There are some great configuration options, if you so desire, otherwise, this works out of the box, and does exactly what you installed it for: provides immediate access to myriad Google services, lest ye use G! It's worth making sure the plugin is PINNED, and perhaps dragging it so that it's all the way to the left, or to the right, so that you have quick and easy access. Also comes with options for displaying in DARK MODE.

It is very functional and useful for productivity, In particular being resident in japan I need to frequently do on the fly translations and look ups as well as access Gmail accounts. schedules etc. Being resident in japan I often need todo translations and look ups and also to access Gmail. schedules etc. Curiously, what is the difference between G Apps Extension and Shortcuts for Google? I Took note they are both developed by Jeurrisen. They seem to be functionally equivalent , except for difference in ratings. 3.9 versus 4.8. I further took note you also have a 'Black Menu for Google' extension as well also by Jeurissen. Are you marketing the same product via different titles?? Frankly I 'prefer Black menu for Google Because of its support for in place, pull down menus to View information, do searches via Google (increasingly Gemini) or be able to do short translations right in place Without opening a new tab. I did take note that the Google apps extension will embed an icon in each of the Google application pages. whereas the G app Launcher allows for customizing one's own links outside the Google ecosystem. I couple I added and use regularly are a Calculatoria because of a Tape function, Vocabulary..com and others. https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/ https://www.calculatoria.com/ Sujggestion : It would be good if you could (would) combine the functionality of these mutliple similar extensions into one almighty, kick butt extension. BTW, I am not a developer or programmer but do have IT background. I had to re-edit my review here After I took note of the multiple extensions from Jeurissen. It does not make sense for me to have multiple extensions install. that Functionally are the same or very similar. For now, I will stick with black menu for Google. As for some of the complainers here giving a one star rating, they should be a bit more conscientious that anomalies and errors do happen during development processes. It would be one thing if a developer Were to do so maliciously and intentionally. But you seem to have been conscientious of the problem and proactive to correct it. Thank you for that. Cheers.

• (2024-04-24) Takashi Obara: This, out of nowhere, started asking for all kinds of permissions! Not a good move. This should go nowhere beyond "shortcuts". edit: I found the very last line in the description, 'The extension needs access to all of your websites to use the "GMail this" feature, that copies a selected text into a new mail.' OK, I got it, and I don't need it. It is sad that I have to let this extension go for the feature I would never use. I wish it kept itself as simple as a set of shortcuts as the name said. edit2: Nice to hear from the dev himself. Thank you and I will give it a try. I will comeback later and modify my rating if all good.

• (2024-04-16) Yiannis Dermitzakis: Very useful app if using the Google Ecosystem. All Google-apps I use (and dozens I don't) are here. The shortcut menu is easily customizable and extendable. Recommended! --- previous 2-star Review 14.04.2024, removed since developer promptly fixed the issue "Read and change all your data on all websites?" Why not creating a new Extension for the "GMail this" feature instead of risking losing the trust of your users? The number of popular extensions/apps/websites that have been taken over/hijacked/sold out over the years has made me cautious about sudden, excessive permission changes. This extension stays disabled for now..
• (2024-04-15) Matthew Mayer: Please can someone suggest an alternative now that they demand access to read and change data on all websites? Used to be a 5 star extension. I was OK there was a page pop-up each week as some people must click the ads on that page so that's our little payment. Maybe not enough payment.... Because these new permission changes sound very dodgy. Time to move on. I am keeping it active for a day or two but certainly won't be logging into any sites while it is enabled.
• (2024-02-05) Jeff State: This extension works similar to all of those New Tab and New Home Page extensions. It simply adds icons for you to click for your most used utilities, although only for Google. What's missing is one of the most basic fundamentals of shortcuts: Keyboard Shortcuts. When entering a new Custom Shortcut, users should have the ability to program or overwrite their preferred keyboard shortcut. Once the user gets used to the new keyboard shortcuts, everything gets streamlined.

Tried on different profiles with no other extensions allowed and also on other systems (mac and windows), so I guess it's not an issuo on my end. Edit: Thanks for the kind answear, I've tried contacting you trough your website to no avail. Unfortunately the issue persists, on chromebook also. I've tried removing and reinstalling it also without success.

I began to type the shortcut name and the words did not appear although the cursor moved across the space. The save button appeared at the bottom and before I saved it, I went back and used my cursor to highlight the area I had just typed through. And there was my shortcut. This happened on the URL block. I entered the URL nothing appeared, I click saved and voila my shortcut was created. This has never happened before. Makes the extension almost magical! Still it's a great app!

I took 1 minute to find chat with your new icon, and then I went to check what icon google is currently using, and it hasn't change. Please revert that decision, or allow uses to choose whatever icon they want. Thank you Edit: Also... 1- I can't rearrange icons already in "My shortcuts". 2- Icons don't stick into "My shortcuts" place, when I drag them from "Available" to the place I want inside "My shortcuts", even if they appear to be in place in the configuration page, they are not there. 3- In fact the only way to add icons to "My shortcuts" is by click / double click over it on "available" which, invariably puts the icon at the end of the "My shortcuts" list. 4- Then if the list is long, take an "hour" to drag the icon UP to the place I want. Then at other times, it just takes the normal time as expected. One clarification I'd love to hear from anybody. Why this dev is having two extensions with samilar features (the other being the G App Launcher (Customizer for Google). Even the version number and sizes are same. This extension is not ''featured'' but the other one mentioned above is. Is there any difference in these two? Cheers
