  • (2023-09-26) Will: Usability has gone down hill, wasn't a fan of the way you were forced to use only one way of accessing the service and that this was rolled out on to the existing user base in the way it was, hearing too much about security issues and compromises on more than one occasion. Have migrated to Bitwarden for now where none of these problems seems to exist so far. Haven't ruled out moving back to LastPass in the future completely but for now my account has been deleted.

However the last few months have been bug after bug after bug. The newest version of the chrome plugin is so much worse than the last version. Lastpass is so outdated, buggy and just a terrible user experience all around. I've changed to a different password manager and couldn't be happier.

I have been unable to log into my online account and can only access my passwords in offline mode. There seems to have been a reset of some sort as it is showing an old disconnected email rather than the one I signed up with. After contacting "customer service" multiple times for resolution nothing has worked or been fixed and I will be canceling my plan. Since LastPass was purchased by their current owners the product has rapidly declined leading me to believe that management is ineffective and are tanking this product on purpose. Sad to see a quality product ruined by poor leadership and workmanship.

The box where you select your login appears at a random location on the page, with nothing in it. Having to copy/paste from the vault which negates the point of a secure password manager.   • (2023-08-11) Spencer Mullen: After being a premium user of the lastpass app for many years, I highly recommend you move away from this service. The practices and systems implemented by this company over time prove that they no longer prioritize helping users and would rather turn a profit. Requiring premium to use multiple types of devices and other essential features (in my opinion) makes it so it isn't practical to use lastpass anymore. Although I liked the interface and time-savers like autosave and autofill, many of lasspass' competitors have caught up in these capabilities. Furthermore, there are many aspects of the app that do not work like auto-changing a password for a site (I have found it only works on a few sites and does not do anything on others) and many glitches have arisen from the new updates. Finally, the biggest reason to stop using lastpass is security. With the breaches to lastpass in 2022, who knows if the app is safe to use. Although the company assures users it is completely safe as long as you follow their best practices, it is likely they are downplaying the severity of the breach in order to maintain customers. Even if the app is still 'safe' the breaches in 2022 prove that the company can not be relied on, especially because the entire selling point of their product is security itself. Given how easy it is to export your password data and move to a different password manager (which are free or cost less for premium too), I feel that there is no reason to stick with lastpass in 2023. If you have been using lastpass, I recommend you export your data to another manager (which took me 5 minutes) and find the time to individually change some of your important passwords. Stay safe.

  • (2023-08-08) Donna P: Well I'm at least glad to know that it's not just me,. I have had wonderful experiences with LastPass in the past. The last few months have been an absolute nightmare. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it will only enter the username and not the password, or the password and not the username, or nothing at all. It forces me to go into the app, find the site I need to log in, and click/paste all the information, one.at.a.time. Honestly, it was easier with my little notebook and handwritten passwords. And this is supposed to be "premium user". Anyone have a suggestion for a password program that works? I don't mind paying for a decent product.

I don't think your standard non-technical user will know to go into options and make sure they get logged out after inactivity. Imagine being handed a computer to troubleshoot and there is full access to their passwords stored in LastPass
  • (2023-08-04) Ace Strife: To people having issues with the recent update, go into your vault > advanced settings > disable: "Use improved save and fill" The new update is a non-functional disaster and deprecated whatever old setting we had to stay on the old design. At least we can be thankful there's still a switch. OP below, written in 2017: ---- Extremely important addon to daily life developed by designers who continually keep making the experience of using it worse and worse. I've not been as frustrated with changes of a browser addon as I have with the latest 4.1 update.. aside from maybe 4.0 which I still don't use on Firefox.
  • (2023-08-03) Jeffery Pyle: Keeps fuggin up! These same errors detailed in the following just reoccur randomly. Sometimes work if I logon from the Last Pass home page. Sometimes doesn't It was working fine for awhile, now it can't find anything in the vault and prompts to save new entries for websites that already have passwords saved in LastPass. Search Your Vault doesn't work in the extension. Logging out, restarting, clearing the cache, etc., don't fix it. How this extension works for awhile and then the same problems recur over and over again beats me. LastPass fixed everything just when it was time for renewal. I won't repeat that mistake next time.

It never worked when it should, so when I was in a hurry, I knew that LastPass will be bottleneck. Then it got some payment options when you want some additional platform, but even if you used single platform, it had to pop up a payment reminders. Moved away to Google Password - best decision.

    Having an issue keeping last pass installed for a end user. I've tried the troubleshooting steps listed by LastPass on their website. I've tried anything that's out there on say reddit and other various forums. End user is able to get it installed when in office.     Hello, I would like to change Automatically fill login information and Show fill options automatically and disable those options. But after clicking save changes are not applied (their keep enabled). I try web browser restart etc. and they still are enabled :-(

  • (2023-08-10, v:4.119.0) J Tirri: Crazy behavior in recent chrome extension
    I have been happily using LP for many many years now (10?) but I almost canceled my account today. After a recent update, LP in chrome (Mac OS) could not accept my valid Master Password. However, it did accept it when I attempted to *change* the master pw last night. After that, the data values in all my password, note, and card data records became garbage or blank, even when viewed in the Vault. I tried to log out and back in, uninstall/re-install, but no joy. However, I looked on my mobile (Android) app, and thankfully the data was still there and uncorrupted. I saw some reviews mentioning issues with a new Advanced Option: "use improved save and fill," so I disabled that, uninstalled and reinstalled the extension, and finally everything was OK in Chrome. FWIW, I subsequently set up "Passwordless" access with the LP Authenticator, and that went OK after two tries. (First time I opted to log out and try passwordless immediately, and it would not present the Authenticator option to log back in. Second time I opted to do it "later," then logged out and tried again and it worked.) I am not sure what has been going on with the Chrome extension, or if the "improved save and fill" feature was actually breaking something. I did feel very worried that my database was hosed. Online support options were unresponsive, laggy. Looking at the reviews and your logmein community forums it seems like there have been a lot of people having similar issues lately, so I am guessing your Support resources were slammed. It would be a good idea for you to push out some clear guidance to us end users so we don't walk away. I almost did, and I am still researching alternatives since my confidence in the integrity of my LP database was undermined. It's not good that I have no idea what went wrong, and feel unsure about how close I came to having all my data corrupted.
  • (2023-08-10, v:4.119.0) Michael Vidal: Turn off instead of turn on per site
    Currently you have an option to selected can read and change site data On All Sites or choose specific site to turn on. It would be easier to have On All Sites by default but turn off for a site.
