Sometimes works if I logon from the Last Pass home page. Sometimes doesn't It was working fine for awhile, now it can't find anything in the vault and prompts to save new entries for websites that already have passwords saved in LastPass. Search Your Vault doesn't work in the extension. Logging out, restarting, clearing the cache, etc., don't fix it. How this extension works for awhile and then the same problems recur over and over again beats me. LastPass fixed everything just when it was time for renewal. I won't repeat that mistake next time.

  • (2024-09-05) Updated Sep. 2024: I am using Linux Mint and Chrome. After updating Chrome several months ago, I now have to verify my Lastpass password every time I use Chrome now. Very annoying.
  • (2024-08-07) Ryan Sullivan: Update on 8/7/2024 After working with technical support on this issue, I'm dropping this from 3 stars to 2 stars. Tech support is only offering basic troubleshooting steps, and after months of dealing with this issue, I'm done with LastPass (after using it for 1-2 years). Having to re-authenticate every 30-60 minutes is SUCH a pain (very distracting), and is worth the multi-hour hassle of switching to another Password Manager software. Previously 5 star rating on 1/16/21, but dropped it to 3 star on 6/4/24 due to: - The re-auth timeout is clearly broken. Have to re-authenticate every day, with some days I'm reauthenticating multiple times a day on the same machine. Re-authentication should only be done once a month per computer login (per location). - The re-auth prompt is broken. It keeps asking me daily (or more often) to plug in my Yubi-key. I usually just hit the "back" arrow and type my password, and then it thinks I'm logged in for a while. This didn't work yesterday, but usually it works. Doesn't seem secure to me? - Multiple recent Issues where I have to sync, remove LastPass (extension for Chrome browser), re-install LastPass, re-authenticate, try again. This is such a big interruption to what I was trying to get done. - The benefit of using LastPass at work, and LastPass at home for free is fairly good. Sometimes it gets hairy at work, when I've shared a work card with my personal (cuz I need to access some stuff from home), and I've linked my home LastPass to my work address, and I'm trying to choose what (duplicate) card to use. It's sometimes frustrating. - Some right-click-copy features only exist on Passwords, like "Copy Username" and "Copy Password". Those save time. Why are they not implemented on other card types? It's such a pain to edit cards of non-Password types, just so that can access the data to select it, copy it, then close it, ect. I considered giving it 2 stars, but 50-70% of it works flawlessly, so I had to give it a 3 star rating. The app on the iPhone works very well with Safari browser, but not very well in the IOS Chrome browser.

Já foi uma excelente ferramenta para garantir uma segurança maior nos dados online, principalmente agora que estamos on-line para tudo. Mas se o usuário não tiver consciente da ferramenta seus dados continuam inseguros, pois, só funciona corretamente se o usuário configurar para tal. Isso quando a extensão não está apresentando bugs.

  • (2024-04-26) Markus Krainz: It is very common that you have to manually copy paste the passwords because the autofill doesn't work. Even on popular websites like Paypal. The default behavior of staying logged in across reboots is crazy from a security perspective. And the amount of security breaches is mind boggling. And the support for paying customers is a bad joke. The Android companion app is even worse. The autofill there works like 20% of the time bordering on useless. It has been in this state FOR YEARS and they are not fixing it. The GUI often doesn't work, doesn't render correctly or shows the same action twice. Because the Android app is so broken I have stopped recommending this product. Update January 2023: the new update also broke that matching password entries are shown when you click on the logo. So in the very common case where the autofill is broken (even on popular sites like Amazon) you can't even manually copy paste any more. The "all relevant" Passwords tab just stays empty. It briefly worked last week and now it's broken again. It gets worse and worse! I would give negative stars if I could. Update March 2023: Not only is the app on desktop still completely broken and doesn't find relevant passwords any more on desktop to fill in. Now I can't add multiple entries for the same top level domain any more if they share the same user name. I can only update the old entry. Password changes that are shown in one tab don't show in another tab of the same browser. After adding a new password it takes several minutes for it to be shown, even on the same computer. I didn't think it was possible to get any worse. Minus 10 stars is still too much. This is a good example for an app that got so bad that it forces users away overcoming even the strongest lock-in effect. I have terminated subscription renewal and am actively looking for a replacement to this app no matter how painful the change will be. I probably won't be updating this review substantially any more since I will stop using this.

