- Do not install this if you actually want to be able to get to your passwords. More than half the time, the stupid piece of trash won't even let you sign in - browser updated to latest and everything. Cancelled my paid subscription as they have once again started letting the interns push to production.

- TOTP filling is broken once again with version 2026.5.1! Both on Chrome and Edge. Now, clicking and entry in the list opens the god damn url instead of "viewing" it's details! What a lousy UX. I don't know how many such lousy UX surprises await in this revamp. Already hate it.
- Sergio Cruz
- Chrome password manager is better. Why dont you match the entire url of the website to sugest the correct password? It's anoying!
- JK Den
- Not recommended unless the input lag issue is resolved. This plugin significantly impacts the responsiveness of the input fields. This is particularly noticeable on Google Translate pages.

- Securely store and autofill your passwords effortlessly.
- Helen Gilmore
- keep showing ' iterations is null or undefined ' on Chrome and Firefox.......and same extension works good on Edge. What's wrong with this extension?
- Kai Wang
- Great extension, and thanks for bitwarden community! The only problem bother me is that i have to keep the self-host server updating. It would be great if the client could be compatible with older servers. Or user need to find someway to stop the auto update of this web extension.
- Pedro Azeredo
- I swear to god that for, some reason, the extension doesn't let me choose bitwarden.eu instead of bitwarden.com. I keep clicking at bitwarden.eu instead of bitwarden.com and it doesn't work.
- Stephen Draconius
- 2026.4.1 forces ‘Click to autofill’ by default. This means that if you click anything other than the borderless, barely visible buttons, it will autofill your password somewhere on the page, making it perfect for autofill phishing. The app worked before. I don’t know why they would do that.
- Jhon Smith
- This extension of version 2026.4.1 is freezing chrome along with the time, very annoying.
- NEON
- Forced change to "autofill" upon clicking the cards, instead of the dropdown menu. Only trouble is, the accuracy of their "autofill" feature is less than 10%. Most of the times the user has to click on the card to copy & paste the login fields. Now it's a lot tedious, and we can't even revert back to what works efficiently. What a great step backwards.

- Fails with self hosted login. Lame
- Nando Hayward
- Again, at 2026.4.1 freezes again like 2026.3.0...

- Bitwarden itself is great, but the chrome extensions is glitchy AF. Once it's locked, it keeps loading for a solid idk 5-10 minutes before you can enter a password, it's very annoying. From what I see in the reviews many other people are experiencing same problems since a while and that stil doesn't seem to be fixed. EDIT: changed my review from 2 to 1 star - now it's broken and doesn't want to load at all, just says "Vault is locked" and loading on loop since like a solid 3-5 hours. What a shame. I might have to switch to another tool if they won't fix it soon. I've spent like a solid few hours on changing passwords and manually inputing some of them too to my Vault....

- not let login for self-hosted site, keep giving error while login "An Error has Occurred"
- Jumung Gul
- Bitwarden is the best of all password manager.
- Ondřej Zahumenský
- After last update i cannot change or add new passwords - failed to fetch. So its nice you changed (or redirect) api, but obviously you didnt test it...
- Kiel
- Let me start off by saying I love Bitwarden, but I had to spend 20 minutes testing extensions one at a time to determine it was this extension slowing down my chrome! Steps to reproduce: I had 8 random tabs open (i have 32 GB RAM) and i saved and locked the list using one tab. Then I would open the browser, a single instance and from onetab open all 8 tabs, THIS EXTENSION ALONE ENABLED. and my chrome would freeze immediately as it struggled to load the tabs, I am not at all sure why, I thought it would be other extensions would never guess it was this one as its my top 3 favourite extensions. To use this I have to enable it login my various sites and disable it until its fixed. Feel free to ask for any info I can give if it helps!

- No longer fills the password only fills the id for me on my banking website: https://fednet.federal.bank.in/corp/AuthenticationController?__START_TRAN_FLAG__=Y&FORMSGROUP_ID__=AuthenticationFG&__EVENT_ID__=LOAD&FG_BUTTONS__=LOAD&ACTION.LOAD=Y&AuthenticationFG.LOGIN_FLAG=1&BANK_ID=049&LANGUAGE_ID=001

- new interface is amazing. It's no more hazy when I look a lot of passwords.

