Remove elements from web pages permanently

Image from store Nukem
Description from store There are plenty of Chrome extensions that allow you to remove elements from the page, but they all seem to be temporary. This one remembers whats been removed, and removes it whenever the page is loaded again. Once installed, press the toolbar button to start removing elements. Press the button again to stop. The options page will then be displayed showing what you've removed. Just press Close if you don't want to make any tweaks. Wildcards can be used to make it work on multiple pages from the same site (for example) and an optional delay can be set in case the element you want to remove doesn't get displayed right away. Contribute: https://github.com/Gruntfuggly/nukem Notes: Unfortunately, some websites generate content dynamically in a way that this extension can't cope with. Right click the toolbar icon to visit the options page. Then try adding a delay or reducing the scope (with the left arrow button) if the element doesn't get removed when the page is refreshed after saving your changes.

  • (2023-08-30) Pat MySecret: Without actually trying this extension, I wanted to mention that you probably use the ad blocker AdGuard or uBlock Origin anyways (and if you don't you probably should).. well AdGuard in particular, is very adept at doing similar.. just treat the area like an ad you want to get rid of.. you can always switch back if you change your mind
  • (2023-07-12) BeHappyBeVegan: doesn't work
  • (2023-03-14) Gadot MFC: I would SO much love this extension if it did not open the Options every time I Stopped Nukin'. I like that it has a large and easy to read list of what I have nuked in the options. Most of the time I Start Nukin' and I will remove 2-7 elements, and either use my browser keyboard shortcut or the extension icon in the corner to Stop Nukin' and it will pop up the options on an entirely other window. It would be super awesome if it would just automatically save without opening up the Options, while allowing us to access the options whenever we were finished. It is like playing the original 8-bit Zelda with a 9999 damage shotgun, but you have to click through the load screen after every room. Edit: 5-star reduced to 1-star There seems to be a limit for how many elements I can permanently hide. I do not wish to use this any more.
  • (2023-02-28) 张子鑫: Some bug : 1. Text url start with wildcard in option page will clear out everything but first line. This is very fatal !! Text like this: " *://www.google.cn/* ". It is legal. Whatever it took two hour to edit and finally emptied. 2. Data loss when option page lose focus.
  • (2023-02-26) Ron Male: Thank you very much for the extension. Please don't throw it away and develop it.
  • (2022-10-16) Hunnid Grand Sims (Hunni): At first I thought the app didnt work at all, but it works....okay? the developers did make a note that after deleting what you wish to delete, with this extenstion you have to go into the options, add a delay time (mine didnt work at 5ms but worked a little better at 10ms) and click the scope a few times for each item, save, and refresh the page. it deleted most, but not all and you basically have to go to every site you wish to remove ads from and delete everything tediously which i think is a pain and even when you think you got it all, you havent

  • (2021-12-27) N H: DEV! NOT WORKING ON EBAY WHEN SELECTING LARGE BANNERS! :/ Hmmm Seems like could be either Chrome-only, or doesn't support all Chromium browsers (Yandex, etc). OR it does not support images - just text and layers (DIVs / SPANs, etc)
  • (2021-05-17) Pedro Henrique Pinto de Oliveira: Yes it did it

  • (2020-08-11) Mad Man: Amazin extension, But it would be more amazing to be able to target urls that are under a certain path Instead of having to nuke every signle page manually
  • (2020-06-28) Maiko Martin: This simple plugin is so to the point and elegant, I was compelled to review. Other apps only remove the unwanted elements temporarily, Nukem doesn't is permanently, perfect.
  • (2019-11-27) Ck Web: The 'little' extension that COULD! I tried several extensions reviewed to be excellent at ad and element removal tools, but for the particular site I needed help with, they all failed to make any of the element and ad hiding stick. After installing and immediately succeeding with Nukem, it's the only extension I'm using now because it worked, so A HUGE thanks to the devs for making such a solid web element hiding utility!!!
  • (2019-07-19) ItsFlashMF: I downloaded this for nothing more than to block "Youtube Community Posts" from the youtube homepage, and it worked I couldn't be happier! TYVM Keep up the good work!
  • (2019-03-07) Stewart Moir (Shtewps): Deletes elements and saves that delete for the next visit to that website. 10/10. Next step would be a community block list. Also, add a donate button because i'd like to buy you a coffee.
  • (2019-02-18) Aiman Tamimi: Absolutely charming! easy to use and exactly what i was looking for!

  • (2018-11-07, v:0.6) Joel Burbage: How to add wildcard...
First off, awesome work. Love the plugin! Second, I noticed a bunch of clickbait on Yahoo news, etc, intermixed with the actual "news" stories. Is there some way to simply hide everything that starts with, say: https://beap.gemini.yahoo.com? Thanks in advance!
  • (2017-12-02, v:0.6) Unable to see edits to recent pages
Good morning, Changes I make to webpages don't seem to be sticking. I remove elements, click on the Nukem button again. The changes I've made don't appear in the list. And then, when I hit save and close and refresh the page, the changes haven't stuck. Is there anything I've done incorrectly in that or is it a problem with the extension? Thanks! Matthew
