Spotify Music Hotkeys

It used to work perfectly and i configired the shortcuts to CNTRL + right arrow for skip, left arrow for previous and space for stopping, but now it only opens a new spotify tab every time i click these keys. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Having issues, my chromebook reset and the extension disappeared. Upon re-installation the extension is grey and doesn't work. Help?

This is awesome! Although the Spotify web app itself stops playing every so often, this is a great add-on for anyone using it. EDIT: When I put the Chrome hotkeys to "global", it doesn't work sometimes. I'll try using the other mode and see how that works. EDIT: I've tried it again, but it doesn't work at all...:(

Works perfect! No Lag b/w the shortcut keys press and web player reaction:) Global setting helps it control from desktop too. Restart chrome once if its not working as intended!

The extension worked perfectly until yesterday. Spotify has obviously updated the web player. Now instead of start/pause a new Spotify browser tab is opened. I hope this will be fixed soon.

It's brilliant! You don't have to pay for Spotify Web Player; the free version of the downloaded Spotify has ads, whereas the online one doesn't. This app allows you to skip songs/play/pause/rewind songs for the web player. (NOTE: Go to your extensions, then go to the bottom, it should say "Keyboard Shortcuts", after that select what keys you want to have as the skip/play/pause/previous buttons and ensure it's on global as this will allow you to control the web player on and off Chrome.) I highly recommend!

It would be great, if there was also a hotkey to star songs!

After restarting Chrome, this worked perfectly. Got my multimedia keyboard programmed. This is exactly what I wanted. Thank you!! *update* I just discovered I can change the hotkeys to work outside of Chrome too, and now I can control Spotify without having to switch to Chrome first. This makes it even perfect-er! Perfectlier? perfectx2.

Does what it says on the tin. Had to hunt for the keyboard settings for a while but once I found it, it was easy to configure -- I now can control the Spotify web player with my media keyboard.

awesome! does exactly what it says :) but please think of a different set of standard keys, because for example, on the german QWERTZ keyboard layout, it is not possible to select the previous song because < and > are the same key (when you press alt + shift)