- After installing the latest extension update, I can no longer log into my account. Every time I try to authorize, I get the following error message: An unexpected error has occurred.
- LEMONed
- it takes forever before you can enter the master password.
- Alex Smith
- Extreme slowness issue on Windows has been resolved.
- Jesus Pulido
- Used to be great, but the newest update run an insane amount of javascript for autofill whenever the extension is enabled. Typing anything in certain websites, specially google colab, brings the browser to a screeching halt. Taking around 10 seconds between being able to type single new characters. Literally makes browsers unusable now.
- J Hibbard
- Bug report: Update existing login popup is missing any save/action button, it's simply blank, preventing me from saving logins.
- Inspiring Reads
- When using the password generator, it sometimes repeats a number, letter, or symbol once or more, which is dumb and defeats the whole point! This is also the case on the mobile app.
- Laurie Wu
- Oh no. I'm experiencing very similar issues with all other 1 star reviews. I'm leaving a 2 star as I know the team is aware of this. Some context to my troubles here. I got a new laptop, so I did laptop transfer. Bitwarden plugin still works, along with brave browser, great on my 2019 Intel macbook pro. Now I'm trying to use it on my 2026 M5 pro macbook pro, brave browser. And it just hangs 8/10 times when I try to load the list, it doesn't auto fill, I have to use the desktop version to copy and past onto web app logins. I can be reached if you guys need more details.
- Alan Burchette
- Not sure what the issue is. Whenever this app is enabled Chrome comes to a complete crawl and is unusable. Please fix. This happened a couple of weeks ago and I reinstalled the app, after which Chrome worked fine. Now it's doing this again.
- Hilary Hogg
- I see the same issue in Chrome as Hristijan Georgievski reported
- Hristijan Georgievski
- The extension is not working on Brave browser. I've reinstalled the extension a minimum of 5 times but it still does not want to work. When prompted to log in, I cannot log in because it tells me that my password is incorrect, meanwhile I logged in the application on my PC with the same password.
- Enzo Vecchio
- Chrome is unusable with Bitwarden installed since last update. It's been weeks. I'm a broke open-source dev and I would never let something like this go ignored for weeks on any project of mine. What the f is going on with Bitwarden?
- hitaciry
- remember me for 30 days doesn't work even for few days
- S D
- Years ago it was the best in the category. Now it crashes, hangs, requires manual sync. I just got "This extension may have been corrupted." message on the ://extensions page. After testing all open-source solutions I can only recommend one. I won't name it fully because I don't want my review to be taken down for advertising but you can search "password manager p**no" and it should pop up.
- Ronak
- Auto-fill for forms, addresses, and credit cards is unreliable.
- Renze
- terrible. It's literally impossible to use to auto fill in function because the browser extension assumes you have your account on the American server and there's no button anywhere in the browser extension window to change the region to EU. In short, for anyone in the EU its impossible to use the browser extension. Anytime you want to login to your account you have to go the actual website.
- Alex Smith
- I've loved Bitwarden and have been a paying customer for roughly five years, but the issue with this extension on Windows has become genuinely untenable. I commend and appreciate their customer support for being active and diplomatic here. Bitwarden's leadership now needs to take note of what it looks like to do your job. This organization is clearly undeserving of the people who work for it. I never thought I would ever say this, but I am sincerely losing faith in this company. It's been almost two weeks and there has not been a single formal announcement even acknowledging this problem.
- customer service BO5 41O 5OO3 barg
- Provides solid protection but sometimes flags safe sites unnecessarily
- André Melin
- 1 star untill they fix the problem. Chrome (and also Brave) literally unusable whilst extension is active.
- k k
- The latest version of the extension causes browser lag and may prevent local saving of passwords and other information when the network is unstable.
- Andrew
- Great password manager, but lately started to slow down Chrome :|
- Ryan Steckler
- Same lag as others. Support will chime in here and tell me to re-install, but that's not the point. I'm not mad that they released a bug, either and I don't care that it's from an upstream project. The REAL problem is that they didn't release a new update immediately, rolling back the problem. It's been over a month and rather than rolling back, they just expect millions of people to deal with it until they have it fixed.
- asd
- Latest update made work in chrome impossible. Month gone and still no fix...
- customer service BO5 41O 5OO3 barg
- A highly trusted and secure password manager with powerful features and seamless syncing.
- A. Bishop (Ally)
- Usually a great extension, but lately it's been hogging all of the CPU usage and dragging Chrome to a crawl. Reinstalling only fixes the issue for a couple of days before I have to go back and uninstall it again. Oddly enough it only seems to happen to my PC; other computers in our office have not experienced this issue....yet. But it's only a matter of time before I have go explain what's wrong to a bunch of tech-challenged people. Please fix this :(
- Audrius Vizbaras
- Worked perfectly up until update 2026.3.0. Imposible to work now. Pages loading very slowly. Solution - disable until update with fix.
- Teo Gherghescu
- The extension is freezing Chrome. It makes it unusable. What is going on??? How could you let something like this go to production. Had to disable it to be able to be able to use the browser.
- Matt Polkiewicz
- The extension is causing 100% CPU utilization on my Mac. Disabling it for now.
- Daniel Oosterhuis
- Been working with Bitwarden for 5+ years with great pleasure, but this week the Chrome extension started lagging my browser terribly. Not a great experience, had to disable it to even be able to browser properly. Please fix asap.
- Shen Qin
- Uninstall and reinstall extension does not solve the issue. The lag is back in 2 days. The developers did not fix this issue for a month now.