  • (2024-02-22) Claudia Dillman: Having same problems with version 4.126 on Windows 10 as the previous February 2024 reviewers - converted Premium account to Free account effective with renewal date. Followed all instructions to export passwords BEFORE cancelling Premium service (many I had changed 1/1/2024). LP Support pages assured me that Free service would continue to work and save my passwords....NOT the case. Now, I've been coerced into renewing the annual fee for PREMIUM service and I'm in a circular argument with LastPass attempting to log in to PREMIUM account - won't allow me to log in, change a forgotten password. Hate this! Much like one of the February reviewers, not inclined to load the 4.3 version either.
  • (2024-01-23) Removing the extension and resorting to Chrome's own password manager. I've used LP for years, but it seems to me the free version got worse and worse. It seems to be glitchy when the main site has sub-sites, for example if I saved a login under zzz.com but the site ultimately redirects to yyy.zzz.com it will NOT fill the password. Other sites have more than one field for the login and no matter how I edit the the profile, it will still not fill it. Also, very intrusive in offering to generate a password thus obstructing the very field I am trying to fill in.
  • (2023-12-18) Mitch Baylis: Been using lastpass for years as a paying customer. It was never perfect but it sufficed and the effort in changing always outweighed the bugs. However the last few months have been bug after bug after bug. The newest version of the chrome plugin is so much worse than the last version. Lastpass is so outdated, buggy and just a terrible user experience all around. I've changed to a different password manager and couldn't be happier. 6+ months on from changing to BITWARDEN and not only is it free but it is completely free of bugs, everything works and the support have been over and above amazing. If I could give lastpass negative 5 stars I would - it is so far away from being even 1 star compared to the other password managers now available.

  • (2023-11-14) Dave DuPlantis: New auto-fill is still not working great but the biggest issue was a surprise update over the weekend that cleared all your authentications and required you to re-authenticate on every device where this is installed - worked fine on my Windows devices and barely worked, if at all, on my Mac; extension made no attempt to contact the server, which meant I couldn't log in, then decided my account was locked for too many "failed" attempts even though I used the correct password and had my authenticator open. It's too bad, because other password managers don't have some of the features that LastPass does, so I don't feel that there are viable alternatives for my needs; if you're just looking for password storage then something else out there is likely a much better fit. This extension has gone steadily downhill over the last few years and this update made it so much worse.

Intenté hacer el preoceso de recuperación de contraseña pero a hubo un error de la aplicación que no me dejó proceder. Esto habla muy mal de la aplicaclión. Ya no confio en esta extensión.

In the last year, they have made the product worse on a monthly basis, to the point where I am switching away from it. They got hacked, and as a response, they made it impossible for their users to use it. The last straw, it won't allow my team members to create accounts with our domain name, because it's not a .com!?!?
  • (2023-11-06) Dan Courcelles: As a developer, it's very annoying that it warns me every time I try to use a password that I use for the same application in test and live since and it warns me 'Reused password detected'. Even if I dismiss it the first time, it ALWAYS warns me and the hoops I need to go through to do anything with this extension is painful. The only reason I use it is because my workplace chose it. I would not use this extension for free, nevermind paying for it.

Real businesses will send this via an authenticator app. But you morons send the code to an email that I can't access because my password is stored in the vault.
  • (2023-11-05) Judi Young: I have used LastPass for years and even paid for premium. Now it won't let me complete login until I reset multifactor authentication app, which requires access to email, which I can't do until I can log in to LastPass. And endless loop and incredibly poorly thought out process. Why is it requiring me to reset a separate app? Why do sms text messages or phone calls no longer work for multifactor? As soon as I gain access, I am downloading my passwords and going old school, canceling LastPass. Shame, you used to be good.

Benutze den Vivaldi Browser und Problem sowohl bei der Windows Version als auch bei der Linux Version! Ich nutze Lass Pass schon von Anfang an, aber wenn diese Probleme nicht behoben werden, sehe ich mich gezwungen auf eine Alternative umzusteigen, dann wars das!

I have to uninstall/reinstall the extension every 1-2 weeks because it stops working. If you're already a subscriber you're feeling the pain of a product getting worse not better over time. The recent reviews say it all - if you're looking for a password manager - this isn't it.

  • (2023-10-27) Phil Ormsby: I was a happy LastPass customer from 2012 to about 2020 when I started noticing many more issues with the product, but recently it has become more of a hindrance than a help. It used to be hands-down the best password manager but for the last 3 years it's been getting more and more unmanageable: slow to function, causing websites to hang, failing to fill in details correctly or function at all, not to mention the data breach issues. Out of sheer frustration (nobody likes to go to the hassle of switching services) I tried Roboform. What a difference - it's everything that LastPass used to be. I transitioned over in 2 days and dropped my LastPass subscription. Such a shame that a once great product has been so diminished.

I had it written down, typed the confirm by reading what i wrote down, and now am permanently locked out of my account cause: "Your current browser didn't save account recovery data on this computer." When i did the last recovery on in this browser on this same computer. Trash, use something that works.

Что только не делал - удалял в кабинете в списке мобильных, удалял приложение - и ничего не помогло! Уважаемые разработчики вопрос - как в вашем гприложений ДЕ-активироваться на мобильном что бы получить доступ с ПК ???? Я уже мозг сломал!

Please fix it. I actually use Last Pass Daily. I have spend a lot of time tracking down the issue and the cause is the add-in.

  • (2023-10-16) Yeronimo P: Over the years this extension is showing more and more issues. Filling in forms where it really shouldn't like all filter options in Azure DevOps. Having overlays over pages, so I can't click on half the sire. Having to then remove the overlay using the dev tools. In username/password boxes it forces itself so much over the fields, you can't enter anything manually anymore. All in all very poor.Only using it because it the choice of my company

Hacked twice and it took two months after the last hack to disclose to customers Direct quote "I want to share with you an important update about the security incident we disclosed on December 22, 2022.
